Western education, classroom teaching model, has failed accumulating students in the guise of education but actually breaking family structure in India, charging huge fees in dollars for higher because students never got good jobs with Indian degrees is very well tackled by Prof Sanyal. excellent approach to meet the high demand of skilled talent today/tomorrow. Honestly we are already 10 years late, specially on the broadband infrastructure to meet this demand. Today Udemy/Coursera/MIT Courseware... can easily provide world class quality education from the very top professionals/universities at a very cheap price and Indian govt. should make these resources available even cheaper for the students with free broadband facilities to access these resources. Let's go India, we don't have any time to waste!

In my humble opinion India should be training and exporting all kinds of workers right from Chef to Truck drivers to Plumbers to Doctors. The more we spread out the better our global reach will be. Also "Jack of All trades and Master of none" approach is useless. Case in point - a 4 years Computer Science degree is useless instead a 2 years Java Specialist is much more beneficial to the Employer not to forget that a students saves 2 years of time and money spent on Comp Sci degree. Similarly a Engineering degree can also be focused on specific areas. Biotech degrees can also be focused on specific areas.

Dude left primary and secondary education like ke it's expendable. These so called bhakts are growing like flies in this country and no-one's there to show mirror to India's gaping holes in it's basic infrastructure (physical, social, educational, administrative).

Once the Indians become more Educated the labour costs will increase and all those companies will be looking for cheaper alternatives and then running too other 3rd world countries too make to their products. That's just how the West operates. Indians should work on its own industries to produce Indian goods and move to AI technology and stop being used by the West.

India will never grow above 8% growth rate. And average growth rate will be 6% for this decade. On other hand china grew at more than 10% growth rate for at least 15 years. I am listening to Sanjeev sanyal since 2016 and he had said lot of things about Indian growth back then. But none of the things have become true. On contrary Indian growth was declining year by year just before pandemic. We registered only 4.5% growth rate in 2019. Covid came as savior for BJP. It gave bjp a breathing space for creating excuses for low economic growth after 2017.

Good thinking. From the colonial days we have been faithful followers of the western world and lagged behind by at least 30 years all the time. Always trying to play catch up. The very thought/idea of leap frogging and doing what is required, using means what suits us best, is simply great. Thinking independently is revolutionary and a game changer in itself. With such favourable demography, India is sitting on a gold mine to become a service economy, manufacturing economy, agricultural economy and knowledge economy, all at the same time. We must get our taxation policies right. Results are bound to follow so long as we stay focussed and be consciously mindful of detractors, at the same time. With all these democratic processes such as elections, politics etc the challenge is how do we raise the civic awareness in such value creation proportions? Masses of uneducated voters will simply fall for freebies! What is the strategy to counter such short sighted self destructing prophecy albeit extremely popular amongst ignorant masses? Unfortunately the only parameter that matters in a democracy is popularity.

Modi says that his target is for India to become VishwaGuru by 2047 CE; whereas PFI says that their target is for Hindustan's to become Muslim majority by 2047 CE -- both are working towards their objective. The chances for India to become Muslim majority by 2047CE are slim; unless Akhand Bharat becomes a reality; where Mohan Bhagwat of RSS says that this will happen in 15 years (2038 CE). Will RSS join hands with PFI (as they have done with Deoband Islamic school, think tanks for Taliban) based on Bhagwat's DNA theory? The probability of that occurrence is not Zero.

It is too presumptive to talk of higher education ' by distant learning'. No matter how much interactive online classes may be, unlike campus education, online education fails to provide churning of ideas and thoughts. Just like Samudramanthan this churing in physical presence of respectful and enlightened teachers gives rise to new insights. How many people can claim to be achievers like Acharya Jagdish Chandra Basu working in isolation.
