Person A ships illegal stuff worth $100mil to person B, person A also puts ''art'' to auction on reputable auctioneer house, person B and fake bidder person C are pumping bids to about $100mil, person B ''wins'' and legally pays to person A by purchasing worthless ''art'' item. ----and people still think it's about art 🤦‍♂

I’m not a billionaire, but if the goal is to shelter money from taxes ONLY and are not charitably inclined, I’ve heard they create an offshore trust in the Cook Islands, then LLCs in the caymans (Panama is popular too), and they use a British tax haven like British Virgin Islands. If they are charitably inclined and want to donate it, then they fund Foundations to reduce their present and future taxes. While many of the smaller ones “self Deal” (which is unlawful), the big ones are frequently audited and the IRS is now onto the game. Self dealing is probably one of the biggest issues, but there are many family foundations that give 99% of their funds away and run 100% on volunteers (so no one in the foundation is paid)…. I think it’s unfair to paint every Philanthropist with the same brush, many really do it right. Again, if it was simply the goal to warehouse money with the least taxes and the most protection, you have better options than a foundation!
