Do works produce faith, or is it the other way around? There are many who have confused the order of things concerning faith, justification, and works. In "The Carnal Christian," Dr. Sproul addresses this problem and helps us understand the relationship between faith and works.

Mercies Anew Every morning that breaks there are mercies anew. Every breath that I take is Your faithfulness proved, And at the end of each day, when my labors are through, I will sing of Your mercies anew When I've fallen and strayed, there were mercies anew. For you sought me in love and my heart you pursued. In the face of my sin, Lord, You never withdrew. So I sing of Your mercies anew. And...

Thanks for uploading. Such a wonderful unexpected pleasure to sit for a while under the teaching of Mr. Glock again as I did in this very class so many years ago now. I loved his humor, his relaxed style, and his depth of experience.
RC: “Regeneration precedes faith” Paul in Ephesians 1:13: “AFTER ye BELIEVED, ye were SEALED with that Holy Spirit of Promise”
By faith alone but not by a faith that is alone. Salvation is a gift. But I see. Gods gonna call it a gift so we dont get. No glory or can boast but is still making it all about obeying the rules.
RIP Kris. Now when you reach the pearly gates you can finally sing it to him
Amen. The church is back to it's sense.
Absolutely beautiful and true.
Thank you! Am I allowed to use this video and add it to YT with german subtitles?
Wowza, just wow!!!! 🔥🔥🔥 🙌🙌🙌

Shannon is singing this song she leg the faith pls pray for her and Josh and family.
Knowing that a man is Not justified by the works of the law but by the faith of Jesus Christ, Even we have BELIEVED in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and Not by the works of the law; For by the works of the law Shall No Flesh be Justified. Galatians 2:16kjv For By Grace are ye Saved through Faith; And that Not of yourselves: it is the Gift of God; Not of works, Lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9kjv
When we admit that JESUS IS LORD, that should be the end of discussion for the Carnal Christian. It would make sense if it wasn't written in the Bible that Jesus is Lord, then I can see how they would be wayward in carnality. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. Philippines 2:10-11 The Holy Bible
wdym end of discussion for carnal

No such thing as a carnal Christian? No problem, let me rip the first couple chapters of 1 Cor out of my Bible.
In this message you are never sure you are saved. Believe on the lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved. Amen Thank you Jesus
RC was a backsliding Christian himself, but he got a pass. Worship Jesus, not RC the carnel Christian.
The thief on the cross destroys this false gospel.
The carnal one will not enter! There is no such a thing as a carnal Christian.
Amen..PTAFTTSPACQ thank you for Sharing it 😊
I'd like to point out with love that only God can see some change and the person being changed.... Jesus warned us that we wouldn't really be able to tell that's why he's having a great throne judgment to sift us out
Obedience is never driven by results, no, obedience to Christ seeks only obedience! Not to but unto Christ Jesus in an ever deepening relationship!
GALATIANS 3:1-4 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? 2This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? *3Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?* *4Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.* ROMANS 4:1-5 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? 2For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 3For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. *4Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.* *5But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.* GALATIANS 2:19-21 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. 20I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. *21I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.* ROMANS 7:19-25 *For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing:* for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. *20Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.* 21I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. *So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.* 1 JOHN 1:8-10 *If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.* 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1 JOHN 3:8-9 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. *9Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.* COLOSSIANS 2:10-13 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11In whom also ye are circumcised with the *circumcision made without hands,* in putting *off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:* 12Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the *operation of God,* who hath raised him from the dead. 13And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, *having forgiven you all trespasses;* 1 CORINTHIANS 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, *I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you,* which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; *2By which also ye are saved,* if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, *how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;* *4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:* MATTHEW 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but *he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.* 22Many will say to me in that day, *Lord, Lord,* have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful *works?* 23And then will I profess unto them, *I never knew you:* depart from me, ye that *work iniquity.* JOHN 6:28-29 Then said they unto him, *What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?* 29Jesus answered and said unto them, *This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.* 2 TIMOTHY 2:16 *Study to shew thyself approved unto God,* a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, *rightly dividing* the word of truth. JAMES 1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the *twelve tribes which are scattered abroad,* greeting. ROMANS 5:15-18 But not as the offence, so also is the *free gift.* For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the *gift by grace,* which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. 16And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the *free gift is of many offences unto justification.* 17For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the *gift of righteousness* shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) 18Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the *free gift* came upon all men unto justification of life. 19For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the *obedience* of one shall many be made *righteous.*
On the contrary, some Christians sin so horribly that God has to take them home early. 1 Corinthians 11:30 “For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.” (KJV) Paul rebuked the Corinthians because of a man who was committing incest, but he never said that the guy wasn't saved. 1 Corinthians 5:1 “It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.” (KJV)

“Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.” Romans 3:31
Typical Calvinist, twisting the sciputure to fit there systematic!
Prise the Lord 🙏💖🤲😂😃🤣💗🍓 for this Sermons confirmation for me blessed your family Amen
Well, that's what R.C. Sproul said. Here's what the Bible plainly says, "And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely." (Revelation 22:17) Did you hear the gospel of how Christ died for your sins and rose again bodily from the dead? (First Corinthians 15:1-4) Are you thirsty for the forgiveness of your sins? Do you want your sins forgiven and to receive by faith the free, totally unmerited gift of eternal life? (Ephesians 2:8,9) Then, by an act of your will you CAN call on the Lord and trust in the shed blood of Christ and He promises He will save you. That's not what I said or any church reformer, who were often wrong btw, it is what the Bible, which is alone our sole authority for faith and practice. It is not me, John Calvin, Martin Luther, R.C. Sproul, or anyone else. If God said, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord SHALL BE SAVED" (Romans 10:13, Acts 2:21, and Joel 2:32) He means exactly that. It is not confusing, but Satan wants you confused. Salvation is the gift of God and is by His grace because it was purchased for you by the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross. You do not make Jesus the Lord of your life in order to obtain it not does the acceptance and reliance upon Christ guarantee you will be a spiritual Christian. Obedience to Christ as your Lord is NOT automatic and varies GREATLY from one believer to the next. Yes, there is such a thing as a truly carnal Christian who lives after the carnal nature and does not make Jesus the Lord of their lives. Christians can and do backslide and live seriously carnal lives, but not without serious consequences. To say how a Christian lives after they get saved is not important or has no consequences is simply to be totally ignorant of what the Bible teaches.
Romans 9:16 “So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.”
King James Bible No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Psychology, and Religion are in complete conflict. Sigmund Freud was the first scientist to explain the phenomenon of FEELING GUILT. (An introduction to Psychoanalysis, 1917). As the religious like to describe it as "God's Laws Written on my Heart". We have decades of scientific knowledge on the subject of Human Behavior. Freud described the survival function of Guilt Feelings!
Practice Matthew 18 with the Christian and it is simple…
I made a study of this about 50 years ago and came to the same conclusions that he has so ably and scripturally presented. This is the system that Apostles Paul and Peter instituted and was practiced by churches until Ignatius (in the second century) made the initial step of proclaiming himself a bishop with supreme authority over the elders. Then further changes lead to the hierarchy which became the core of Roman Catholicism. Yet the majority of Protestant have adopted the Ignatian pattern rather than the one the Apostles instituted. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. There are many good pastors that do an admirable job, but the system itself invites abuse of authority even in good men. The foundation of the church is built on the "Apostles and Prophets with Christ the chief cornerstone" and I fully believe with God's direction they got it right the first time.
There should be no controversy IF they are grounded in the scriptures. Of course, the NT clearly states more than once that those who are drunkards, fornicators , liars, covet (which is idolatry), etc will NOT enter heaven. False teachers too often preach the need for forgiveness, but not delivered. Jesus said, “If you love me you will obey My commandments.” The days of apostasy and weak theology is allowing this kind of religion to lead many to remain hell-bound. Thank you for this program just HEAR Spirit and Truth. The Carnal Christian are those Jesus will rebuke, “I NEVER KNEW YOU.” - In reality, they never knew God either.
Amazing song !!
Halaluya,Indonesia🇮🇩
*NOBODY* sings this song like Kris. I mean , I know it's his song, so that might make a difference, but he just brings that little something extra to it, somehow.
"Sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts"
This is one of my favorite songs. It takes me back to my past which I wish I could go back and change.
How would anyone in their right mind discover the heresy of Deformed Theology of Calvinism if people like R C Sproul didn't go out as Satan's agent and preach and Brain wash them?? If you want to hear an exact description of Satan's Character just read how Calvinists describe their god! Its a perfectly accurate description of Satan! Calvinist: god delights in destroying most human beings! God arranges all things by his sovereign counsel, in such a way that individuals are born, who are doomed from the womb to certain death and are to glorify him by their destruction.( John Calvin Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 3, Chapter 23, Paragraph 6) Calvinist: god infict's evil on people he delights in doing so! “Creatures are so governed by the secret counsel of God, that nothing happens but what he has knowingly and willingly decreed.” (John Calvin, Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 1, Chapter 16, Paragraph 3) Calvinist: god decides who will be his murderers and theives! “thieves and murderers, and other evildoers, are instruments of divine providence, being employed by the Lord himself to execute judgments which he has resolved to inflict.” (John Calvin, Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 1, Chapter 17, Paragraph 5) Calvinist: god commands and forces people and the devil to do evil acts! “The devil, and the whole train of the ungodly, are in all directions, held in by the hand of God as with a bridle, so that they can neither conceive any mischief, nor plan what they have conceived, nor how muchsoever they may have planned, move a single finger to perpetrate, unless in so far as he permits, nay unless in so far as he commands, that they are not only bound by his fetters but are even forced to do him service” (John Calvin, Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 1, Chapter 17, Paragraph 11) Calvinist: no evil has happened that god didn't command it be done! ”He testifies that He creates light and darkness, forms good and evil (Isaiah 45:7); that no evil happens which He hath not done (Amos 3:6). Let them tell me whether God exercises His judgments willingly or unwillingly.” (John Calvin, Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 1, Chapter 18, Paragraph 3) Calvinist: god forces people not to come to him. he bars access to them “…salvation is freely offered to some while others are barred from access to it.” (John Calvin, Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 3, Chapter 21, Paragraph 5)
Beautiful song..sang by the best....
One of my 1st albums in the 70's
Matthew Chapter 10 34Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. I believe the controversy has everything to do with what is written here in Matthew 10:34-35 it has to do with the separation between the sheep and the goats is what it does,
Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Matthew Chapter 25 33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. 41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: 42For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: 43I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. 44Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
Psalms Chapter 51 1(To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.) Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 2Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. 4Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. 5Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. 6Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. 7Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. 9Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. 10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 11Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. 12Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. 13Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. 14Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. 15O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. 16For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. 17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. 18Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem. 19Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
I don't think anyone who is a true christian, could say "oh it's okay I'm a carnal christian". That's really disgusting and shaming the name of The Lord
