On the contrary, some Christians sin so horribly that God has to take them home early. 1 Corinthians 11:30 “For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.” (KJV) Paul rebuked the Corinthians because of a man who was committing incest, but he never said that the guy wasn't saved. 1 Corinthians 5:1 “It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.” (KJV)

Well, that's what R.C. Sproul said. Here's what the Bible plainly says, "And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely." (Revelation 22:17) Did you hear the gospel of how Christ died for your sins and rose again bodily from the dead? Sproul, or anyone else. If God said, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord SHALL BE SAVED" (Romans 10:13, Acts 2:21, and Joel 2:32) He means exactly that. It is not confusing, but Satan wants you confused. Salvation is the gift of God and is by His grace because it was purchased for you by the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross. I made a study of this about 50 years ago and came to the same conclusions that he has so ably and scripturally presented. This is the system that Apostles Paul and Peter instituted and was practiced by churches until Ignatius (in the second century) made the initial step of proclaiming himself a bishop with supreme authority over the elders. Then further changes lead to the hierarchy which became the core of Roman Catholicism. Yet the majority of Protestant have adopted the Ignatian pattern rather than the one the Apostles instituted. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. There are many good pastors that do an admirable job, but the system itself invites abuse of authority even in good men. The foundation of the church is built on the "Apostles and Prophets with Christ the chief cornerstone" and I fully believe with God's direction they got it right the first time.

There should be no controversy IF they are grounded in the scriptures. Of course, the NT clearly states more than once that those who are drunkards, fornicators , liars, covet (which is idolatry), etc will NOT enter heaven. False teachers too often preach the need for forgiveness, but not delivered. Jesus said, “If you love me you will obey My commandments.” The days of apostasy and weak theology is allowing this kind of religion to lead many to remain hell-bound.
