It was a hectic day of racing in Loudenvielle. We had rain on practice day and race day which made conditions so difficult. I managed to finish in 6th place in the race and that was enough to land me in 3rd place in the Season Overall! Richie won the overall and Slav was second. Congrats to everyone who raced this season. Enduro World Cup is no joke! A huge thanks to my team @Specialized Enduro...

nice Video/bike can you do a timed comparison of the lyrik vs a Zeb(preferably at the same travel)?
Maybe I missed it in the Video but which bar width are you riding?
750mm
Nice and interesting video! I also looking for a stumpy, but i struggled a bit with the geo. I really like the stock geo, but I will also running a 160mm fork. I think that’s made the reach a little bit too short for me. Maybe I can fix it with the mullet link in low setting with full 29 wheels.🤔 That’s maybe results in the stock geo with a slightly higher BB. Do you also try this setup?
Good season champion
Thanks Jean!
I personally am bummed that they discontinued the Stumpy Evo. I love mine. It's extremely modified. I'm definitely waiting for the lugged enduro that Bruni rides. I'd buy that if it ever comes out.
Super interesting video Chaz, looks like a nice setup to be on. I've just installed a pair of those bar ends, do you tend to run your hand up against them or try and go a bit narrower with the hands?
Glad you liked it! Yea stoked on my set up for 2025. I rest the edge of my palm just on the end of the bars and my pinky runs just slightly inboard of the bar end. Does that make sense?
such a gorgeous bike. nice build. was wondering if you were gonna race the stumpy 15 this year.
Cheers mate! Yep sticking with the Stumpy for now
Charlie, did you do the NEW ZEALAND CONTINENTAL 2025? This past week or so. I saw BK only get 12th or 15th. He's not going to do well this year in the UCI races. He's to old. I hope to see you on the podium more in 2025.
Hey James! Me too haha. I haven't been doing much racing in NZ yet but I will be doing some in the coming months. I mostly focus on the World Cup Season
Any thoughts on carbon frame vs alloy frame?? Just carbon for weight, or are there ride quality differences that you appreciate as well?
To be perfectly honest I haven't spent much time on the Alloy version but usually they ride almost the same as the carbon ones. Just a bit heavier but the kinematic is the same and feel of the bike very similar. Hope that helps!
@@Chazmaztv Thanks! 👍
Cushcore pro or trail or xc?
Cushcore pro in the rear only for this rig !
The Lyrik is a charger 3, not 3.1?
He's been running 3.1 Charger internals long before they ever reached us, the potential buyers, my friend...
I would assume so but the damper says 3.. At 1:53
I also noticed that, a long time ago Nicolai, during the 2024 World Enduro Champ runs. But I'm not that naive!!! Charles has his fork completly revised every major event or every two main races if they aren't as tough, by Sram themselves, his entire bike, shock, and brakes are disassembled, cleaned, checked, greased and reassembled every race and training session...and he was in contention for the overall win for the most part of the championship. Do you really think that Charles Murray, the athlete that spearheads Specialized efforts in the World Enduro Championship doesn't use the best that Sram has on offer?...He probably uses prototipe evolutions inside those 35 stanchions. But still Nicolai, I bought my 160mm 3.0 green olive Lyrick Ultimate exactly two weeks before they launched the 3.1 internals, with the buttercups. Was really pissed because of it but...the fork is a masterpiece! All the best from Coimbra, Portugal, my friend!
Yep I'm still on the Charger 3 believe it or not. Never had enough free time last season to test the 3.1 and I haven't received my suspension for 2025 yet. Once that arrives I'll be on either the 3.1 analog or the FA version.
Well Nicolai, I eat my own hat! It's still the 3.0 charger Lyrick! I apologise to you!
I’d love for you to talk about the rear shock. How does it feel with coil vs. air? Not too linear? Need more progression? Will you race with the coil? Need the hydraulic bottom out often?
What bike computer mount are you using on the stem?
Garmin/Wahoo mount is a K Edge one
Can you fit tokens in the negative air chamber on a Rox shox fork!
I don't actually know? I'm not an expert on forks but just got confused between talking about a rear air shock I think. As me and Tom always talk about -ve tokens on the SDLX
@ cool chaz, thanks for the reply, thought I was missing oit on some pro tip 🤣
Anybody hardly ever talks about brake lever angle. I have once heard that Jesse M. runs them different left to right... I guess yours are set up based on numbers rather then feel ;)
Yep I run them the same left and right, both are just a little below flat, can't remember the exact angle but we usually measure it on the iPhone level haha
charlie bit mi finger :(
Still super surprised Specialized hasn't updated or released an updated version of the Enduro. But this gen stumpy just checks sooooo many boxes.
i watched a podcast with one the head market people and she said who wants a 170mm pig that isn't electric unfortunately....still love my 2022 enduro. use it weekly at the local trail system that has a challenging climb and a couple times a month at the resort bike park.
Sorry my friend, but it has! The 2025 S works Enduro!
@ nothing changed. it's just udh compatible
the enduro is still a good bike, other than updating the seat tube and giving it adjustable cups... thats alot of work for molds etc just for a bike that wont sell great. specilized have done well with the enduro.. however they've lost the plot with the stumpy. Evo with cascade link is still better.
I have one so I agree!!!! Lol! Cheers from Portugal!
Hy Charles, I'm Luís from Portugal. Wanted to say congratulations on finishing on the podium of what was a challenging and hard 2024 world cup for you. I was rooting for you to win but...maybe next time. I'm the proud owner of 4 mtb's, one of them being the exact same Stumpy Evo that you raced until the middle of last year season. An S3 yellow textured frame that is the pride of my eyes. Love that bike to the moon! Also ride it with a 160mm Lyrick but, some of us aren't so lucky as to beying racing for Sram and so I couldn't buy a red one. The only possibility for us mere mortals is either the black one or olive green, wich was what I bought. What I'm about to say now has nothing to do with you but, Specialized took a very wrong step in the wrong direction with the Stumpy 15. Only being able to build that frame with AXS transmissions makes the bike colossaly expensive...On this day and age when bike manufacturers are dropping like flies(GT, Rocky Mountain...), turning the most popular and cherished big trail/small enduro bike in the market into an absolute luxury item is...unfair, to all of us. I was able to build my Stumpy in a beatifull and simple way cause I was able to buy a full Sram GX eagle mechanical transmission for 399€! It was a no brainer. And still, with the eact same cockpit as you - Renthal aluminum, not carbon, Newmen mullet aluminum set wheels and the full aluminum Gx transmission, my bike came under 13,5kgs. Bliss!! Anyway, I'll be again cheering for you in the upcoming 2025 season and looking very closely on what your feedback is on that new coil you're using now. After years of using the super deluxe ultimate - great, great shock! All the best from Coimbra, Portugal!!
Agreed! These "wireless only" frames cut many riders out of the mix unfortunately. Shame.
Hy Myke! I was hoping to get something started with that statement of mine and, as it turns out, so I did. Don't you find it a colossal mistake tat the only S Works Specialized frame that you can buy with internal cable routing is the very lightly renewed S Works 2025 Enduro?... I don't know where you're writing from but, in Portugal, if I want to build a Stumpy 15 I have to order either from the brand web site or from a trusted dealer like IBKbike in Spain. Price?... 4500€...Just the frame. A sram S01 AXS transmission? Around 1200€, if you're lucky!! And then after that there's the all other parts "in the shopping list" of the bike missing. It's simply too much money!!! I also own a XC Wilier Urta MAX SLR 120/120mm with Sid Ultimate suspensions from Rockshox. A breathtakingly beautifull and colossaly sharp XC and Trail tool, with nothing but carbon on it, well under 11kgs. Price? Under 8200€, with assembling. Specialized S Works Epic 8?... 14.000€!!!!! We're talking about bicicles here, not motor bikes! I make it a point of pride that all my 4 bikes have Sram Mechanical transmissions, from Gx Eagle upwards. It's simply not fair, nor is it justifiable. Honest and humble opinion and hope I don't offend anyone. All the best from Coimbra, Portugal.
Loving the Red Lyrik Chaz @Charles Murray 🤌🏻
Is it full 29 or Mixed wheel setup?
Full 29er
Sick! 🔥 Be interesting to see breaking metrics on a vid, very cool product that!
beautiful bike and sick setup. I think the audio got cut/mangled when you were mentioning the suspension setup. I think you were talking about the fork compression settings then it jumped to shock compression settings? -5 rebound is on the shock right? not the fork? You never mentioned the fork rebound setting. in the past I think you've ran -10
Yep fork is -10 clicks and shock is -5 clicks!
Are you running a mullet, or a full 29er?
He doesn’t say it here but mentioned full 29er in the past since it’s faster.
Yep full 29er at the moment and likely will be the whole season
Do you find yourself having to run super low sag on your coil shock to avoid blowing through the travel, with how relatively linear the Stumpy15 frame is?
What kind of brakepads do you run? Sintered/resin? What are your thoughts?
Always metal pads, just means I can ride in all conditions without have to change pads/rotors.
Do you run inserts?
Watch the Video. He is running cushcore in the rear
yep rear cushcore pro
Thanks, what are the barend caps? Couldn't understand the name 😅.
loam lab counterpunch
Just an FYI, You don't "NEED" to have grips with end caps, I ride PNW grips and trimmed the ends and drilled it out with a step bit to run these bar ends. Zero issues🤘🏼
Yep LoamLab Counterpunch, You can basically modify any grips to fit them. We just cut the ends off our Renthal grips and put them on
Hi Charlie, love the videos, keep them coming. One question, have you felt a big difference going from a 40mm stem to a 50mm? I have an S4 enduro, im 6,3 (190 cm) and was thinking to switch from 40 to 50mm to have a bit longer Reach.
Why the stumpy and not the enduro? I know a lot of riders (Maes especially) have said before 150 is more than enough for enduro just wondering why you choose it! 145 does seem a little on the light side!
Thanks for the Bike Check :) Great stuf! Have you tryed the flight attendant system?
Nice one Chaz Maz! Where does a shorter travel bike perform better for you on the EDR circuit relative to going with something like the Specialised Enduro? I’m on a Switchblade personally, but finding myself wanting to get something a bit longer this year. Best of luck this season! Can’t wait for races to come back to Australia and NZ
Have an awesome year Charlie.
Did you try running the Genie shock?
Even if he did he's sponsored by Rockshox/Sram
Haven't had the chance to try it yet! But yep race on Rockshox and the SDLX has been my go to on this bike, feels epic. Currently running the coil for some testing
Nice bike check Mate! - What about the headset what position are you running it?? Do you keep it in the middle like last year? - Have you tried it on mullet? Any thoughts about that? Also you encouraged me to get a stumpy 15, I got the Ohlins model…. The bike is so so predictable and stable….. no need for more travel… trail bikes are the right enduro bikes!!!
Nice check! How did you set HBO in vivid? Rebound 5 click for fork and shock?
We're changing HBO a little bit but usually fully on or one click open from full on
Sweet ride! Kick arse in ‘25! Ever try a Dak style hi riser bar? 50 or 60mm?
Thanks mate! Appreciate the support. Nope, only ever tried a 30mm. I tend to like a low front end but maybe will try it higher sometime in the future. Not 60mm though, maybe 40-50mm
Thank you for the video Charles. Have you tried running the chainstay from the S5 on the S4 frame?
Not yet but I’ll let you know if I do!
Nice check! Good luck in 2025!
Thanks, fingers crossed for a good season!
Awesome bike and bike check mate!
What pedals are you running this year?
Was going to say this
Still to be confirmed! Any recommendations?
@@ChazmaztvI’m hyped to try out one up’s new pedals
@chazmaztv would be stoked to hear your thoughts on the time speciale line up
@@Chazmaztv crankbros all day
Whats the name of the handlegrip bar end?
What is the name of the bar end protector on your handlegrip?
Chazzaaaa!
Nice job dude! Are you still running your headset in the neutral setting?
Yep still in neutral headset cup!
@@Chazmaztv interesting! You definitely are smashing on it! I just picked up a Stumpy 15 coming from an enduro. Was tempted to slack it out for bike park days but you’re inspiring me to rip it with the neutral cup! Cheers to offseason! Rooting for ya in 25 bruh.
What setting around you running the headset at?
Nice, bet you didn’t expect such good skiing. Looked hard work trucking those downhill skis n boots. Fuelling, don’t take protein, that’s for recovery. Just carbs n fat….croissants rule!
Wish I could have joined

Wow.! Those kids are rippin! So talented. Nice!
