Sandro Schwarz Press Conference 5.28.24
I am going to the game let’s go New York Red Bulls. I believe we can win.
Hey guys, according to the Red Bulls & MLS websites, the game is at 5:30 PM, not 7:30/8.
"Cory Burke has played his last game for the RedBull" Good god I hope so.
Mark, thank you for the kind words during this difficult time for Joe and their entire family.
Great to see Andrew on! Definitely top 3 matches at RBA and the best atmosphere in years. Really excited and optimistic for the next round of playoffs! All the best to Joe and I hope he recovers!
The most recent PK shootout win was not too long ago actually, in the Red Bulls' inaugural Leagues Cup game against New England in 2023. Granted, that wasn't a "do or die" shootout. The only other one I can remember that was a win was at home against Philly during our 2017 Open Cup run.
Wiebe wearing a RB Jersey is something I never thought Id see. I listen to Extratime a lot and I will say I agree with most of his praise for other clubs, especially Columbus. If we had to replay this series I would still be expecting to see RBNY lose. This team is different with Forsberg and we just didn’t get enough time with him this season to see what we can do. I still think we need to improve but with Forsberg and Morgan healthy and our defense we can play anyone.
Man been a fan of this team since the Giants Stadium days, this win means so much to me…gave me SO much joy … and now I live in Mexico and Mark makes me feel at home each week I listen to the pod while I’ve been living abroad, thanks for all the amazing work you do!!!
Thank you so much for watching and subscribing! Really appreciated!
Lost my voice after sunday for a few days
Same here. Crazy game so glad I went
Thank you both for representing!
Great show. As a new soccer fan and a rbny fan. That game was exciting. Can’t wait for game 2.
Thanks for listening!
Great show but my lord rip headphone users
We apologize for that. Will have it fixed for our next show.
When u think Dylan will help smh😂😂
Assist on the goal… pretty good outing.
I think you guys said it best Mark! No one believes in us, so play free of fear and pressure! With nothing left to lose, we have to attack first and be strict and disciplined, avoiding early soft goals bs that has haunted us for months now. Come on, New York!! 🔴⚪️🗽
Klopp / Sandro good friends...speak often...confident Klopp already knows Sandro's take on our team and needs...we won't be a side show in his new role we may in fact have an inside track in this setup...interesting too that Red Bull used the word soccer to title Klopp's position...Beat the Crew bring on Cincy!
Seeing red? How about seeing Orange and Blue for the rest of the season? #LFGM
We are all in for the Mets, but we’re here for RBNY
Possibly speaking through a Ted Lasso lens here: I say bring on Columbus, learn what we need to learn, and use it to jump over the first hurdle when we see them in the playoff.
To add to Michael Battista's commentary on Mintzlaff's position on MLS saw this I believe on Reddit from a RBNY fan and think it sums it up...RBNY doesn't want to sign 2 players at $10 million each they want to sign 10 players at $2 million each...DP rules permit the former the cap prevents the later...the Red Bull system is all about finding excellent young players developing them and win keeping those players as long as they can...like hundreds of teams around the world the overwhelming majority actually none of the Red Bull teams can keep their best players indefinitely you win with them then replace them as they move on to bigger teams...RBNY is unhappy they can't sign those higher class young players to build the team they want here...not the Messi's but the Mane's...
We arent the best at anything anymore. The team says they want to develop the best talent in MLS, Philly seems better at that then us, They say they want to be the best pressing team in the MLS thats not true anymore. What are we trying to be the best at? Selling energy drinks?
I don't think they're particularly good at that either.
@@DanMcD674 well then I’m definitely not sure what we’re doing 😂😂😂
I don't think it's fair to judge Bernardeschi's hair when we have Tolkin. The battle of hair styles on the wing will be just as impressive as the battle of the players.
This has turned into such a disappointing season. The only thing I look forward to regarding this team are your weekly podcasts. Keep up the great work!
Thank you Daniel for mentioning the lack of quality. Unfortunately I think the people calling the shots from Europe still don't recognize how much the quality of MLS has improved in recent years. For example, Felipe Carballo. I like his resume, and I think he can be a good addition to the team. But he is not DP-caliber. If you're going to spend DP money on a six, go try for N'Golo Kante. (There were rumors he wants to leave the Saudi league. RBNY can't match the money, but at least MLS is more relevant.) When other MLS teams need a goal-scorer, they go find the best proven player they can get. The "vaunted" Red Bull scouting department, meanwhile, continues to send New York projects and busts. Second-division players or bench riders. Why can't the Red Bulls find a Denis Bounga, Sebastian Druissi, or Cucho Hernandez? Sure, they spent money for Forsberg, but that was easy. It was as much about moving him along from Leipzig as it was filling a need in New York. And even if he was healthy, he's not enough. The front office needs to decide what they want this team to be, because no matter what the goal is, they're failing, and until they decide to actually make the effort an MLS club deserves, that's not going to change.
Hey mark, keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
This podcast was 100% perfect until Memory Lane at 36:30. Well done Mark. Your words express the heart of the fans.
Excited to be back at RBA on hopefully a non rainy day. 😅
The RUclips show has been great !
Thanks so much for watching! Please subscribe if you haven't yet!
Missed listening to the show during the Leagues Cup hiatus. Looking forward to more episodes soon!
Thanks so much! We'll be back every week until the end of the season.
Trying to sign this 2nd division polish striker this young and inexperienced shows a real lack of serious intent by this front office to put us over the top. This is not a “serious investment”. Not to mention I have no trouble imagining a scenario where we don’t pick up the option on the cm we signed.
Just listened...congrats...great interview...thought Gotham might inherit the Hanover site will they have space in new site?...want those tarps red and black...seats too...build that standing ring at the top of the upper deck now...need more watch parties and more NYC activities like that 2K Brooklyn Bridge Park watch so many years ago...wonder if the league's mandate to rebrand the 2 teams might still lead to RBNY Empire...got the 6 on to the 9 and a "name" 9 would be a big step forward...reject the all will got was Forsberg talk...we also got a starting centerback...and that new 6 will have to fight for a starting spot we have 2 good ones now...
Personally I am all for Redd. And for all the entertainment. I understand that soccer should be the star, and it will be. But there is nothing worse than being super supportive of RB and seeing so many empty seats. With NY/NJ growing so much with youth soccer. Encouraging families to come in with a mascot, entertainment and activities. Will only hopefully grow not only RB fans but also grow the love of the sport.
Surely, but for those fans that have supported the team since the start, the changes are jarring.
@@seeingredny yeah, I can understand that. But ultimately supporters want to win. More revenue and interest can only help in bringing in top DP. At least that's what I hope. And I really want to win.
He is playing sooo good but he is injured right now he has a broken foot out for another 2-3 weeks
Always happy to see Steve Cangialosi on the show
You could tell that we needed Forsberg out there. Really could use some creativity while trying to break DCU down.
Forsberg seems like a Yankees’ Stanton, may be hall of fame worthy but can’t run or do it all alone
I admire Emil Forsberg's skills, but considering how Lionel Messi benefits from players like Luis Suarez, Busquets, Jordi Alba, and Campana, it's clear we need more than just Forsberg, even if Morgan is included.
Amaya was the difference between 0-2 and 2-2 midweek, and to see him go so unexpectedly is a bummer...but I guess it's good "business" as long as there's a good replacement
Tony sounds like a young Dan Aykroyd. Great interview!
Was waiting to hear him say “Da Bears” 😂
It's Nashville. This game has 0-0 written all over it.
10:49 You heard it here first folks, Mark just cursed us to lose 0-5 this Saturday by reciting the forbidden stats!
LOL
Seeing Red: The New York Soccer Roundup, cool content bro
the path situation is CRAZY
Don’t go to a game with watching Seeing Red 1st!
Without watching. That’s why I should never comment
Post game they have been attempting to force fans walking to Newark Penn trying to take Jackson street bridge to walk all the way down to market street instead of letting them walk down Raymond Blvd
You mention both games where we haven’t had Forsberg start. Curious as to what your thinking is regarding your lineup where you have Wiki on the left and Morgan up top. In those two games w/o Emil Morgan played out on the left as the under-cutting playmaker. Any particular reason you expect Sandro to play Wiki there this time rather than having Dante and Elias up top together?
Given the news now that Morgan will be with Scotland this weekend (and likely through Euro, Wiki is our natural choice on the left when Forsberg and Morgan are out.
Awesome!
Great episode as always
Amaya may be in the top half of team salaries, but at that price he’s a bargain for his production and consistency. Amaya at this moment is arguably our top performer all things considered
Sucks to see Harper out, he was doing great
Enjoyed the pod. Looking forward to a fun battle tonight at RBA.
I was bummed that I had to miss seeing the game for my wife's friend's birthday party but upon seeing the final score on my phone... so glad I went to that party lol
@@Davi_um_feito uh okay
@@Davi_um_feito you expected a different reaction when you replied with something completely off topic from my initial comment? That’s on you lol
@@keith2954 ok I wasted my time with you got it.
I literally had nothing to say after that game. An email would be nothing but rage haha
