@ruby_R53's channel for posting whatever cool music I find or even make! Mostly oscilloscope views of them.
For that, I use corrscope (github.com/corrscope/corrscope) to render those videos, consider supporting the development if you can!
As for playing the music, I use...
NSFPlay (github.com/bbbradsmith/nsfplay) for NES soundtracks,
gbsplay (github.com/mmitch/gbsplay) for Game Boy ones,
C64play (my currently-private fork of sidplayfp) for Commodore 64 ones,
and ProTracker 2 clone (github.com/8bitbubsy/pt2-clone) for Amiga MODs.
NOTE:
Do I take requests?
For the systems listed above, yes.
Anything other than them, no. Unless I find what you requested somewhat interesting too :)

Walking Squares — Kamil "Jammer" Wolnikowski, 2017
You'd probably expect a square/pulse-only tune here, but we even got samples!

This is my first PSG view of a 2SID tune! It almost looks like I screen-recorded it on a phone now··· I like the instruments on this one, I just wonder why the filter cutoff just keeps increasing while all voices have already stopped voicing. Oh yeah, this PSG view is also in 4K now :) upscaled the recording 4 times!

Short song name, long artist name. This is another early C64 tune, and it's actually a game soundtrack. This is the main theme, the rest of the subtunes are all just major and minor chords that rise in tone. Maybe you could use them as samples? :) Oh yeah, you can also see that I struggled with the triggering on this one. This is the best I could get :/ Parameters: Emulation: reSIDfp (libsidpla...

This goofy ahh tune is one of the earliest C64 tunes I could find on the HVSC. It's pretty basic, we don't even have envelopes here. Would be cool if someone could polish this up. Crazy how we went from this to modern C64 tunes and we keep evolving. And this is how I end my January. Parameters: Emulation: reSIDfp (libsidplayfp v2.12.0) No filters here. I had this tune lying around for quite a while already. I took so long to finally make an osci view of it because I was too lazy to add the fade out x) Parameters: Emulation: reSIDfp (libsidplayfp v2.12.0) Filter curve: 0.5

Banjos on the C64?? Hell yeah, this is fire! So I was finally able to get RUclips to render this at 60fps. Upscaling my recording did the trick, should have done this before x)

So this one actually has an oscilloscope view video of already, and it was made by et1999cc himself. However, RUclips had to mess his video up, so I'm uploading another one that hopefully won't get messed up by RUclips as well. Because this tune is really nice. Apparently it covers one with the same name made by a band called The Romantics. I like the usage of pulse saw here, plus the drum inst...
English Suite #2 - Eric Fern, 1986

Here goes another Bach cover from this Eric guy. Is it weird that I unironically like these types of SID tunes? They're so barebones, yet I like them a lot. Parameters: Emulation: reSIDfp (libsidplayfp v2.12.0) No filter used here again. And I found out that the program he used to compose this (Master Composer) really can only have a fixed cutoff for the instruments. It's a barebones program an...
Fugue in G Minor - Eric Fern, 1986
Просмотров 209День назад
This one is an interesting cover, made by an obscure composer. From what I gathered on DeepSID, he only used Master Composer to make his tunes, which are all covers of some of Bach's harpsichord works. Another interesting detail is that he made all of those in 1986, and then just never made any new tunes again. Maybe he just figured the C64 wasn't for him, or just used it to learn music theory?...

THIS SOUNDS INSANE
yeahh this is FIRE
Wonderful. I like them a lot as well. : )
nice so i'm not alone :)
Now THAT'S a well-tempered klavier.
pot of gold
Seems like duty cycle + vibrato fits the pulse wave
I wonder what waveform that is on the bottom
it''s a low+band-pass'd pulse wave with $240/$fff as pulse width
@ ahh
@ now you know ;)
Wob wobwabwoobwaab waaab!
Ooh notch filter Btw which key is this
uhh i think it's D minor, haven't trained my ears in a while why do you ask tho'
@ i like knowing what key some songs are, especially chiptune music
@@RavingShapes ohh that's cool i used to do that as well with any song i listened to
@@ruby_RSound3 yeah, itd be cool if there would be a chiptune song thats either uses Locrian or Phrygian key
@@RavingShapes heh don't remember what those are
Nice!!!
Thank you! ❤
(ᵗʰᵉʸ ᶠᵘᶜᵏᶦⁿᵍ ᵉˣᵖˡᵒᵈᵉᵈ) gonna go back in time and play this for some medieval peasants, brb
lmao 😭
yeah my program can't show in real time that i toggled the filter, still not sure if i implement that x)
Nice
yeeeah
is it possible for a c64 to have 2 sound chips?
yeah there's an add-on that lets you have as many SIDs as you want if i remember correctly
Thanks so much for uploading it! <3 Yes, RUclips was acting up a bit during those days, melting the views on oscilloscope from several channels, but that's in the past now. I like the little pan you did on the cover.
i'm glad you liked it! i wonder why that happened on some youtube videos
@@ruby_RSound3 you're welcome, it's nice to see my covers on other channels :) Maybe RUclips changed the codec to compress the videos and it didn't get along well with the one Corrscope uses, it's just a hypothesis...
@@et1999cc_chip yeah that's what i'm guessing
Only triangle and combined pulse+triangle can be both ringed/synced ;) And it's pretty common trick in MSL tunes ;) 🤘🤘🤘
i see! that makes sense now
I love this :3
jamiroquai chiptune!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i wish there were chiptune covers of the songs from emergency on planet earth
oh my god i wasn't expecting you to find out about my channel lol > the songs from emergency on planet earth never heard of those
@ruby_RSound3 emergency on planet earth is jamiroquai's first album and my personal favorite
@@traumatizedgeworth ohh i see
@ruby_RSound3 you should listen to the original love foolosophy though great song (don't watch the music video it sucks lmfao)
@@traumatizedgeworth loll i'll give it a listen
i should have reduced the amplification on the 5th voice there oops
Oiiiiiii
opa, quem é você?
Very cool track!
This randomly popped up in my recommendations while I was scrolling and I gotta say, I like this! Alot!
i'm glad you did! good to hear :)
This sounds like a theme song for a quirky side character that does tech stuff or perhaps a goofy comic relief secondary antagonist that unintentionally does more help than harm to the protagonist
that's oddly specific i like it :)
Lol, little archeology this time 😀 Thx!
loll yeah i like those you're welcome mate
Hey you made this song, what key is this song? (Just curious)
@@RavingShapesit starts with G#.
@@jammerc64 nice! What’re the rests of the keys played?
@@RavingShapes 72% sure it's G# major
I'm surprised Jammer uses the MOS 6581 (which I still prefer for its more aggressive bass over the 8580's) for this tune. I guess this was relatively early in his musical works. Thanks for uploading the waveform visualizations of this emotional song! Edit: misspelled "works"
> (which I still prefer for its more aggressive bass over the 8580's) heh, i find the 8580's bass more aggressive but that could be just from the tunes i've listened to > I guess this was relatively early in his musical works. maybe, he was 19 when he composed it > Thanks for uploading the waveform visualizations of this emotional song! you're welcome mate
Jammer and his amazing bangers! I thought you were going to use the text-based player again :0
loll yeah i do have some videos with it to be uploaded but still mostly oscilloscope views
Thank you! 🤘

Does this program have SIDBlaster support? 👀
unfortunately it doesn't, don't have one to test :/
@@ruby_RSound3 I have one, :P
gah i recorded it in 60 fps totally forgetting about RUclips's compression, now you guys are watching it in 480p30 :/ i wonder how i could record these videos and have youtube rendering them to at least 720p60 without having to buy a higher resolution monitor···

This is awesome! Would love an explanation/showcase of how you programmed it. Have always been interested in how the chiptune sauce is made lol
loll i just took sidplayfp's code and started implementing stuff on it, first thing i added was the bottom display containing the master volume and the filter bits, what i mostly changed was just the looks tho' this year i plan on making the repo for it public so you can have a more in-depth look at it
amazing
even the waveforms dance! groovy tunes bro
i hpoe you had a holly jolly chipmas!!
thanks! unfortunately i didn't 😭
