I have been living at this property for almost three years, and during this time, we have had ten different property managers. Unfortunately, none of them have been responsive to tenants' concerns or issues. The last property manager left after just seven months, and we are currently without one at all. The only bright spot at the property WAS the maintenance man, Ray. He always had a positive attitude, making sure to say hello and ask how everything was going EVERY SINGLE TIME I saw him. He went way above and beyond around here but, unfortunately, he left recently for another position and I don't blame him. His warm disposition and dedication is greatly missed. The new maintenance person, Hector, is also very kind and dedicated. He is literally the single last staff member that remains, so he has a massive work load. The owner of the property has stopped paying bills and vendors, resulting in a loss of amenities such as the copy machine and coffee maker. The cleaning crew and maintenance person have been fired, and vendors are not paid, so they don't come back when there's a problem. This has led to the elevator being out of order for six weeks recently. To make matters worse, inconsiderate and disrespectful tenants are moving in. The dog run is left unclean, and residents don't clean up after their pets. Large parties take over the entire rooftop of the building, and there are incidents of pot and cigarette smoking in the units and mail and package theft (see photos of packages torn open and a camera taken either by another resident or homeless off the street). They will not hire a doorman, so anyone can (and does) walk in from the street and freely roam the hallways and rooftop. Even when Greystar addresses concerns, it's done with nothing more than a blanket email that goes unread or is disregarded. The package room and lobby are often left in disarray. When you try to contact management, your calls and emails are mostly ignored, and there's no way to contact anyone when you need it. Greystar needs to step up and take care of its residents at Upshore Chapter. They're doing an awful job and are essentially non-existent around here. Avoid this property at all costs, it's absolutely terrible and I'm moving out as quickly as I can! If you see any 5 star reviews, they are absolutely done by staff in an effort to counter all the real reviews. Nobody that spends more than a month here would ever write a positive review, period. Check out the dates on any positive review and you'll find they were from 3-4 years ago. Don't believe them for a second!

I like condos but unfortunately you have to pay hoa fees and you can't make noise.

I'm curious about these fancy high-rise apartment/condo buildings. Do many of them offer amenities such as a grocery store or general store inside the building for tenants or anything like that? If they don't, they should probably think about offering that. I'd bet people would pay pretty much whatever you wanted to offer for eggs, milk, coffee, toilet paper, and the like if they knew they didn't have to get bundled up and drive to a grocery store in the middle of a blizzard should they run out of the essentials.

For anyone considering renting/buying in this building, be sure to do a thorough search on its history/previous problems.

The best years of my life were spent while I was living in this building. 2012-2015. Great times.

Building is shit. Renovation is crap. Flooding is terrible

Hey guys, small suggestion if I may! If you do another video please pick a room with fewer hard surfaces, it has given the acoustics a hard echo making the audio difficult to listen to, which is going to kill your audience retention. A room with carpet/covered walls absorbs sound and makes a better audio recording environment. Having a closer mic (might I recommend Blue Yeti) can help too. If you'd like, Chicago also has a great film school called Columbia and my fellow alumni are often taking on freelance opportunities! If you would like to have more professional looking videos you can find a recent grad here: students.colum.edu/career-center/articles/employers.php (I suggest this as this seems like a casual project and a recent grad will likely cost less than a veteran, they'll benefit from the experience, and you'll benefit from better looking and sounding videos. They also have a passion for making videos and can bring you high quality recording and editing you didn't know your videos were lacking, while they can add to their portfolio.) Genuinely came here to learn more about buying a condo as I'm considering my future housing options in Chicago, and knew of a resource that might help you.
