The CRC is unique in that it is always reforming. At one time, women couldn't even serve as deacons; now they can be pastors! The church is making moves to come to grips with the beauty of the expression of same-sex love. They are in close communion with the United Church of Christ, which supports all abortion, even partial-birth. This is not your parents church; this is a church where young people can come to and not be offended.

And you think getting a fussy kid like that who might just be overtired or something more than "bratty" would be any less distracting if had to get them "through a crowd and out of a long hallway etc" You can't always "leave quickly and easily" and it isn't always "not distracting" That one kid being fussy was the worst I saw on lots of clips.

I went to a grandparents' funeral at 12 (and I ma only 32) and was respectfully quiet but alot of it is I think it is hard to get a modern 8 year old to understand why there is symbolic respect to a funeral of a president from 1980. and on top of which they weren't actually at the funeral they were just hanging out on the road side not attending.

I am starting to agree with you. I watched this clip and the more I watched and listened it wasn't like a kid being fidgety it was like a bunch of kids talking right on top of the noise. You said about that parents don't realize that kids are an extension of them. What about the fact that it is disrespectful to GF loved ones. Good video, however, the military presence you saw was not that of the National Guard. These are members of the Joint Service Honor Guard companies. Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard. Nothing against the National Guard, but the personnel you see in this video are highly trained to perform ceremonies at strict standards. Again, not National Guard, they are the Joint Service Honor Guard. Thank you.

In the case of the kids at this funeral, I agree with you, but read my comment. I was the age of these kids when I went to my first funeral. I must be from a different era.

I was the age of these brats when I went to my first funeral. My parents made it VERY clear to me to be respectful. My brothers and I NEVER embarrassed our mother and father that way. Apparently these parents don't realize children ARE AN EXTENSION OF US!
