Will that brake cleaner cause fish eyes on your next spray paint?
Great question. It won't cause fish eyes because brake cleaner is designed to clean brake rotors and not leave any residue.
A. 👍🏼 🌸🩷🌸
Lol
What microphone are you using?
@@krakenstars5042 A kashevl/ professional. It sounds good and works with my setup. But it gets a little scratchy, for like, 10 seconds, A lot of the time. I am unable to use any of the other brands, unless I buy yet ANOTHER camera.
Wheres take 9?
Right, I did give up!! Thanks buddy👍
You are funny :)
Sometimes. 😉
Nice cover on the 72
How do I not know the wrench and screwdriver game for leverage?! A girl, old lady, … needs this tidbit!
Thanks for your tips. I initially was going to buy 8 liters of bed liner to the only the outside of a truck with an 8 foot bed but I am going to up it to 12 liters after watching your video. Came here from Daze of Glory.
Thank you so much for the comments. Good luck to you and your project sounds cool. Let me add one thing, this stuff smells for a very long time.👍
@@eyesalooking And, thank you for subscribing!!! It means a lot to me.👍
Nice truck, good job!

@Wrenchen-with-Darren I bet there is. Can't wait to see more, you seem like a cool guy. 😊

Sweet ride
Thank you so much!!! I wanted an old truck for many years.
Came here for a give away, left with a new appreciation for Spanish Gold!
Wow, that was really nice, thank you very much sir.
Spanish gold and mini me look good.
I really like the 1972 Chevy Pickups
They are cool, and drive like a modern truck. Thanks for your comment. 👍
Commet 🙂 Your truck came out great. How did you manage to get the HUGE model truck into the paint booth.
Lol, it was a paint in the butt. I wont do it again.😂
@@Wrenchen-with-Darren 😂
What an endeavor! Your ability to adjust on the fly shows your creativity & genius. Nicely done.
Darren thanks for all the tips, was planing to paint my 72 4by with raptor, and was told i would need 2 kits, and the way you are talking i'm going to need 40 gallons
Ha, you will be fine. Using it like a paint (thinner) it will cover better. Good luck and bet it will be sweet. 👍
Looks great. Love the interior and the clean look to everything. Mint!
Thanks!!! I appreciate the compliments.
Well done!
Thank you so much, it was fun.
Clean build sir. I just finished a tune up and fresh front and rear spring bushings on a friend’s 72 k10 custom. It’s close to the color seemed as yours here, gold/white top. I’m now currently getting a 68 k10 back on the road that will be my as well. ruclips.net/user/shortsCoRTRq2KgUs?si=w9TP_xnRigOoOL8j Quick short of his truck.
Dude, that thing is sweet. I'd like to do a K- series. Awsome.👍
Looks great!! I hope you enjoy the truck to the fullest.
I won't lie it's a lot of work. But I enjoyed it all. I've been driving the truck and it is great. Thanks for the comment and putting your name in the Hat, for the drawing.👍
Your the winner of the match box car sized spannish gold truck. Congratulations! I'll send you my email address and you can email me your mailing address, so I can send you the truck.

Thanks, turned out really good!
Yep I like how you did the prep work. The only thing I didn't like about my prep work was I was supposed to seam seal and completely forgot as I got close to spraying. Just flew right outa my brain. That's ok, I'll get it on the next coat when I fix my messy finish.
And, just think, you get more content out of it.👍 I'll be watching you.😁
@@Wrenchen-with-Darren you know it. I have a couple projects to go through first of course. There always seems to be something to video with me so I rarely struggle for content. Just struggle with delivery. My recipe is all over the place a the best of times. I think my daughters are right... might have a touch of turbo ADHD hahaha
Hey, thank you for the shout out! Much appreciated. Excellent video breaking down the issues. And as for the stress of the job... spot on. I was near vibrating even before I picked up that stupid 3m gun. lol. But we push ourselves because we do love doing these things we do. Even pre-planning the spray pattern didn't work for me but I was already worried about the amount of product and the fun blowing apart so... I wish I had have had extra paint to recoat the way you did. That woulda made a big difference. But I'll fix it and keep going. Thanks for doing this video!
Yes, we push on and things usually work out pretty good.
Looks way better than black. Hate black bed liner on old pickups that aren't black.
Totally agree. Yea, a little more expensive but, worth it. This is my favorite truck so far. Thanks for your comments.
I’m obsessed!!!
@@cheddsNash 😁 I've been a little obsessed with it myself. Haha and thanks!!!
That turned out awesome! Looks amazing! Love the color match!
I love that color, always called it mustard yellow, more of a ford guy but I have a 78 c10 Spanish gold is a cool color
Thanks, my ford friend. If you are considering a spray in bed liner, you NEED to watch tomorrow's video. Spoiler alert, not good. But there's things to learn. 😂
Well when I inherit this baby I’ll love the dented hood that my dad dented 😉
You can hear the birds chirping. 🌸. Peaceful out there.
“It’s what I wanted and it’s my truck.” Does that mean it’s a keeper?! Next project… another barn.
Well, that depends on what my wife says.👍
Got the real life doc from cars over here 😂
Something about “Spanish Gold” sounds cool as hell.
I actually enjoy saying it at the start of the video's. 👍
Good looking truck
Thanks so much!!!!
Can I leave a high gloss primer as such without sealing? I rattle-canned my car a couple weeks ago and the fumes were a bit much for my setup. And my logic is I can repair it more easily if I don't seal the primer? It's really glassy with just the primer (2x Rustoleum) and I laid it on thick, about 12 cans.
Sorry, RUclips didn't show me your comment. Anyway, yes you can run it that way. But, sometimes you can get rust bleed through. A sealer is best. I will double check the 2x and get back to you. I'd love to see it.
Ok, according to rustoleum.... the 2x primer is a rust inhibitor. So, you should be good. I've never used rattle can pait for a Finnish before. But, I'm having fun finding ways to get a nice glossy finish. Good luck to you.👍
@@Wrenchen-with-Darren Sorry for my own delay. I also didn't get a notification. I had been meaning to get back to you in video form to show you the results and I keep getting further behind on other stuff. The top coat appears to take a bit of shine off. But what I noticed is the clear coat beads the water better, so I can only assume without the clear coat the paint job won't last as long. Such as it is my son already rode past the car on his tricycle and scratched it (hunter green 2x) down to the old periwinkle. I'll have to see at some point if scratches like this are possible to repair without too much sanding of the clear coat. I still feel that without the clear coat it would be much easier to fix. I'm hoping the sanding and prep I did for days on the periwinkle Matrix to paint it Hunt Green results in many years of beautiful paint, as I am otherwise very happy with the color. My truck which is silver is already chipping 1.5 years later, (only over the bottom strip of the tailgate and only right after I laid down some bed spray). Something in that Rustoleum seems to re-wet old paint or something, even if it's peripheral secondhand contact with the spray. Anyways for this particular job (the truck) I was just trying to cover up a green tailgate with silver and I didn't even sand it, so that was kind of expected. As an aside, too many layers of paint really seems to wrinkle up that 2x stuff. I was so happy with the first 2-3 coats, waited literally weeks for the clear coat lacquer and it still wrinkled up in places. Need to sand it and restore it in these places, but I might not as I am happy enough with how it turned out. Next time I will probably refrain from too many coats with that particular 2x stuff and move straight to clear coat within the hour rather than waiting. I don't know if you remember, I found you through Sean at Genetry. Seems like he's feeling down about the pace of things. It's tough waiting for paint to dry sometimes and dealing with all life's bs in the process, hope he finds a quick path to his desired result.
@wecharg yes, the clear coat will protect the paint much better, it also stops the oxidation. I think that is it's main purpose. More layers of paint/primer, definitely slows the cure process. I can't wait to see it. As far as our friend goes.... he in relatively new to the country life and he is super busy!!! But, he seems to be doing well and good spirits. 👍
Thanks for the shout out and can't wait to see the 72
