I love my Gold card. I can't see myself going to Platinum since I can't take advantage of all the credits as oppose to Gold which I use the two credits on GrubHub and Uber Eats every month. That $10 effective annual fee is a STEAL on the Gold level.

why do people make such low quality videos?

I've had the Gold American Express card for years and recently received offers to upgrade to the Platinum card. It would be helpful to have a video comparing the annual fee of the Platinum card to its benefits. Essentially, I'm looking to determine if the higher fee is justified.

I love my Amex Centurion card. It's been a great experience. After I wake up from my dream, I just use my Platinum.

Let’s add up the savings on a routine trip for two on United using the Infinite/club card. Two visits to clubs @ $59 each without the card total =$118 savings. TWO free bags, only including the charges for the second bags @ $50 each on outbound flite = $100 each way for two of us = $200 savings. One trip we saved $318 on a $525 credit card, and we have several more flights scheduled this year. President’s club comes with the card. How did we use it? I first ensured I was listed as a President’s club member on the Avis website. I then called Avis for a rental at Dulles, while having the COSTCO car rental tab open. COSTCO was $20 cheaper, and Avis would not match the price. At Dulles, how we made the rental made ZERO difference to my treatment as a President’s Club member. Finally - I am not sure why no one calculates the cost savings of the TWO free bag feature on this card, and the annual fee will pay for itself with two travelers in two or three trips, on baggage avoidance fees. The club access is basically provided at no cost in this scenario. The Quest card is also a good option if you do not desire visits to clubs.

Everything the specify as benefits is available on a pay basis. Nothing that they list I cannot get if I wanted it even though I have a std card.

I have both. Venture X is accepted more when traveling abroad usually. At home in the USA, acceptance is about equal.

A lot of countries outside of the United States don’t take Amex even if it’s the black card. I experienced this in South Africa.

AMEX Plat and Business Plat has 10 visits per year in 2025 for the Delta Sky Club.

What a lousy analysis and provided non sense value...i am an Amex personal and business holders. Capital X actually a better and keeper card. Contemplating cancel Amex platinum....easy $300 travel reimbursement and book a one way to Hawaii (with Turkish airline) from US. Instead of all the coupon clippings from Amex

I think I’d like to get this card because I don’t want to lose out on the chance to get it later on in my CC journey. I already enjoy all the benefits of the Amex platinum and savorone so I don’t know if this card is really needed. Will be interesting to see if they can keep the fees low.

never apply for any cap 1 card . it hard pull from all 3 buereau for every application, it is like wasting the resource of applying for 3 cards.

I am confused. You said alternatively, you can purchase lounge access for $695 a year after you spend $75,000 on an eligible card. I have a Delta reserve card and I was told that once I spend $75,000 on my card that lounge access is unlimited and free. Is there an alternative way to get this without having the reserve card? Can I downgrade to my DeltaSkyMiles card pay the fee and as long as I spend $75,000 I am able to get access?

Had platinum for 10+ years, and loved it but gave it up when they removed perks and increased the price. Yes, I miss that metal clanky feel, but I know it's just vanity. I'll wait for another card to come along some day to win me over.

People that uses the card credits to justify isn’t meant to have the card at the first place. You’re meant to put spend in that card for flight & hotel purchases and make use for their 5x multiplier.

Priority Pass has lost all lounge contracts in LAX. There is no lounge at all currently. It's very inconvenient for people who live in LA.

I'm not happy about the restrictions, but then again, lounge experience have been great lately with crowded lounges. Raising the entrance bar might actually be a good thing for those of us who can afford it.
