Winter in NZ brings snow to the Central Plateau and often to The Desert Road, a high alpine road in the central area of The North Island. This is the most snow I've seen driving through and the road was closed just after we headed across.

Wow, you show your ignorance. Take a look around your own home and vehicles etc. You will find most are made in China or have significant parts made in China. GWM are not owned or operated by CCP.

How do I reset my TPMS because it's full but one shows red under pressure but it's perfect
I have the same problem - very annoying! (Sorry don't have a solution)
@@Yaros83 Sometimes if it's cold its low pressure, if hot shows high pressure, so i take out the air and then pump again
@@rabimokoena4511 I recently replaced my tyres so that should have reset it. As soon as the pressure gets to 39 or 40 psi the alarm goes off, even tho that is within normal operating range.

Whangamomona rd changes month to month it is closed over winter for preservation , last labor weekend ( opening day) the taranaki family 4x4 club done a working b carting trailer loads of 100mm rock fill in to a large hole at the bridge just past the tunnels and a culvert that had washed out about a kilometre further along the track, over 2 days two Diggers a tractor a bulldozer and half a dozen 4x4s with trailers. The bulldozer managed to winch two vehicles out of the river along the first section of track, all in all we managed to haul in around 16 cubic meters of metal
A huge thanks to all the work your club does. I'd be very reluctant to try that track again, even in summer. I did wonder about tackling it, but was assured it'd be fine. Lesson learnt, the hard way.

You guys are so lucky you didn’t come to grief out there. I hope you all learned a valuable lesson that day and do some proper research before tackling tracks outside your local area. This track is well known as been a very difficult track anytime outside of mid summer and requires a better than average setup truck. There is a good reason we all drive lifted 4x4’s with good MT tyres in Taranaki if we like to go off road. That papa is everywhere in Taranaki and is like ice when it gets wet. It takes lots of skill and good gear to navigate it safely.
You are very correct, we were advised by the organizers that it was a great track, he'd done it several times and checked it out. Total lies. We were even warned by the local publican not to do it. We all thought it was just a back country gravel road. Honestly, at one stage I was just going to walk out and leave my ute there for someone in summer to have. Taught me a huge lesson.
At least you all got out safely and without too much damage to your vehicles. That track is never easy even in the hight of summer. As its part of my back yard iv done it probably 50 times in 25 years on foot, on dirt bikes and in 4x4’s and its always slippery, muddy and very scratchy on paintwork. If its not shown as a formed road on google maps it generally requires some personal research but i saying that i think you now know that. It sucks you have a horrible time and got led up the garden path at the same time but what an experience at the end of the day. Not many people can say they have been though something like that and finished it off and then drove away. Hats off to you and your crew.

With the money saved from buying a cannon. You can go some serious mud tyres. A nice lift kit. Rock sliders and maybe a winch, if you're planning on tackling this kind of extreme wet conditions. But good on ya for having a crack at it. Well done.

This has to be done by the service centre unless you have an analyser tool to do it your self.

No, just press the menu button again to exit, you can also reset the trip meter by just pressing "OK" when it is showing.

Yes, just move your finger over to the hour numbers and scroll, same for dates etc.

Thanks for that Ian. We'd driven a little way up there but couldn't find anywhere to pull over so turned around. Great to see that there should be some places to pull over further up, I'll check it out when we are there next month.
