Paradise Lost (lies unopened beside me) | Trailer
There is a possibility that God made everything because he was terrified of doing nothing.
Paradise Lost (lies unopened beside me) (2015) is a re-telling of the story of the beginning of everything inspired by Milton’s epic poem - told through words, music and the easily misunderstood medium of dance.
A show for anyone who has ever created anything (a child, a garden, a paper aeroplane) and then had to watch that wonderful thing spiral out of control.
★★★★★ ‘The comedy is divine, but the images of love and loss are achingly human’ The Independent
★★★★★ ‘A heavenly new take on Milton’ Evening Standard
Presented by Lost Dog

Paradise Lost (lies unopened beside me) Trailer
This was the most exciting, innovative, and creative performance I've seen in many a year. The acting...brilliant. The choreography...stunning.
Thank you so much for coming to see the show and for you this lovely feedback. It's always great to hear that people have enjoyed the show.
I accidentally stumbled upon a (almost) full recording of this performance.a couple of years ago.I have seen it several times, but now it´s lost.... Just want to say it´s one of the best performances I have ever seen! Thank you! Please record it! Love/ Karin Siljeholm, Sundbyberg, Sweden
I would love to see the whole thing. Ben is amaaaaaaazing!
“Looking backwards to understand going forwards” :) love it !!! When and where is it on Ben ?
brilliant , it was time for someOne to put it into words x
I'd like to walk and talk...
What an incredibly powerful conversation starter, I’m liking the imagery of the “shield” and our own society of “shielded”. How easily it might be to perceive that this is about death, when perhaps it is about loss / and if so, what loss. This MUST be part of a therapeutic conversation and not just about whether theatres will open again or not. The tangible evidence of how difficult it is right now to “feel what you are feeling” - is all around us. Bless you for saying and embodying what many of us in the therapeutic world are feeling.
Bravo! Plus excellent choice of music - "Dido's Lament". Transported me right to "The Man Who Cried", a film which, among many deep topics, perfectly captures the magic of theatre! Rows of red velvet seats in the dark will forever be my home!
Hi Ben, really great show! We all sat through the whole thing... Best wishes, Robin
really interesting ( : the contrast between the humour at the beginning and the sense of being lost and down at the end were really captivating for me, the ending was especially powerful
nice vid! -MustardProphet

Brilliant! From one choreographer to another...I am here and real...and I haven't climbed over, under or squeezed past anyone to leave....!
