Blessed Assurance - cello solo
This is my version of Blessed Assurance, in the style of the Issacs, recorded on 7 Jul 2024. Sorry that the picture freezes sometimes...the equipment at my church was having some issues today. This is with my new Aubert french bridge, which has improved the sound of my A string. It is still not exactly what I want for sound, and will maybe try a new A string next.

Playing at my church Service 30 May 2021
flunked out of music school and lost all motivation, after 8 years im trying to find the courage again. thank you for sharing!
I liked it
Your melody is so slow and iratic it's sometimes difficult to recognize this great hymn, Blessed Assurance. Generally, you play quite in tune though.
very intelligently conducted - felt like i was in the middle of a tom sawyer novel
Thank you. I need to remove the rear door panel on our Lexus to reconnect the inside door opener cable.
Crystal clear!
This is so helpful, my child is just starting Cello and I had no idea how to put it in the car
What's the name of the cello or the link to get to the site to buy it?

I think I want a cello for Christmas next year!
Well done
I am picking up the same in a 7/8. Super excited! Thank you for sharing!
Good luck! I am still happy with mine. The varnish stinks for a week or so, but then no smell at all. Also, the varnish is a little soft and never really gets hard. Mine is 3.5 years old now and sounds better than when new (as expected). No cracks or seams opened, but I keep a humidifier near it in the winter.
Thank you for your great help.
Thank you so much for this video! Super helpful
Super cool
That's awesome 🎉
Hi just found your video. Fantastic. Kevin price.
Great video. Thank you.
Plastic cellophane in a Lexus???....oh mom.....into Volkswagen only iron and bolts!!!
You sounded good to me. I'm 53 years old and I picked up the cello in 2006 and had a very fragmented journey learning to play. I still can't play vibratos, but I will try even if it kills me.
Thanks. The key is to get into a small group and play together. 1) You cannot hide in a small group (unlike a big orchestra), so you a forced to learn your notes. 2) It is very enjoyable and encouraging to play with others. Just have fun, and the best of luck to you.
I really wanna learn cello, but so expensive
It doesnt have to be I bought a cecilio 500 on amazon for about $450 dollars And to be honest its not great but it isnt poor either Obviously something that cheap should be used to learn on until you could get something better but even playing on something so cheap I've improved my playing and sound tremendously since day 1 Another option is alot of music stores may offer a rent to own program where you pay 50 to 75 per month for an instrument
I thought Lexus ES's come with a ski trap...couldn't you have put your cello in through there?
Great video explanation. Going to save me a lot of pain (and probably the frustration of minor interior damage on my lovely Lexus!)
Merry Christmas!! 🎄
🎄
Great!! Merry Christmas!!! ...and Happy Llama too!
Great you guys!! Merry Christmas!! ..and Happy Llama!
Very nice, Alan!
Thanks Nancye
Beautiful job!
Thanks!
Cello sounds great!! Good choir too!
Beautiful!!!
Thanks a million for the tip about installing the seal on the door first before replacing the panel. I was really struggling to re-install the panel before I viewed your video. Saved me a trip to the dealership.
Glad I could help
Looks great, though I would put a coat of sealer over the paint after it fully sets.
May i ask what’s the name of the church?
Hi. Cary Presbyterian Church in Cary, NC, USA
RX 350 driver here, this should help get rid of this rattle on my driver side rear door. :)
Very easy and amazing explanation how remove the panel door . Thank you Sr.
Thanks Alan
Lovely, thank you!
How funny, my new cello case arrived today. I couldn't afford a good quality hard case, so I did some research and decided to get the best soft case. Big improvement over the one that came with the cello.
Good for you. I have a cello sitting in the corner for the past four years. Got one with the idea of at least learning one song. Similar deal, haven't played since high school. Am wondering how much of it will come back. Will be interested to watch your progress.
Great job!
Hi thanks for your video, I removed the panel to manually get my stuck window up and closed it’ll go up 75% of the way but not higher. I can’t seem to figure it out at need my car for work. I know it’s a strange request but is there any way i could FaceTime you for some guidance to get this job done??
Hi. Sorry, but I sold this car over 2 years ago, and I forget a lot of the details. I leave it up here because it seems to continue to help people. Perhaps someone else here with knowledge of the window track can help.
@@MelloCelloFello ah no worries. I put the door back on and have the window sealed with plastic till I can bring it on Monday. Thanks for the video though! Yeah definitely leave it up it was very helpful.. would’ve taken me much longer to get it on and off
Wonderful instrument!
Your progress is staggering!! Hope I'll be close to this in several years.
Thanks for the kind words. I ain't special...what I have done, you can too. One of the keys (other than, of course, practice a lot), is to get into a group (duet, quartet, orchestra, cello ensemble, etc). It makes it fun, and gives you a reason to practice.
@@MelloCelloFello Thanks a lot for your advice ☺️
Great vibrato, well done!!!!
Yes, your current Kallo Bartok cello sounds much more pleasing. I am a total beginner but remain hopeful. I have just subscribed. Thank you for sharing!!
Xeaesz you to get your phone back from your mom
Beautifully played!!
Beautifully played!!
Thank you for making this video. My previous cello had a previous hidden repair and the luthier explained why it is not worth fixing, it is an old cello, yet not a good model cello. I am renting one and it seems so different. It is new. My old cello had a robust c string with a little buzz and my A string always seemed to be a little shrill-ish. The new rented cello has a very nice tone on the G string. I look forward to playing it as I have been busy at work. This may sound strange but this cello seems to have a different personality. Not better or worse - just a different feel. I previously played the violin as a kid and I have recently started playing music during 2020. I have changed instruments previously (even the violin) and I do not remember such individuality as per instrument. My 1st cello was gifted to me so I have never purchased a cello. I do not have a teacher I watch videos, I am on Suzuki Book 3 Cello. My vibrato seems to come naturally. I am pressured to play for family and friends and I lack confidence as my formal training was in violin and clarinet. I can not believe how much I love playing the cello. Eventually if Covid ends and I have time (I work 12 hour shifts and also part time (side-hustle) paralegal job, I hope to take a few lessons in person with a real teacher. I also loved my perfection pegs from my 1st cello, I live in a humid beach town and the pegs came in handy. I am nervous about purchasing a cello - thank you for making this video.
Cathy, yes every cello seems to have its own personality. A lot can depend on the strings being used too. If your A string is too shirll-ish, consider a Jargar A or a synthetic such as the D'Addario Pro-Arte. They both are known for a warmer sound. Another quick fix is to put a clothes peg sideways on the bridge, just below the A string. I highly recommend taking lessons from a teacher. If you are in the RTP NC area, I can recommend a couple. As for the nervousness, confidence comes from repeatedly playing for others...it does get (slightly) easier, the more you do it. Consider joining a quartet with people that are at a similar skill level to yours. It is fun, and it builds confidence. There are also cello conferences you can attend, like Cello Chill, where you will learn a ton of stuff on how to play better. Keep it up!
@@MelloCelloFello Thank you !
Enjoy music!!! And Happy Holidays -!!!
