I just discovered how great Hartmann is the other day, especially his piano music is spectacular, such as this or the sonata in d minor.
I Love this Alkan's Étude, very very mucho. This music is a one my favorites Alkan's piano pieces

Yes, Bortkiewicz was influence by other composers but so what? Every composer was influenced by others. He was probably the last great Romantic before "modern" music rose. Hearing this I think of Brahms (perhaps due to the pianist).
