A circle is a uniform circular shape whereas an ellipse is more oval shaped.

@tellNadia A circle has the same distance from the edge to the center all the way around, while with an ellipse it varies. Ellipses also have two "focal points," which I would have difficulty explaining what they are to you; google it I suppose. :)
