How do you change the batteries?
The first reviewer who puts out an real honest review on these Mini Maglite Pro's or Pro +. Now 7 years later in 2023 the newest model is the Pro model with 332 lumens. There is an Pro + model but with just slightly more lumens at 250 lumens but hugely more price. I own 3 of these Pro models with 332 lumens. The Pro model has now high/low settings while the low is about 100 lumens and high really brights up the place with it's 332 lumens. Yes I noticed already the batteries get depleted pretty quick and in no way they last 2:30 hours like it stated on the box. I stopped the time and got with fully charged NiMH 2000 mAH batteries 1:10 hours of continuous light emission before the battreries died completely. So the reviewer is right these are more for around the house instead of doing tasks at the farm at night in an remote place. Since these batteries die on you after about 1 hour on high. On low indeed the light is a bit weak for tasks at nights specially in an snake infested countryside. I ordered these with high light emission because I wanted to see snakes if they lay in front of me in the gras if I happen to have to walk on the gras at night. But on the farm a little night task takes easily over 1 hour and so I would end up allways with an dead flashlight middle in the night. I own other 4D flashlights from Maglite which I installed in an 520 lumens LED bulb. That lasts me as well a bit over 1 hour (maybe 1:30 hours) but emits much more light at 520 lumen. I had already one Coast HP1 gone bad on the aluminum threads which stripped from using daily over 3 years. That is because Coast does not anodyse their flashlights. MagLite anodyses their flashlights so they are way more durable than other brands. That is the reason I went back to Maglite on all of my flashlights. Anodysing makes the flashlights way more durable and these MagLites are fully repairable and can be opened completely besides to have an uttermost simple switch mechanism and the LED or bulb can be changed. Besides that they work with NiMH rechargeable batteries. Yes MagLite is overpriced but Coast jumped up the pricing as well quit a bit. The anodysing made for me the difference and the repairability.

Trying to find out how to change battery. The guy just talks about what he wants. Maybe advertising.
it is not led, it is L E D (Light emitting diode)
Great video verry detailed keep it up most arnt this
L E D, not lead.
Had this thing since childhood. Honestly just great, used it on field trips, outdoors and on sleepovers as well as for a bike light. Now it's in my bag so I'll have it handy whenever I go out, still use it on my bike and also for mechanics stuff like fixing my car. Actually also really decent range, well enough to make sure there was nobody creeping in dashing distance in the shadows of a truck stop with no lights when I had car troubles once. Toughness is also nice, dropped it down a couple staircases. I recommend the leather holster too. Honestly it's just so nice to be absolutely certain you'll have light everytime you turn it on. Not every flashlight can provide that. Also just like the design in general, not weird, unessecary corners. It's just a tube and it makes light without switching through 18 stupid light modes you never use anyways.
I purchased this today. I think it has a newer led inside it nowadays. I hope I like it 😊
They work well but very expensive for the price you said 10-11$ how bout more like 30$ what they are going for today never seen them for price you mentioned even way back then you may as well buy the AA led mag.
I just a 100 lumen one off Amazon for $14.50, $15.48 with tax.
Plus for $11.00 I bought a push button end cap so I can use it one hand, and no long have to readjust the head of the flashlight.
i have one of that charger so if i bring energizer rechargeable batteries will it be good?
That candle mode is critical
These are really hard to find now days
Try Brightguy website.
that f-ing dog damn that dog damn damn damn
Do you still using it? How its performance after 5 years??
I am a LED's and flashaholic too 😁
Great review man!!
Why my lights yellow? Can i get white colour?
Because its not an led maglight, the yellow lighting is a basic mag they are very cheap i dont even use the yellow lighted ones anymore.
the batteries are stuck, how to remove them???
Hey there. Sometimes heat can cause things to swell up and get stuck . Remove all parts that you can until you have the main battery tube. Then try cooling it down in the freezer for 5-10 min. Also use an industrial magnet to try to pull the battery out enough to then be able to use pliers.if that fails you'll have to get creative with some wd40 and a lot of force. Hope your problem gets solved. Stay safe.
How to change it's LED bulb?
Ok look it's not "lead." It's L---E--D, that is elll -- eeee-- dee
Have you ever said "laser"? If so, you've also pronounced an acronym.
@@kinguin7 That's 2 extra letters, you start sounding crazy when you spell out more than 3 letters
Have the same one 100 lumens.....great light...use energizer ultimate lithium....they will never leak.....last forever...don't risk it with the batteries it comes with....they are garbage.
Duracell aren't garbage... but I also use the ultimate lithium
Recently I saw that Nextorch had a professional flashlight with high performance, called Dr. K3Pro.See this paragraph in their product introduction. leIt features dual light sources, multi modes, type-C charging, memory mode and pupil scale on the surface. Dual light sources and various brightnesses provide more comfortable and useful diagnosis experience, to avoid overmuch glare in eye examination and insufficient light in oral examination. Its yellow light is exempted of blue light hazard, RG0, which means no hurt to eyes when aiming the light at eyes, to protect patients' eyes and avoiding medical personnel using the light source with excessive blue light. With color rendering index, Ra > 95, K3Pro ensures high degree of color reduction, able to help medical personnel make judgments efficiently and accurately by truly presenting the status of lesions. No matter what problems come up on the way to the growth of children, pharyngitis, cold, fever and stumble, etc., Dr. K3Pro will help you a lot in examining their throat, eyes and injuries. www.aliexpress.com/item/4000714513013.html
I like Maglite, I wish to use them. However they Unfortunately have not kept up with technology and even Machining processes. I have moved over to various other brands. I still like AA torches as I can leave them for extended periods knowing the battery would be fine even in extreme temperatures. Yet, Other brands offer latest LED technology, fully waterproof designs. Glass non reflective glass, and sometimes materials such as titanium, brass, copper and stainless with the traditional Aluminium variants. Maglite could have created many new designs. I would have liked a Maglite in a different material, or use different batterys such as the 18650 for 26650 type. Even the Cr123 type keeping the original design as they wouldn't have had to change the design to do this. Apologise for the rant, it's just a shame when you have grown up with maglite pre Led age and started to collect their torches. You want them to succeed, and buy their products. But for double the cost without batterys and the issues I mentioned. I think Maglite is finally doomed.
thx for review!
Great light
What mode should we use daily basis or outing without having any issues?
Отличный обзор!
I know this is an old video but they are under $8 bucks today on Amazon. I ordered 3. Good review.
You should do a vid on the new 4D 1002 lumen Maglite. 434hr claimed battery life on eco.
That holster is sooo low budget. Why would maglite pair a premium priced products with a case that costs 10 cents?
You guys got to try the 332 lumen version
your a maglite fan....thedy okay but you can find better, ofcourse the new 332 lumen is alot but by my comparision i did compare maglite 332 lumens vs HP7R 300 lumens by coast led. You wil know that the hp7r is way more brighter too brighter to even compare to the maglite 332 lumens. The lens on the reflector of the maglite is too small and design is bad, the way when you focus your light in the sky to make it into a intense beam, your losing alot of the light hiding in the reflector. While the coast hp7r is collecting alot more light when you zoom in max and yes time brighter then maglite. Maglite are not doing there best create good reflector, I be honest fenix is better choice then maglite though it cost alot there reflector design beat the maglite.
@@mollies13 Coast won't last. None of the Chinese lights do.
@@nonjaninja4904 .....again do I have to see made in china....? it doesn't matter if it made in china america germany thaiwan or whatever region. Held my Sony WX80 for 2 years, until it broke but cause I broke accidently it not the product to be blame of. Another camera is made in china Canon elph 100 lasted me 7 years until some friend some broke it.... does it matter if it made in china?
@Rakeem Foster does it matter?
@Rakeem Foster Okay, I agree with you. American trust btw is (LED LENSER) a chinese product or german made?
I have a spare bulb in my AAA Mini Maglite, I'm hoping it's the solution to getting it working again. Wouldn't have seen it there without watching your vid!
Oh, on the Duracell batteries, I would toss them early and buy no more. For some reason, D, C, and AA, and possibly other Duracell batteries leak like crazy. They have ruined numerous good flaslights and other devices for me, in the past. The only thing I would trust in Duracell are the CR123A lithium batteries. Today, for D, C, AA, AAA, I almost always buy Energizers.
Duracells have never leaked for me.
I have had several of the incandescent Mini-Mag's over the years. Last one I bought was probably 25 years or more, ago. My gripe with them, was that after an hour or two's use, the incandescent wheat bulb would develope a silver colored lining inside the forwardmost three quarters or so of the bulb glass. This resulted in a greatly reduced lumen/candlepower output. Replacing the bulb would remedy the weakened output, but only for a couple of hours or less, before the silver coating manifested on the bulb's glass interior. This was the reason I stopped buying Mini Mag Lites. I recently bought a Mini in LED and as expected, the reduced power is not an issue, thanks to LED technology. Anyone know if more recent incandescent versions improved on the silver crud on the inside of the bulbs?
Mine is going on 4 years old and still rocking!
I have the incandescent one. Not bad for 9 bucks, and it's just right for pocket carry. Goes well with my Leatherman PST😃👍
Cool doggo.
**I bought a TK41 U2 in 2012. It was the upgraded version of the original, with a slight brightness increase from 800L to 860L, but it was the same light otherwise.** It came in an AWFUL plastic case that is so frustratingly difficult to fit the light into. It did not come with any holster either, so it's just too large and heavy to carry every day, even if it had a holster. Its got the XM-L U2 LED, which in combination with its larger reflector, results in a light with a very small and concentrated hot spot, and good throw. Its spill beam is also comparably small, so it's not your best choice of indoor use emergency light. Its best stored at home or work, and used outdoors.
Check out the s2r 2 from olight way smaller way brighter
Smaller and brighter is not better.
Very very nice
That goddamn dog should be glad it doesn’t live in a country where Lassie is on the fuckin’ menu. Great review on the AA mag-lites. Thanks!
