However, we continued to import oil from many places all over the world...but the huge majority of it comes from Canada and Mexico...with only about 12 percent from OPEC, mostly Saudi with about a further third of what the Saudis send us coming from Iraq. But in 2020 we got more oil from Russians than from the Saudis. Of course, we do still keep a potentially gigantic amount of possible oil reserves completely off limits by outlawing even exploration for oil in such vast areas of US territory...and that in itself keeps energy prices higher than they need to be.

There really is not much of an argument that Germany could have won WW2, just about all the scenarios about how they could have are flawed, and the ones that are not are too unrealistic. They would have to not only do everything right, they would have to not be Schmazis, and they would need foreknowledge of things that would happen in the future. Unless you remove one of the 3 main Allies from the war relatively early on, Germany would always lose...and if you remove one of the big 3 Allies the war is no longer World War 2, it is something different.👍

The German war machine wasn't only mismanaged but also flawed and although there are arguments that could be made that they could have won WW2 the main issue was that Germany always had an issue of manpower as well as lack of resources.
