And I remember people was questioning Portugals win when he was first in both! People always will be disappointedj
Sadly agree
This was supposed to be best year! Song wise it was, but all the scandals((( Nemo is precious❤ Did not expect them to win just because people was so crazy about Croatia, but I’m so happy for them! People are always vote for strange or crazy song and then we hear hoe Eurovision is circus (no hate to anyone, love crazy songs)
On all points: Joost: He probably did something significant and his behaviour in the press conference showed that he knew he is in trouble. There was an emergency conference including 10 reps of various member broadcaster and they all agreed for disqualification. Usually the EBU always finds solutions and gives a slap on the wrist so something big had to happen. Israel: Israel didn't break any rules so it should compete. Toxic people are not the ones to decide who should compete. Israel's points: The Jewish diaspora in most European countries is insignificant. It's significant only in France, Belgium and the UK. It's caused more by the fact that Israel got injected to the culture war will all the protests many of which are ugly. For example, recently the German pro-Palestine protesters started carrying signs demanding turning Germany into a Caliphate. The public won't stand for that. Nemo: I personally didn't like it that much but it's not the point. The point is that the jury didn't just give him first place but said it's the best act in a decade which is not so. He got the highest jury points per jury then any act since the current system. Looks very very fishy and Marko should be the winner (I personally voted for Ukraine in the televote, I like that style).
Thanks for your opinion. I still stand behind everything I said. Will not be against removal of jury, but their points make sense to me. Anyway who is winner is not a big deal. Just like last year soon everyone move on
Love from israel❤
some votes for Ukraine every year may be pity points but they deserve them, they never disappoint as for Israel its really obvious that 90% of the votes that it got were because of the war the, song was terrible.
I agree. And pity points is just a human factor. But Israel was good too. Terrible in my gradation is off-key with random sounds for music
Honestly I thought it was pretty good. And I think Switzerland really deserved the first place. It wasn't my choice, but I was 100% sure it was going to win since I think they had actually the best song. I chose Armenia, not really because music was better, it was really not, but because it was just kind of style I'm currently into. I got total lols from Ireland and my mom complaining about satanism stuff :D On Israel, my position honestly has always been pretty neutral. Not that what that situation isn't horrible, but because the situation is pretty complicated, I have read quite a bit about the issue recently and honestly didn't make me change my mind. Ultimately, if Hamas disbands/gets wiped out, Israel chills current actions and stops expanding settlements and I would be happy. I was felt kinda bad for all the boos in their face. But at the same time I was kinda surprised about all the votes they got. After all, sentiment isn't really for them.
100% agree with everything. Armenia was cool and authentic! Loved them too. Thought Switzerland was my choice I easily pictured them 3 behind Croatia and Italy/France. My mom did not watched this year, but when I messaged her she said “there is nothing to watch, only naked men”. So she know about Finland and Spain probably too😄 Better keep Ireland away probably
After 22 years of following the Eurovision, I was completely devastated and almost didn't even watch the finals. My mother didn't watch in protest either because they kicked out Joost, and she is from Serbia, she isn't even Dutch....xD so it tells a lot .... Also, Israel got points from their diaspora. If you check the countries that gave them 12 points they are all countries with a high Jewish population ...if you check comments online of who was defending the song, it's 99% of Jewish people.....the song is OKAY; but if it were any other country it would've been lower than top 15
To be honest, whatever happened with Joost, it was a civil dispute that he would've solved after the contest. EBU didn't have to disqualify him. He didn't beat anybody up. In such a harsh and fast-paced setting, it's bound to happen that emotions will run high and that at some point you'll cry, scream, laugh, get pissed off etc. I truly doubt that he was the first person to ever get into conflict with the stage crew ever in the history of Eurovision....So...let's call it what it is...he was disqualified over his disdain for Israel and then the crew set him up. Another thing to add was that more than 10 other countries complained about the horrific situation during the contest, with the most recent complaints being from Estonia. Even Teya Dora from Serbia commented on it in Serbian (she basically said "we all know what had happened but what can you do...")...
That's just not true, you're trying to cope really hard here and it's obvious. Finland: about 1000 jews. Italy: 45,000. Portugal: 5000 top. Spain: about 20,000. Sweden: 15,000. France, Autralia and UK are the only countries who count around or more than 100k jews, but sure. I voted for Israel 15 times and I'm not jewish. Eden Golan happened to be the best performer in my opinion, and I also wanted to show jewish people that a lot of us aren't down with the antisemitism train you're all riding at the moment.
Agree with opinion about Israel song not being winner material. Beautiful, with touching lyrics especially with story behind and good vocals, but there was a lot of really good songs this year. About the Netherlands - really looks like overreaction and obviously no one benefits from that. Eurovision only lose. But again: I’m not making statements about something I don’t know. Can imagine the tension building not only on that week, but much earlier. Really sad outcome. But what’s done can’t be undone. Hopefully we will not see something like that again.
@@nobadguy1115 France 440,000, UK 292,000, Australia 118,000, Germany 118,000....Other countries that gave them 12 points also have them in tens of thousands....if most of them were to send 20 messages (and they DID vote, judging by the comment section in Facebook group, oh they're LOUD and PROUD), then it'd be enough to outweigh the general public. If you check the comment sections of other countries' nationals, 99 % people DIDN'T vote for it.
This year eurovision was worst ever. Politics, corruption (which is standard) this year hit max. First Netherlands disqualification which was totally unfair. Then you have satan rituals from Ireland, Switzerland which had 22 juries give 12 points as they were ordered to do so. Israel coudnt win because politics and situation in Gaza and they wanted someone "neutral" that been Switzerland, EBR is from Swiss, how strange. Baby Lasagna who was the favorite of the public and should win was robbed of victory. You can see from Pluto that he is robbed. Nemo is very talented but he didn't deserve to win. I guess promting sotonism, naked people, LGBT community is what is eurovision all about. It was suppose to be "family" show. I guess that was lost over the years. Sry Sasha but your top songs are wrong. Eurovision 2024 had only one winner and that is Baby Lasagna! As i always said there can be wars in the world, but that should not interfere with Eurovision, there should not be politics there, and yet there is. You should watch how Baby Lasgana was welcomed back to Croatia, like a true winner he is.
Imagine saying someone that their top is wrong) It still songs that I included in my playlist and really enjoy cause art is subjective. And with all respect I do not think Israel song really was capable to win even on peaceful year. And all hate around actually kept some attention on them which is good for promoting. Even in this comment section people admit voting for Israel feeling injustice towards her. Saw a lot of that in inst as well. Croatia was crazy loved by fans and media and I expected them to win while voting for Switzerland. Cause I really do not mind not my favorites winning. I just wanna enjoy music. And on my opinion there were a few countries (Croatia included) deserving (and capable) to win. Marko should be proud cause he’s second with pretty small difference. And btw why anyone would plot against Croatia? Especially if their win can bring back some other Balkan countries. Croatia was most safe winner if anyone wanted to play the results. Poor Nemo now thrown under the bus. But I explained my point of view about jury, their points made sense to me. Tele-vote too. Unless you have real proofs. And point about EBU being originally Swiss irrelevant too. No one saw problem while they was losing last 35 years. They should not compete then? And I did believe in “there should be no politics in art/sport etc”. But recently I finally faced that it sadly can’t be archived. Politics is literally in everything, it influence our views. Being inside of one war I really care about peoples side in it before supporting them. There is nothing not-political for me anymore. Just when there is no big conflicts people not see politic affects, but it is still do.
@@PandAlex It is as it is. Entire world knows that EBU wanted Switzerland to win. This eurovision had the most scandals ever. Countries disqualified under false accusations, countries robbed. In end winner should be the one loved by public not jury. Nemo may be loved by jury but he was not loved by public. Baby Lasagna won the hearts of Europe and world and he was only one winner (possibly French to). I hate when politics enter into everything sadly it always does.I may not like Nemo but i do respect his talent because he is talented, I would be wrong if i said otherwise. But he didn't deserve to win.
Still I stand behind everything I said. We don’t know what really happened with Joost. He is silent too. Whole world doesn’t even know about Eurovision, let alone EBU. Too much scandals, but pretty good year in music factor. If you like conspiracy theories okay. I watched Eurovision for music and will continue to do that, with ‘The Code’ and few more in my every day playlist)
Ireland's satanism stuff was pretty fun ;D Nemo was definitely the best best song. On other hand what made me totally baffled is France. It was nice song but utterly basic love ballad/song, just very forgettable. Personally I voted for Armenia because I'm quite into stuff like Celtic and all kinds of "fantasy" like music. I knew Swiss would win though. I'm pretty neutral on Israel politically, I'm from west so I think Israel should come out of this conflict as intact strong nation, but at the same time I just think they are getting what they deserve. Ultimately they are not looking for solutions, they are pressing their advantage and slowly taking more territory. On other hand Hamas is much worse, but they don't have nearly as much capacity for violence or control over the region. As for their song, it was like France, pretty forgettable, though France was maybe bit better in that category. And I just have to point out that politics has always been a thing in Eurovision. It was literally formed as kind of political event to a degree and political votes have always been a thing.
The hate against nemo is really really terrible! So much hate! For such a lovely, talented and humble artist. Even in Switzerland the articles about him are spewed with hate comments. I am ashamed for my fellow citizens. Thank you for your balanced and well thought out opinion
That’s really sad. Nemo is such a sweetheart( Apparently sometimes better to lose( And even though Nemo was one of my favorite and I really wanna protect them now, I don’t think hating back on other artist whose fans (probably) come after Nemo is acceptable. I do not hate anyone. And hope artists themselves (most of them at least) respect each other. Hope soon all that mess will be left behind
Humble? He received the award wearing a crown of thorns. That's extremely disrespectful.
Irelands singer put the crown on Nemo. She wore it during her performance and put it on his head when he won as a sign for friendship and respect. So yes very humble and loving.
Sorry, but how accessory can be disrespectful? Okay, some can. But this specific one?
@@oliviacharlottemortimer6498 The symbol itself is extremely disrespectful to Christians.
Sorry to see you attracting abuse for your opinions. Pretty much proves your point. I found your opinions to be thoughtful and nuanced 👍
Well, people just share opposite opinion. Nothing really bad happening in this comment section) Can be worse. If anything I was prepared even though I stand middle ground in all of this dramas)
Eden was super strong and professional. Some other artists were really hateful and was hard to watch all of them being so fake and virtual signalling. Some of them gay and queer seriously they know what ham@s does to people like them? ham@s oppress these gazans. Imagine what Gaza would look like if the multibillionaire leaders of ham@s would have only focused on building and making their civilians lives better insted of saving their billions to themselves, building underground tunnels where they hide under their civilians AND on ATTACKING and invading on october 7 there wouldnt be bombing . Also the people are not aware at all about the gazans because of the false media narrative. The majority of Palestinians in gaza support hamas and, therefore, are a threat to Israel and the IDF. When we see hamas proudly showing off an innocent young deceased Israeli woman and shouting ”allahu akbar” in the back of a truck, half naked, and so-called innocent Palestinian civilians crowding, cheering, and falling all over themselves just to get for a chance to spit on this poor young woman, it justifiably causes intelligent people to question the innocence of the so-called innocent Palestinian civilians.
So you wanna NOT kick Israel of the competion. But you want them to live by their own choice?...No...They had permission to parcipate. What's the issue?? So they shouldn't be forced to leave like Russia, but you still want them out??
If any artist ready to face that reaction, they free to participate. Can’t imagine this not have some damage on their mental health. And I see no real way to shut down the crowd. I know I am really tick-skinned now. I just wanted to have one delusional week like there is something good in this planet.
This is such victim blaming, I’m sorry but if you get to the point that an allegation was made against you, and this allegation gets to the point it makes you get kicked out of the competition, something has gone really wrong there and there is no reason to try to justify it just because you are a fan. Eden Golan was under so much pressure literally the entire time she was there, no other contestant ever felt like the most HATED country in the Eurovision and why? Because of pure politics. This is not the place for politics and Eden did an amazing job staying positive and professional literally the entire time. With all the respect and you look like a nice and smart woman, but you have no idea what you are talking about. This is pure victim blaming and so not ok. The only negative vibe was brought from those who were against Israel being in the competition.
Whatever. This Eurovision fucked up on so many levels. I wanna stay in the middle ground cause I’m not answering for anyone’s actions, I don’t know every person there and even wasn’t there. The Netherlands story included. I still do not think Israel should be out of the competition. But I don’t know any good way to shut up booing crowd either, except do not give them a reason. So it is a circle.
The bullying and harassment Eden from Israel had to face just encouraged people to vote for her. And the song is good, it's generic but in a good way and the chorus is catchy. Also if you listen closely to the lyrics you might even get emotional 😉
I did listen to that song not once. It is a beautiful song with important story. I fully understand the emotions behind it. Thought I did become basically thick-skinned to most of the things in last 2 years, so…
Even if all jews around tge world voted for israel it would never worth 323 points, there arent many jews around tge world lije muslims or christians so what you are saying is not logic
Actually you can be surprised. I was referring not to religion but ethnicity (I might have used wrong word though). I did not even knew some of my friends was partly Jews (atheist or even Christian) and last year 2 of them go through repatriation program and now live in Tel Aviv with Israel passports. Learn Hebrew as well. Not following religion. Few thinking about do the same but they are terrible with languages. Even I apparently had Jews in my family, thought not that close to obtain a passport. And my close friend is from Odessa region of Ukraine and they are known in post Soviet Union countries for being mostly Jews down there)
@@PandAlex i get you but still 323 its a lot of points, it cant be just the jews or half jews, eden was an amazing singer with super strong vocals and stage presence, combining all together made her get this amount of points if you ask me
That too obviously. Just considering all controversy we can’t really know how many people voted for what reason and how many ignored her entrance by different reason too.
@@PandAlex thats true
Eden/Israel came to compete in a song competition. Blame the protestors yelling outside and the ones booing her inside for giving ''a bad vibe''. Same goes for other contestant who put out a show like Greece in the press room (the Greek government denounced her behavior).
Go on Greek news and they say otherwise😂😂
A small comment about the Dutch representative. I didn't get the impression that this was some international star. They say Shitzu dogs see the reflection of a lion in the mirror. Perhaps the Dutch singer whose name I no longer remember saw in the mirror an international singer. When you are photographed and you are nobody, be humble. Because you only have 15 Minutes of fame and you're back to flipping burgers. It turned out to be more of a recommendation, but no one will listen to it, in my opinion, he is already on his way to the burger shift.
Well, even random not famous people have right to not be photographed. Quite opposite - you need permission to photograph someone. On the other hand it is a show and I do not know what is written in their contracts. And he was one of the favorites on the show, so in this circumstance he is far from being no one. Still the whole situation is strange and I am waiting for more explanation
@@PandAlex I meant of course in general and not just him. There were several other contestants who made more noise than singing as if they were known all over the world and had an undisputed status. If you were chosen a few months ago in your country to represent, try to be proper, careful, polite and especially humble. It's not just the Dutch guy. I don't determine his fate. It seems that the Swedish production team decided I'm just another one in the audience with a personal opinion.
He is famous in nl/germany and belgium. But thats beside the point.
We're from Canada, we're not Jewish and have no ties to Israel. We follow Eurovision every year but this was the first time we voted, and we threw half of our votes to Israel. First, we genuinely thought she deserved it. Not everyone will agree, but we loved the song and thought Edan Golan was amazing. We wouldn't have voted for her otherwise. Secondly, all of the controversy and the hate we felt was completely undeserved, so we were happy to throw "spite" votes towards those who wanted to see Israel thrown out. Anyone, Israeli or not, who felt that the hate was undeserved and were annoyed by the protests and the inappropriate behaviour from the other contestants etc. may have done as we did and given her votes to show support. For some people, in light of all the "Free Palestine" protests happening in our cities and our University campuses in countries like Australia, France, UK etc,, voting for Israel may have even been a way to say "Enough of this!" Because many people are not that invested in current affairs but the protests are "forcing" it on us in our day to day lives. Highways and airports are being blockaded, preventing people from travelling and getting to work. Graduation ceremonies are being cancelled. Few people have patience for this stuff. And there is also a huge surge of antisemitism happening around the world, and votes for Israel could have been a way to show support even from non-jews/Israelis. All of the above factored in to how we voted. So in our humble opinion, the notion that Israel should have voluntarily abstained is victim blaming. None the less, I'm really glad your video showed up in my recommendations and really enjoyed it even if I'm happy to "agree to disagree" about one particular opinion.
Fully understand your points. I kinda did not knew pro-Palestine protest are that big in Western world. Heard of few where students were expelled from universities just before graduating (in USA somewhere). Looks like I was a fool thinking Eurovision can pass peacefully this year(
Most baffling part for me in all of this is that meanwhile Eurovision took place, Israelis had alerts going on constantly throughout it to find shelters since hamS sent rockets from Gaza.. you barely hear coverage about it because this conflict did got one sided coverage so far and these Eurovision contestants who come from places with mere issues compare to the Middle East region, really need to grow up, it’s one thing to stand for something and it’s another to act the way they did that makes ppl get annoyed with them and just want to support Eden. Especially for ppl who understand the conflict, this is not some 10 seconds shorts that being pushed by an algorithm situation you know, it’s called a conflict for a reason and I will leave this comment lastly saying that the Palestinians are far from innocent at all, and if they haven’t rejected every peace offer we would be in an entirely different situation. As far as it comes to who is actually the indigenous ppl, than Judaism was there 3000 years ago before Islam was ever created. For anyone who read about the Middle East conflict, this year with Eurovision and the news on the conflict feels like everyone lost their minds.
I really did not want to touch whole conflict topic. I know it hella complicated. True, I did not knew that there was more attacks recently. But all my eyes on Russia-Ukraine war cause I’m sadly part of it. I just can’t handle more things like that to see and analyze. Sorry. Last year I was planning to visit Israel btw. I’m not against you. I have small family connection to that country back in few generations and I really hope peace will be reached everywhere soon
That is so true!! All you hear in the media is people pointing fingers at Israel, nothing else!
@PandAlex please come and visit I am sure you will understand the minute you walk our streets why this should be a no-brainer for anyone who advocates for human rights and freedome.
As I said I just wish for peace. I’m hella tired of basically everything that happening on the planet and for a fact know that my human battery is dead. I do not have any mental power to advocate for anything anymore. Especially cause it changes nothing. Selfish, I know. I’m sorry
@@PandAlex I can relate. But here we don't have a choice right now, we are at war, we have to stand by our country and advocate to get our loved ones back.
It’s really sad because musically speaking, this year was really amazing, but all the other stuff that happened really overshadowed it
Yes! I think this year we had so many potentially wining songs and first time in years I actually tried to learn more about some artist outside their Eurovision entry. And at the end it all was about different types of drama(
This yesr Eurovision was the most antisemite Eurovision of all times. It remines what happend in the late 30s last century. Eden only 20 years old young juwish singer received many threats on her life and could not leave her hotel room without close security 24/7 except for rehearsals in the arena, while all the other contestants, most of whom abused and mocked her, could roam free and concentrate only on rehearsals and not on threats to their lives. Which has not happened to any contestant in the entire history of the Eurovision Song Contest. And in the end, who is to blame? As usual the victim and not the one threatening her. And in contrast to the hypocritical Joost who beat up a Swedish photographer and broke her camera just because she tried to photograph the anti-Semite narcissist everyone admires and no one even condemns. Because why condemn, he is not Jew, so he is allowed to do anything, including violence. If this had happened with Eden, I'm sure no one would have stood up for her and defended her the way everyone defends him. hypocrisy.
"beat up a swedish photographer" lol
Obviously people actively hating on Eden was wrong. Both ways: online and offline. My point was: topic of any active war is sensitive and hate unavoidable. I receive some for my ethnicity too. I know what is it. Though that amount was unexpected. At least for me. I thought people will be not so vocal outside of social media. Talking about Joost: I still not saw any proofs. So I’m not making statements. Thought I agree during his interview with Eden he was not acting professional. And I was disappointed.
Please react to xodiac with their song called Special Love. I really like this song because the vibe reminds me of kpop back in the day.
Not promising anything, cause I’m barely have time now and have few videos in head I wanna somehow squeeze in my free time, but I’m saving this recommendation. Thank you)
Please react to xodiac making a comeback with their new song "heyday" dedicated to their fans

So you suggest that Aden Golan submit to terrorism and bullying and cry?? On the contrary, look and learn from her what professionalism and courage is. In addition, Israel did not bring any negative energy. On the other hand, the jealousy of the other contestants brought negative energy. All the contestants slandered Israel and brought an ugly atmosphere to the competition. Eden Golan only spoke nicely, and was professional.
I barely saw her interacting with anyone but press and her delegation. Only few artists was pretty open about not standing with Israel which is not good too. Others look like choose to be as far away as they could. Understandable. I did not care about her being there literally until the final and all that hate peaking. Obviously smiling and ignoring the only things that left for her. I might have missed it, but professionalism from her side for me would be not “smile and ignore”, but addressing hate and voicing that she not responsible for what is happening in her country. Obviously people and artists who loudly share their disgust towards her was more wrong, but it was so predictable and sorry that I did not enjoy it at all. Freaking Eurovision is one of few things that bring good vibe to my whole life and this year even that was so toxic from so many sides.
i dont know if you purposefully ignored the countless reports of israeli journalists and photographers who harassed and went after other artists in the contests, but im going to choose to believe you just didn't know. but it's true. the israeli broadcasting authority (the agency who brings eurovision to israel) who called bambie thug (the pagan ireland contestant) a "stain on israel" and actualy broke EBU rules and is being investigated for doing so. eden has openly talked about joining the IDF after eurovision, which is the military currently carrying out the genocide ON palestine. i don't know what israel was expecting, or what eden was expecting, but if she wanted to be "professional", then she shouldnt have come at all. her being in the competition was a safety concern for ALL of the other artists, who openly talked about how they felt this year's eurovision was so unsafe that they dont want to participate again unless the EBU reforms or israel isn't allowed to perform. no offence, but when you host eurovision in the same time as the palestinian protests in the most left wing city in western europe (malmö), and you are representing a country that is currently being tried for genocide by the UN, you CANNOT expect to be accepted with open arms. eden was either extremely naive, or knows and agrees with what her country is doing.
@@PandAlex you can't know her prospective If you Never heard her side and opinion! she was booed for 5 performances, and every time she got on the stage, while she's standing in front of thousands! and almost no channel WANTED to Interview her, and you know Why. and If are Willing to look for some Interviews with her you will find that she is very respectful and a very nice loving person, And all she Want's is to Bring good vibes. but it's your choice, if you're willing to do so.
@NitsanDvsh go protect her from her real haters. I had no problem with her being there.
@@PandAlex you said it was all fake. well, if you watched some interviews with her, I think you would have changed your mind. she's far from that. it sad you think like that
So how did you find Portugal in the semi? 🇵🇹❤️
I know some people did not like what I said about Portugal, but she was in my top-10 and she was probably the most underrated by me. I accept that. Watching live I was questioning myself like how I wasn’t confident in her? She nailed it❤️
@@PandAlex i total accepted your opinion. Everyone has their own taste in music. That’s why I was curious if it had changed after the semi cause a lot of people that did not really like it before , changed their opinion after seeing her live. Glad you liked our song. Hugs from Portugal ❤️🇵🇹
Actually some songs did not live to my expectations with live performances (Azerbaijan, San Marino, Belgium for example), so watching performances really important. Love to see Portugal again on Saturday) Congrats❤️
Are u a Newcastle United fan!?
Actually I don’t have a favorite EPL team) And I did not really watch it recently either( I watch Bundesliga, but that Newcastle longsleeve is really comfy and I often wear it) I just sometimes can’t stop myself from buying anything with football logos on😅
@@PandAlex Do you live in Germany?
No I’m not. I’m Russian and still live there…(
@@PandAlex Would you like to live in Western Europe? Maybe relocating to country like Serbia or Montenegro can be a good option for short term living? You seem like a great person, you should be living somewhere better
I was in Montenegro last year) Really lovely country) There’s a few family reasons why I’m staying in Russia for now. Though moving is a dream, especially now
🇷🇸💜
Happy to see Serbia in the final💜
OMG! What did I just heard??!! What did you just said about Portuguese people?! They don't expect much from themselves? Are you serious? Ofc portuguese people have high expectations. They just don't go mad if they are underrated as usual in contests like this because there are more important things in the world and they know their value. What an idi*t.
Okay, I see how my wording was wrong. I was referring to the song being good but kinda like it missing something. Especially compared to last year. But that’s okay cause winning is really not important. And the only country I knew which was overacting about results every year is my own (Russian) and I hated it for it, cause we usually was overrated. Eurovision so much better without us.
