Arca Swiss D4 Geared Head with RRS Lever Clamp Conversion & modification
I recently purchased a second hand arca d4 geared head with the lever plate
I found the lever to be over complicated, difficult to use and painful as the latch is sharp
I had a spare rrs lever plate and luckily the alignment pins were spaced the same but the holes were too large
I had a spare miniature bolt that fit and I just glued in place
Later I will add a second and securely glue them in place
Thanks to Rich Baum for the confirmation that this would work his channel and video is here

No I’m not paid by rrs, or arca but maybe I should 😜
Just a video of my own experience and preferences feel free to add constructive comments as I’d love to get a purp...

I got 13😮
I posted a really simple solution to this but seems it was deleted. No idea why..
I am looking at this setup but was told the Arca Swiss plate is also bonded on as well as the screw, is that correct ?
Not on my lever arca plate it was just attached as usual with two bolts… sounds like they are trying to put you off
@@NowherePhotographer-jd4gb Just waiting on the plate now, the Arca swiss I bought isn't bonded on so thats a plus, did you buy the location pins ? having trouble locating some online. Many Thanks
@@RobBowesPhotography I have a writing on how to make such a pin, and some neat ways to fit either the RRS 60mm or the 50mm clamps, but youtube does not let me post a link otherwise my post will be blocked. Just google "The best non-destructive way to fit RRS LR clamps on Arca Swiss heads" and you will be able to find it.
Very useful. Thank you. Do you know the reasons for the acratech quick release not fitting?
My one wouldn’t but have seen this one but not tried… it looks as though it may fit www.acratech.net/quick-release-clamps/locking-lever-clamp
