I agree with the core model with swappable weights, it kindof negates the need for an LS. I think taylormade absolutely knocked it out of the park this year. It is the first TaylorMade driver in years that i'm excited about. The core model is giving me 2016/2017 M1 or M2 vibes with the shape. Can't wait to try it. I'm typically an LS player as I battle high spin, but I'm 99% sure I'm going core model.

Love non bonded fairway woods. Love that they went adjustable hosel in fairways this year! Can make 3 wood a (sort of mini driver) down at close to 13* or can make it a high launch 4 wood.

I currently game the Srixon zx5/7 Mkii combo from last year. 5/6 zx5, 7-PW zx7. I play of 7. Played my best golf last year, which included me getting to single figures for the first time in my 35 year golf history. I love the turf interaction from the VT sole.

I’ve been playing Srixon for a number of years now and just can’t get away from the irons. Tried the hybrids and fairways from the zx mk2 range and have them in the bag. They continue to surprise me and I can’t believe more people aren’t playing them. Unbelievably underrated like Wilson staff which are also a big sleeper

I have a set of ZX7 Mk1 which I only chose because it was on a clearance sale. I have absolutely loved them. If the ZXi 7 are as big an improvement on feel as Joe relates, it might be time to upgrade.

I love Srixon. Played them for years. They were the biggest kept secret. My mate was taking the piss “why u playing Srixon go with TM” he hit my Srixon with my graphite shaft. He now has Srixon irons. I’ll be changing end of year to the ZXI5 with an axiom shaft. Best start saving!!! Great review lads

Here in Australia, All the big brand drivers for 2025 start at $1050 where the srixon comes in at $800. Cheapest driver for 2025 here.

Full bag of it. Just got the gold driver shaft with boron in my driver. Loving it, and have the a series with 3 wood to wedges. As someone with a very high swing speed, they play perfectly

Having been to both Precision and SGGT Tour Performance for club fitting and builds, I don't agree it is the best in the UK. At SGGT you can hit outside and see the actual ball flight as well as the Trackman data, and they still allow you to use the premium ball of your choosing. Also, their system allows them to bend loft and lie in real time so you can hit them once adjusted rather than just assume it will work, and they have 4, 6, 8 and PW to fit. Don't get me wrong, I think Precision have a great setup but there are other options that offer an even more detailed fitting experience.

I used to play Mizuno MP57s. Admittedly, I was a better player when I bought them, but they're in *not one single way* as good as my 2019 Callaway Apexes. The Callaways are longer, more forgiving, go higher so land at better angles throughout the bag, sound great, and actually feel better (more of a solid thump). I play off 10 but have quite a lot of speed (I'm quite big) and the guy at my fitting tried to get me into Apex Pros and stiff / x stiff shafts because he'd drunk the conventional wisdom Kool Aid that a golfer with higher speeds *must* want to make the game even harder than it already is. Will buy some irons this year and go for graphite shafts and a T200 / P790 style head, and drop my 5 iron for a 24 hybrid. When I see any player over a 2 handicap using blades I don't think 'what a purist', I think 'who's he kidding'. Blades are the golfing equivalent of putting a sock down the front of your trousers. Srixon's irons still under embargo then....

Great Podcast as per usual and I was holding out for the 440 driver being a ping man but I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the Cobra Ds adapt X which is now currently on order as I tried all the new drivers as wanted to upgrade from the Ai smoke as the Ping 430 10k seemed too right biased for me with playing a fade, keep the excellent content coming guys 🏌🏼‍♂️🏌🏼‍♂️👍🏼👍🏼

Hi Joe. Hi Dan. Great show as always. Dennis Eagle Society member, Keith here. You might be interested to know Ben has fitted 3 of us now for the Ping 440 driver, we all have differing handicaps. But we all achieved a higher ball speed and greater distance, whilst retaining a nice dispersion. Also love the sound, a further improvement on the 430, and the " fingers in the ears" 425.Can't wait to use it at the first meet.

I’ve just been fitted for the X model and I also tried the new TM and Callaway drivers, I’m a Ping man myself but I don’t think the G440 is going to be a million miles away from the G430, I tried the G430 10k which seems right biased which didn’t help me with playing a fade and the cobras are nearly £100 cheaper than the main brands and from what I’ve been told , cobra are trying to get Victor Hovland on their books, Max Homas already joined and I can see a few other major Pros signing to them 🏌🏼‍♂️👍🏼

I used the qi10 max and after fitting the qi35 LS is by far the best for me and my swing. Feels amazing and hits like a rocket

This is the best golf podcast by far, because we not only have a host that is extremely knowledgeable but also hosts that are skilled at banter. The conversation flows freely and is highly listenable (and watchable) whereas on other golf podcast it comes across as dry or forced. Please keep posting until the RUclips algorithm notices or post the video content to Spotify because especially when reviewing or explaining equipment, pictures help.

From memory the ping g430 max and lst had different crowns. Not so much in terms of colour more material used.

I never liked Callaway and I could NOT tell you why. When two buddies bought Paradym Smoke drivers - I LOVED how they hit the ball, I thought I must have been crazy not to love Callaway. Then they release a new driver with the old radioactive baby-poop-green lipstick on it and suddenly I remember. Ugh.

Joe, with the continued improvement in forgiveness and MOI is it getting harder to feel/understand your strike with driver. I used to have a pretty good understanding of mishits before but find it much harder now. Is this because of the higher MOI or a skill issue from me!!

Elyte isnt elite, no real change with the driver in respect of performance. Forged carbon is cheaper to produce rather than woven carbon, its also easier to mass produce, so China will like it. This is a classic example of the one year cycle is too often, mind you i guess they have to justify the Ai IT investment.

Joe the Pro have you tested the Newton driver shaft?
