Another update - tried this GKU D900 dash cam out head-to-head against a 2k60fps VIOFO A119 Mini 2 camera. The HDR was really poor on the GKU in comparison. I could read license plates significantly better on the other camera. This GKU seems like it is great via the specs and price, but performance just doesn't measure up. HDR on the GKU was still worse than the VIOFO with HDR off.
@@dacvidz we didn’t compare it to another dash cam like you. We thought for the money it was a good cam and did the job. Works great in my golf. I personally can’t fault it.

Looks like this camera could really benefit from a polarizer filter, is there one offered? Would be cool to see the test to see if you can read license plates at any distance while in motion day and night
@@dacvidz thanks for the comment. It doesn’t come with a polarizer filter for the lens and we’re not sure if you could get one. Sorry.

It does make you wonder how much they actually make on these markets? It’s all generally top priced, inadequate items and the food and drinks are super expensive. Doesn’t look that many people there,, so I wonder how long they’ll continue xx

I have this dash cam but I cannot get the app to set up. I cannot get my Wi-Fi to Connect to keep asking me for a password with the cameras name. I put my password in. It’s not it. I use my Wi-Fi. That’s not it. Can you help me in any kind of way so I can get this app going cause I can’t use the camera. Can I without it on my phone?

I drove my 34' Gulfstream from Edmonton Alberta Canada to Southern California, 1800 miles. AND, I had my 1950 Plymouth behind it on a Tow Dolly. Interstate 15 all the way from Coutts Alberta !

We have the Mercedes based one and so far it’s been great. Hasn’t used any oil at all since new and is improving all round as it does a few thousand miles in terms of becoming quieter, better mpg and smoother shifts. I’ve noticed it will cruise at a slightly higher speed with less throttle - all part of the engine and transmission bedding in.
You would be claustrophobic in a vw 😂
