U doing to much just capture the vibe
@@yomommacalled_ this is how I prepare for capturing the vibe lol
Mordecai?
not every vocal needs to be squashed to hell man
WOooOW!😊
Been looping this for an hour now. Such good vibes!
happy ❤🔥
Hey i know this vid is old but looking into serious mixing. I'm looking for the answer to using this or the CL76 which I just purchased. are they used alone or after the other in the chain and so on.. can't find much on youtube about it. thanks man
THeres another guy who did this exact thing. WHo was it?
Also Flo Rida does the same for alot of his vocals over the years. That’s how his vocals have such a “full” sound.
That's amazing
Nice
lol I love this I gotta try it lol
i don't know man, i think that MIGHT be a vibrator.😅
soccer players when they breathe a little too hard:
I laughed and I got what I needed, thank you 😂!!
that release setting its a no bro !! doesnt matter how sustained it's the vocal or the strings or whatever you need to have the release more fast that's why you are using a tube tech, because of how transparent it is you are not going to hear any saturation or weird stuff like the 1176 which a fast release can be really fast.. having a medium/fast release makes everything more cohesive nothing it's going to work if you let the compressor stay compresing all the time because thats what a slow release do and then when it comes to mixing you will have to do a bunch of compression again to lift the vocals.
@@yuli8897 ay fam it’s not just me saying it’s the best setting for recording, it’s a setting that’s most common for Teezio who records Chris Brown, and it’s common for other well known recording engineers as well. Most of the time these engineers are just trying to level it out generally, not pin it like you would later in the mix. I agree that these wouldn’t be the settings for the mix, but it definitely works great for recording and has a more transparent sound than fully fast release.
@@looknorthrecordings ight bro !! that makes no sense at all since later you will have to lift the vocals and having slow release on vocals will make things sound sitting in the back Im not saying using a fast release 100%, medium to fast it's the way to go obviously understanding this settings are really subtle since you are in the recording stage you don't want to crank the threshold and then not be able to reverse that, I get it if you were going to record like a long sustained choir for example.. where's a lot of people or sustained strings sections like your normally do in scoring wheres its an absolute yes due the ambience of a hall fast release will only elevate room sound and thats something you are not looking for but if you are recording rap vocals for example where the main attack of the vocals it's really fast and has not too much sustain what's the point of having a slow release ? the only point to have a slow release in a compressor it's to make sit thing in the back thats it thats why compressors have the option of a slow release because its being compressed all the time and that's definitely something you don't want at all !!! that's why this kind of videos are always making people confuse about attack and release settings if your do a proper recording then in the mix stage there's nothing much to do besides balancing and being creative and as I said you are using a freaking tube tech !!!! its one of the most transparent optical tube compressors if you make that thing sound bad definetly there's a problem with your set up. but they brother thats fine I guess
@@yuli8897 Your comment should be on the Multi-Grammy Award winning mixing engineer Teezio’s CL1B setting video not mine because I literally got the setting from him. But I’m guessing you wouldn’t post this comment under his video?
@looknorthrecordings havent see that video, and also you are talking about teezio like he's the most incrdible and insane engineer ever, pardon me but you literally stole someone else recording settings and you think that's a way to go and now you make a video about someone else settings to make people do it this way ? That's crazy tho I mean you can use whatever settings you want it's up to you to do whatever the hell you want but teaching people this a way to do it in "professional terms" it's definetly wild bro if you tell me you are recording something more like ambience vocals or stuff like that I would say ok.. still insane how slow it is but it would be OK since you want to make things sitting in the back more like a ambience feelings but this is just nuts.
@@yuli8897 lol it’s clear you don’t know how content works bro. Never have I said he’s the most incredible engineer ever. It’s just settings he uses. You can’t “steal” settings on a machine with limited controls, and I’m not “making everyone do it this way”. Chill bro, you’re sounding very trollish. And it’s obvious you’re not the target audience. So why are you wasting your time?
❤❤
Where do I find this recording?
@@C.SchitzPopinov Opera Mauv - Chöp Süey on Spotify
Oh shit so horrible
@@MilesDavis-n9c I know right
All it needs is a sax solo, a horn solo, trying to slowdown the fast vocals would be tough ...
How do I find it?
I think you need at least 32 layers.
WOAHHHHHHHOOO🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥‼️‼️‼️‼️🗣️🗣️🗣️🙌🙌🙌🙌
groovy sexy cool song!!
beautiful and enjoyable! <3
bandlab will never pitch bend well. it just never sounds good. I recommend, if you have a PC, that you use Cakewalk instead. if you can't afford $14/month (I think?) save some money, and buy a Focusrite Scarlett audio interface. it comes with ableton live lite. the only downside is the learning curve when it comes to ableton
The third one is making me laugh the way he puts his finger on his nose and then sing....😂😂

Dam never new that it has haptic feedback
exact gem❤❤
Hock me up with your complete setup
Wizzard for the first minutes before the song
the CL1B is a very sensitive and tunable compressor that needs to be set to the timing of the performance and track. that’s why you see it right near the seated position of many recording and mix engineers. using a slow release on everything is a bad idea as it’s not going to keep up with faster more rhythmic performances. for both attack and release i’d recommend starting at noon and trying both faster and slower settings to see what works for the track.
I agree
When do we need slow or fast release?
@@FFMASHIGANG depends on the timing of the performance and what feel you are going for. generally speaking, fast release for faster and more energetic performances and slower for performances where smoother compression action fits the bill.
@@FFMASHIGANG fast release if you want it to feel more aggressive and in your face, slower for more smooth response that blends it into the mix more

This was great. I love what you did. I'm gonna try this
How long did you wait before receiving this SA-800?
A really long time… like damn near 6 months, but it really does have the sound and look! I’m glad I got it because the quality is undeniable for me, the wait is just a bit frustrating. Maybe they’ve ironed out some of that since I bought it though
@@looknorthrecordings Thanks a lot !
