Lz is, and has always been my favorite member of Stryper. Killer guitar player and such a powerful voice with an awesome range. I’m gonna say something that might make some people upset, but the truth sometimes does that. As much as I like Michael Sweet as a singer and guitarist, he is a bit of a Prima Donna. Let me explain. I was a sub on Stryper’s Facebook page. They were getting ready to record what would become their God Damn Evil album. Michael posed the question to their subscribers “what would you like to see different on our new album”? I replied, “Oz is such a great singer. Maybe let him do a lead vocal on a song.” Michael’s reply to me was “No way. Not as long as I’m in the band. I am the singer after all”. Wow! I replied back saying “Wow Michael. I’m sorry if you took that as a knock on you. It was NOT. You are one of my favorite singers, but I just mentioned that as a fan, I would love to hear Oz’s take on a song doing lead vocals just for one song. He did a great job the time you left the band to pursue a solo career which I respected at the time. So maybe let him sing just one song.” Well, I was unceremoniously kicked off of the Stryper Facebook page after that. And I know Michael was overseeing the page and doing all the posts and replies. From the Diane, I still remain a huge fan of Stryper and especially Oz Fox. But that little incident made me a whole lot less of a fan of Michael Sweet.

Aside from most christian rock bands, these guys stand out. They actually rocked while most Christian bands dont. The other band that comes to mind is Sleeping by the Riverside.

Still listening to them and they're among the best, wish we heard them again with a new sound.

Steven Patrick shoul be in Holy Soldier just like he was. I have no idea why some of these particularly handsome guys feel somehow they have to fit it and look rough by growing those mustaches. It was much more natural the way they looked at the beginning. It is almost like they are apologizing for looking so good before. Nonsense. They sounded and looked great like they did at the beginning.

This was the real Holy Soldier, at least in my opinion. I have no idea, why did Steven Patrick leave? That is the real Steven. I have no idea why they are not around at the top.

This version of HS was the ultimate! Loved them, Rage of Angels etc. Hope to see some form of reunion sometime….can always hope and pray 😁😂🤞🙏🙏
