Nicely done! Even learned a few new works like knitting. Thank you. Have you heard of Visual Font Cantonese? It's a font you can purchase that combines the jyutping and Chinese word into one and might help to reduce work load. It also shows the number with the intonation symbol so it's more intuitive that learning the intonation number.

It helped me a lot. I have been speaking Mandarin for twenty years but no success to speak of in Cantonese... I tried a lot over the years (on and off) but just couldn't make it work. The Duolingo course (Mando to Cantonese) some how broke through the issues I had. Also check out Lingora for their Cantonese course (you can overlay multiple languages like English and Malay) as part of the lession.

In the sentence " have you seen him / her before? ' I cannot see that you used " before " in your translation
Good question! In Cantonese the aspect maker 過 [gwo3] can be used in something that you have experienced. Therefore, it is not necessary to add 以前 [ji5 cin4] (before) to indicate the past event.
I have been studying cantonese for a long time but I experience that the tone of the word makes it sometimes very difficult to express myself in the right way.
That's very true because Cantonese is a tonal language. Recording yourself is a good way to increase your self-awareness when it comes to your pronunciation especially the tones. By listening to yourself speak, you can identify areas for improvement and focus your practice on the specific sounds or words that you struggle with. I am doing the same in French :)
