    I like how they are pretty much invisible when not carrying the trunk. I picked up one of these to use on a Victoria I was going to buy. The wife ended up in the hospital for a month so I missed the Vicky - but I still have the rack and an all metal trunk.

    Sorry but there is no way that you inserted the little front screw and hex nut with the rubber strip in place. There is no clearance to do that. The only way I can see how to do that is cut a small piece out of the rubber strip big enough to allow you to get the nut in place. Not sure how they did that at the factory.

    Thanks to this video, I used this technique a couple days ago with great success. Someone had buggered up the hinge with a hammer, trying to get it apart. I screwed it down to my workbench and used a block of wood as a softener, like you show, it worked like a champ! Thanks Bob!

    I always learn a tip or two from watching your videos Bob...I'm getting ready to start into restoration of my side bowl Zenith, so this video from you is very timely! BTW, work on my new-to-me 68C that you helped me evaluate back in May is continuing...I'm rebuilding the door internals now, with everything coming together nicely!

    I had my starter cranking & wouldn't stop after I took my foot off it. I turn off the key went under the hood & fiddled with the rod to get it to stop. I am going take it apart see what the problem is. Thanks for the tips.

    Are you going to show re-assembly? If ball at the end of shifter is too big after having it rechromed, why not just file to chrome off the ball?

    • @brentwoodbob4071
      @brentwoodbob4071 3 года назад

      Thanks for your question. It will be more durable if you leave the chrome on and resize the forks. The fork metal is softer than the chrome. I discuss resizing in the next video. I will also show reassembly in parts 3 & 4.

    This morning (before I found your video) I removed the windshield from my 1929 coupe (my first Model A). I did not know what I was doing as I could not find any information until I discovered your video series. Anyway, I removed the side screws on my visor so I could lift up the window frame about level with the hood, I then just slid the window frame to the left out of the upper hinge. It came out easy and the upper hinge is still mounted to the car. I am anxious to watch how you install new rubber to the frame with new glass. Once I assemble the window frame and new glass back together I am assuming I can slide the entire windshield back into the upper hinge. Have you ever seen anyone remove and replace a windshield this way? I subscribed and gave you a thumbs up!

    Bob, thanks for sharing your knowledge of the 1930 windshield frame, hinge etc. What is the material that you suggest to cushion the glass to frame, cork, rubber, a bit if silicone? Also did you make a "part 3" ???
