How to Install R-Studio Data Recovery Software on Linux Kubuntu
Can I use it for xcloud gaming?
Can the software recover files from a raw SD?
I have never tried it, but yes it should work on any storage device.
@@commtechengineer612 Would R-Undelete work just as well? It is quite a bit cheaper.
@@commtechengineer612 I have it installed on my system from several years ago; I just need to locate the registration code.
does it gives this controller too for guys with big and long (fat) hands? its too tiny for me, btw will it run at linux garuda (arch based) kernel 6.9.9
I also have large hands and it works well for me but everyone is different. I have gotten a standard PS4 controller to work on Linux that may work better for you.
good controle but using the trigers for racing games after while us uncomfortable many why way its shaped
Yeah I agree, this is more of an all around controller. The price is so good though.
This program was suggested by a user on redit. Worked perfectly for me to recover data on a 4T external hard drive (took 7 hours) last week. Nearly 100% success. Simple to use. Really appreciate the lifetime license as well. And this was after running chkdsk command on my WIN11 laptop 3 times (each taking several days to complete). Has worked in the past. Click on “Start” > type “cmd” > “Run as administrator”. Type a CHKDSK command in the command prompt and press “Enter”. For drive E you then enter chkdsk E: /r
That review was practically useless, why did you even bother, people want to know what the calculator can do, not see a load of cards.
Looks like android 4.0 game.
Still love this guy.
chown: changing ownership of '1TB': Operation not permitted I get this error no idea how to fix this
I have an HP32S, from mid-nineties. I luv it except its got a shitty display. That maybe the key reason I will get the DM42.
Beautiful.
Dell PCs might be boring, but in my personal experience they tend to be very reliable, especially their business oriented models.
I totally agree. Every Dell I have had runs like a clock.
2:10 And what device was there to act as a Gateway? That's right, the Dell Optiplex (poor Gateway...)
A moment of silence for Gateway.
Thinkpads too.. I use Arch btw 😂
This is the comment I expected to see and it's the only comment here lol. I have a T460S for my main Debian machine. A Dell 7010 DT runs OPNsense for my router.
I just installed Arch on an old Surface Pro.
I have heard good things but I have never been able to find a Thinkpad while thrifting for computers. Maybe one day.
T560 with Arch btw.
Yeah with flatpack its a pain the a$$$ , i add to install with rpm , and it worked your method , thank you !
No problem. Glad I could help.
As someone who just wanted to use Linux with the mountains of storage after deleting windows, I thank you kindly for bestowing upon me a simple few commands that made the whole transition 20x easier.
No problem. Glad I could help.
i use arch btw
after the years went by, I found out that Logitech makes the best stuff... 10yo KB, 14yo mouse, and more... all other brands die off very quickly... and the feeling is always good!
Yeah I feel the same. Logitech has some quality stuff.

Which one would you recommend for steering a submarine?
Fuck yea absolute legend
WE'RE MAKING IT OUT OF THE OCEAN WITH THIS ONE 🗣🗣
Do we have extra batteries ⛹🏼♀️
Without gyro, it's automatically garbage as a pc controller.
is gyro good? ive tried switch gyro and ps4 gyro and didnt find it accurate, but I dont know if other controllers are better for it or not.
@@wenimechoinasama2 you need to set gyro to emulate mouse instead of emulating joystick. Then using gyro feels like a mouse. Problem with gyro on many console games is that they emulate joystick. And joustick movement is not 1:1. So when you move your controller, it doesn't translate accurately in the game. if you still have your ps4 controller, hook it up to pc and use gyro to mouse emulation there. Search on youtube for pc gyro tutorials.
Gyro if its a good gyro controller is insanely good, especially with having flick stick on for the now unused joystick, instant snap to any direction and almost the same control as using a mouse, it just takes time to adjust, someone made a video on it and within a month they were fairly close to their m&k scores on aim lab, so it does work, but its all personal preference, it's definitely better than any normal controller for FPS related things atleast. If you arent doing FPS games theres really no point in worrying about gyro.@@wenimechoinasama2
someone who uses gyro, would say that. i think majority of pc gamers with controller has never ever used gyro on theyre controllers :)
i have used gyro, but i main m&k, gyro only on ow2 got me to Gm3 on all roles @@creamsdestinedfuture
Thank you, kindly. 100% got me there no muss, no fuss.
No problem. Glad I could help.
Just don't control the submarine with that gamepad.
Is this the apt, snap, or flatpak version of steam? I got the flatpak setup, flatseal pointed to the drives inside of the /media/<user> dir I've got mine mounted, but jankily. If i cant fix it, no worries. Dont wanna fix what isnt broken But what's happening for me is that except for one drive and the flatpak install location, they're listed as External Drive() instead of the path Perms are set to the user too and all of the mount points have 700 perms so they're writable My flatseal setup is /media/<user>/drive1:rw /media/<user>:rw /media/<user>/drive2:rw /media/<user>/drive3:rw The /media/<user> listing somehow allows the last installed drive to be found Everything else is defaults It works, but its weird.
I typically use the snap version of Steam and I download it right from the Ubuntu/Kubuntu software center. That setup is a little strange. You are correct, a painful lesson I have learned Especially with Linux is "If it isn't broken don't fix it!"
I really loved this deep dive into this controller
Oh boy
Don't go too deep 😅
I see what you did there!
The gloves are a little creepy. Are they really necessary?
Hmm I suppose not, but at this point they are part of the channel. I must commit.
Just downloaded the demo for a test drive. I'm trying to recover a Samsung NVME that was used as a D drive (something weird regarding no volumes shown). Seems to work having grabbed some files in demo mode but my question is can I recover folders/contents or is just the files? Got a 450gb worth of stuff in separate folders and to sort through all that would be a headache.
If I remember correctly, I think the demo mode has limitations on what you can recover. I believe it will only let you recover a certain megabyte limit (5MB??) of files before you need to pay for a license.
I keep getting a disk write error in steam even though i make sure to change ownership of the new steam folder. Using arch and kde.
Interesting....I know Steam has made a few updates since I made this video. I may need to make and updated version of this video once I figure out what is going on.
Hii
Software cases mille
Nothing really works on KDE Neon. The drive doesn't show in steam automatically, and if I add it manually I only get "Disk write Error". Should had thought such a simple thing as an extra steam library was a quick fix for Ubuntu. As it works on Arch linux automatically. However, Input Remapper broke on last Arch update so now I wanted to try a Ubuntu based KDE desktop environment. Is this really going to be the flaw on Ubuntu -_-
Yeah I have had random unsolvable problems with KDE Neon as well. I always stick with Ubuntu or Kubuntu for gaming, it works for me.
@@commtechengineer612 I liked Kubuntu when I tried it, there's just an issue. The first time Kubuntu either get turned off or restarted. The pc will be stuck on a black screen not being able to get to the log in screen anymore. That's why I ended up on KDE Neon this time. Such a shame really, Kubuntu seems pretty good. But everything is working fine for me on Kde now. Not sure what I did different, but got the Steam thing to work when I had calmed down and relaxed some. And the rest of software I use has worked flawless from day one. So I have my whole setup that I used on Manjaro earlier 🙂 See how long I can keep it going without issues, but I presume Software in Ubuntu breaks more rarely than on Arch based Distros.
If you use an AMD Radeon 6/7x gpu (like me) you'd better use the Linux version of X-Plane 12 than the Windows one. The AMD Windows Vulkan layer is a piece of sh... With the Windows version you get 30/40 fps if lucky, with the Linux version of X-Plane you get 120 fps. 🤣
Advise please how to open latter saves in OpenMW?
What should I do if i have a hdd that passed the "overall self-assessment test", but has several errors. Hdd is at 29k hrs, but the reallocated sector count is at 8, and the reallocation event count is at 1. Attributes and error log are also highlighted in red. Is my hdd bad now? I only started looking into this because my computer would randomly shutdown at times and force me into grub rescue. I just had it happened today, and when i checked the error logs for GSmart control, there just happened to be a error also logged today, so im wiling to bet my hdd is causing these random shutdowns.
That hard drive has lived a long life and should be replaced. If you want to try and salvage it you can try using a program called SpinRite made by Gibson Research. It is costs $89 USD and it is an incredible program that can repair dead or dying hard drives.
@@commtechengineer612 thanks for the advice, i can prob even get a new hard drive much cheaper than that program because my laptop is quite old. Is it easy to replace the hdd or is it recommended to go to someone who does computer repairs? Also, should i just buy an ssd instead of an hdd? I heard ssds are a lot cheaper now
@@jgsource552 That is up to you. I personally like old fashioned HDD's. They fail slowly over time and give you a chance to save data. SSD's and solid state drives tend to fail spontaneously all at once. But SSD's are of course much faster so there are pros and cons to both.
First, backup all your important data on that failing hard drive to somewhere safe. Next, if depending on your budget... buy a new hard drive. That drive is old and will fail soon. All hard drives does. It's just a matter of when. Since it's a laptop, I highly suggest for you to replace it with a SATA SSD that has a 5yr warranty. Crucial is a good brand that comes to mind.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I spent nearly a week trying to figure out how to get it to work and this is the only tutorial that actually worked! Turns out I had to format my hard drive from FAT32 to Ext4 and change the mount point to /media/<username> and then run the chown command and it worked! 😁
No problem, glad I could help
Bought one of these and it was dead in the water for gaming on Linux, so bought a replacement...dead, bought another....dead. Tried EVERY fault finding site and using it to game on PCSX2 on Linux Mint I came to the conclusion that all these reviews claiming it's plug and play is complete and utter BS
Me with my healthy 30,000 hour drives :)
tysm!!!
visual comparison, not a Boolean
yes that is correct.
I couldn't see a thing.
Non rechargeable batteries can actually be a plus. Those coin cell batteries are cheap and always available. If they used a common rechargeable cell like a bl-5c then that would be ideal also. But sadly most companies will solder in odd types of rechargeable packs and are not user friendly to replace. I will take the non rechargeable coin cells over that.
After thinking about it yeah you are right. It is really easy to just throw another fresh battery in and be done.
I rely on my HP 32sii every day for work, on my second one after my first broke. This looks amazing, wish it wasn't so expensive because I work in dirty environments and 300 dollars is a hard pill to swallow to get it greasy and dirty lol
Yeah the DM32 may not be the best application for that, i consider it more of a trophy and talking piece more than anything.
I teach in a Texas high school. We have an academic competition for Calculator, where the punching problems and stated word and geometry problems are suited for an RPN calculator. We just purchased 8 for our school.
Now that is a high school sport I can get behind!
@@commtechengineer612 yes, I call them the mathletes :)
@wadehood7238 Can I get you interested in trying DB48X on these calculators in your competitions? I'm trying hard to optimize that firmware for direct use.
Скажите, пожалуйста, в какой папке находятся сторонние модификации на linux , установил лицензионную версию на steam deck , и не могу найти папку куда кидать моды
I don't enjoy using my phone for everything, too much of one virtual thing bores me. I have a seperate satnav in my car. I use real calculators, I enjoy writing and organising and using paper lists and notes. I even write cursive with a fountain pen on fancy paper for fun, which those around me enjoy recieving. I hate reading from a screen, give me a proper book every time. True quick and easy random access, it's called flicking the pages, so fast. To me it's a bit like talking online, flirting online, sex online. All so much better with a real person, which our brain's are designed for.
Agreed, just because something is technically more efficient doesn't mean it's always better.
I am a pipefitter and in some worksites such as chemical plants we are not allowed to bring phones in (lithium batteries especially) but calculators are usually allowed. But even when we can use phones, it's always nicer to use a calculator with nice buttons. Cheap crap calculators with mushy buttons are worse than the haptic feedback of a phone so I can see why so many people don't understand why a real calculator is still an important tool.
the cardboard is a sine get it sine
Ah Ha Ha!
Did you face any problem?
So far no, it runs smooth and is fun to play.
@@commtechengineer612 thank you.
Exactly what part of this was a review?
Good demo. I thought my computer crashed when you went to black! It took me about 30 minutes for the stand-alone cloning on a 1 TB SSD. Cloning from a drive in the computer to one in the docking station was a little faster (20-25 min.). Power to the people! ✊
Nice!
