I have 5 TB70 accounts, and I can confidently say that my later accounts is much more balanced than my main account. My main has 5 dps, Luocha and Gallagher as healers, and Bronya (currently e4) as my sole harmony character. The other accounts were easier to build because there was a defined meta, unlike 1.0 - 2.0. To say that Mr. Pokke is out of touch is an understatement.

I simply can't stand Robin's singing during her ult. How much worse would the team be with RM instead of Robin? (I don't have RM, but I could get her if she's very good for Jade) And what about Tingyun or RMC? Thanks! For context: I just want to make teams where both Jade and Himeko shine. My Jade is E1S0 with trash relics since I started 1~2 months ago, I have Sunday E0S1, Gallagher E2, Aventurine E0S0, Himeko E0S0 and Fugue E0S0. My idea is to make teams for both Jade and Himeko. Also, do you have other viable team suggestions for MoC/AS where Jade shines the most? Since in this team Sunday would be giving all buffs to Lingsha and not Jade. I ask this because I'm very unsure on who to pull for. I can get one 5* this version at most (only if I'm luck and win the 50/50), and I'm not sure if I should get Lingsha, Robin, or skip both and wait for another future buffer from 3.3+. I'm also unsure because getting Lingsha would mean retiring Gallagher or Aventurine, which is a pity, since I spent resources building them. Btw, your explanations are very clear, nice video!

So crit build really only recommended if paired with Jade+Sunday? I was thinking how it could fare in a Herta team since she will be providing 80 CD to the team. Rest of team is Serval+RMC.

i delved into crit lingsha recently and it makes the nasty 5 man monkey boss easy as hell (even toh i still dont know what it does but now I've been loving superbreak lingsha thanks to mother fugue). anyways, firefly found dead, long live mother lingsha!!!

Pulled her today, lvl 70 and she already be doing 40k clears in pure fiction (Lingsha/Sunday/Bronya/Robin) and i also got a 1547 apoc clear so lpwkey surprised. Kinda disappointed me in moc (best i could do was 7 cycles on the swarm side) but you BET i'm going to puller for Robin's e1 and luocha's signature just to make her stonger

Meanwhile me as a F2P honestly having no idea what most of this means, I basically main Jing Yuan (and now probs The Herta, I got the queen) and have Aventurine, Sunday, and HuoHuo in my team, and I just play for the story and the characters. I always play The Divergent Universe: The Human Comedy and ignore the other two 🤡 bcs once the game started powercreeping real bad I started getting 2 stars and it took the enjoyement away. SO- I basically just play for the story and the new characters. I genuinely speaking only pull for characters I like, I lose a toooon (Argenti has avoided me THREE times, when he first released I lost 120 tickets with him, and then I lost my 50/50 in his re run. I want that man so badly and he just haaaaaaaates me.) Like, I've lost Robin, Blade, Jingliu, Sparkle, Black Swan, Feixiao and Fugue (the ones I pulled for). I've managed to get, as F2P, Jing Yuan (with his LC), HuoHuo, Kafka, Aventurine, Boothill, Firefly, Sunday, and now The Herta. And I plan to get Anaxa, Phainon, and Castorice (I also want Mydei but I don't think I'll be able to make it lmao). Anyway I went really off track!! Just, good luck to all my F2P players out there! Now if I were Hoyo, I'd probably make it so the powercreep still exists but it's not that egregious. Genshin (pre-Mavuika) is a prime example of this. 4 years later, limited 1.x characters can still be used in clearing the Abyss since more often than not the you're not that punished for not having a particular character. I'm saying pre-Mavuika since they've been a lot more restrictive in Abyss lately, having so many things needed to be checked in a list (hydro, geo needed on the same team for example). I'm not saying that old DPS in HSR are really that useless today. If the buffs or boss favors them they come back sometimes (e.g. Seele on True Sting rn, or whenever they dod DoT Pure Fiction). Also locking character power behind teammates? (Acheron and Jiaoqiu, Sunday and Jing Yuan, Feixiao and the whole FART) It's really saddening. What if you want Acheron but you don't want to pull for Jiaoqiu, or you want to use Feixiao but Robin us occupied on another team? At least with Genshin even if you don't have Zhongli or Kazuha you don't suffer that much as long as you have the right skill expression.

I constantly feel like I'm behind, like I cannot catch up. Even If I plan my pulls and know what characters I need to make my current DPS better, the game fucks me over with the banner lineups. I have no fuckin clue who should I pull in 3.0. Lingsha for my FF team? Herta for PF? Also Jade for Herta? Feixiao? Robin? I'm so overwhelmed. What If use my jades, but Tribbie becomes another busted support. I want Castorice E0S1 that's for sure, and planning to save for her after 3.0 but before that I don't fuckin know. It's fuckin easy for him, and other content creators with 1000$ to spend, to say it's our own fault.

This was a very thorough commentary. Seeing the timeline of characters makes the chances in HSR more visible. I’ve played since day 1 so I remember the early days of Himeko being a disappointment and Seele/Imbibitor/Jingliu ruling the world. If you think about how comparable CC and f2p accounts are. It’s not just the difference between how many characters, LCs and even eidolons you have. If someone constantly used money to refresh their energy they farm more and so have more possibilities to get great relics. (There’s still level of RNG but the probability of hitting a god piece is higher). So what is a normal relic for a CC or a big spender is probably much different from the things a f2p/light spender (with regular luck) has on their account. For example having multiple sets with over 160 speed with other stats still optimal is not a given thing.

The thing is, many of the free and/or 1.x units are still viable to this day, and you could clearly see the direction this game might go if you looked hard enough. Granted, you needed some gaming experience and critical thinking to notice that, but the clues were there from the start. The game never was about just doing enough damage. It was about solving a puzzle, finding a way to do the most damage you can. Besides, the game does "powercreep" quite reasonably, since older units are bound to be buffed by newer ones. And that's where another bias shows up. People tend to compare the current teams against the teams we had BACK THEN. No shit your new shiny Aglaea or whatever would deal more damage with Sunday and Robin, than Jing Yuan did in 1.0 with Tingyun and Bronya. But if you put the Charmony duo in his team, it is a much fairer comparison. Same goes for JL vs Herta, and other applicable examples. Besides, many units have been MADE viable due to the 2.X changes. I rarely agree with Pokke, and I hate his guts. But, verbatim, I agree with the tweet. Only "stupidity" is linked to how players seemingly have no reading comprehension, and greed is linked to how they're likely to whine and desire more instead of improving the situation themselves. I'd probably add "laziness" on top of that. There is so much to improve in an average casual F2P account without pulling anything, you just have to smartly apply the resources you already have. As long as you have at least 3 limited damage dealers and 2 supports, you have a decent chance of clearing MoC 12. No matter which characters those are. PF is kind of a different story, but it's true for AS too, as long as you're not screwed by weaknesses and mechanics.

I've been playing since release and as a f2p I have cleared moc no problem even with some questionable investments I made more fun, now I will admit that a lot of older 5 stars I pulled feel unplayable but by the time they become unplayable a new shiny toy comes along to replace them. And if you don't care about meta at all then you shouldn't care about the 60 jades/2 weeks you're missing out on, it's not that important.

Mr Pokke's original statement can be easily proven wrong. He states "Only those who are greedy and stupid get hit by power creep" This is wrong because NOT ONLY greedy and stupid people got hit by power creep. Even people who "played smart" by his own definition got hit by power creep. Example. Content creators that came onto him are neither greedy or stupid. By his own definition of "smart choice" that he gave, they played the game "correctly" choosing a current meta unit and building a team around that unit. And they still got hit by power creep. According to Pokkie all CCs who believe there is a power creep problem are greedy and stupid. That is a direct insult to all of us basically. Just ask him to his face "Do you think all of us are stupid and greedy?" and watch him not giving a direct yes/no answear.
