I use Perplexity alot. When Pages was introduced I did not use it because I don't understand the advantage of pages over using perplexity to get information. if pages is not used to paste it on our website what do people use it for?

I use the free version of Perplexity and can recommend it. What would convince me to buy the paid version would be British English as the base language. AI companies are either lazy or intent on destroying British English

I'm trying to find a way to go back to previous follow up question so that I can branch off from a previous point. Many times I want to explore more than one follow up questions but I'm stuck with choosing one and it just funnels me into a linear tangent/branch elsewhere. Perplexity ai says that there is an option to do that, but I have not yet found this functionality.

Google is faster if you know what you're looking for. Like searching something from reddit or stackoverflow.

Once Google integrated Gemini into everything, I swithched over to Perplexity for all my search needs. I see it as the best first stop, not the final destination. Don't follow Perplexity maps off a closed bridge because it told you it was the fastest route.😂

Simple questions fine - anything complex, be careful! Perplexity often gives incorrect answers or contradictory answers. When you point out the error/inconsistency, it says "You're right, I was incorrect. Thank you for pointing out my error". So be careful - don't depend on answers!

perplexity is only very surface level for quick easy questions. it can't facilitate deep research where you need to visit a lot more webpages, and learn new information from where you can extrapolate new search queries to do even more research. perplexity cant do this. and even though perplexity uses sources, it sometimes still hallucinates, especially when doing research on a niche thing. or for something like comparing products online with price. it's still a pretty cool tool to use though, if you know it's use cases.

I wish services like this would just use my api key and these was some revenue sharing agreement behind the scenes. Services like this make paying for chat gpt4 more valuable and so it would be worth it to encourage it.

Personally I have phind better. Perplexity uses a 7b model as its base where as phind uses a 34b model. Where perplexity fails is technical subjects where you have semantic collisions but its does fair job at news summization.
