Soundcheck with the 718 Cayman GT4 with a 3$ Exhaust Flap / Valve Mod. The flaps are always open. The valve control unit is still stock and here is no third party valve controller installed. Soundcheck of a 2014 BMW 435i N55 (Manual) with the OEM stock exhaust. The engine was warm and the sport mode was activated. 0:01 - start up & casual driving 0:40 - normal acceleration 1:40 - hard launch & hard acceleration from a full stop 2:20 - normal driving 3:20 - exhaust sounds while going off throttle 4:01 - hard acceleration 5:10 - reving while standing still

This video shows a comparison between the 100-200 km/h acceleration of the stock (left) and the JB Stage 1 equipped car. Both videos are made under the same conditions, on the same road (very lightly upwards) in the same car. Both times the car had a full fuel tank and two persons on board.

Bitte in HQ gucken. Der Motor war leider kalt und der Auspuff erst seit ca. 40 KM verbaut. Werde nach dem Einfahren bzw. Freibrennen ein neues Video erstellen, bei dem der Motor auch warm ist.

Is it a 6 speed manual transmission ? If it actually is I'd like to ask whether you reach the top speed in 5th or 6th gear. I mean, is possibly the 6th gear just an overdrive for long cruising with limited fuel consumption ? Thanks a lot in advance.

Danke! Der Deckel ist 1:1 vom M4 übernommen und passt perfekt. Wirkt aber mit der schmalen Karosserie vom F32 deutlich höher als beim F82.

Hi, thanks for your video I have followed the topic on rennlist and I went with the wire linkage method to keep the valve open and it works great! The sound when driving awesome during all the rpm range! 😀👍. However I have some questions you can maybe answer for me... Is it your US version? Do you have OPF like mine (EU version) Are we sure it will not damage the engine or the exhaust? And last but not the least, are we sure we do not lost torque/power at low rpm? Thanks a lot! 😉
I live in Germany and got the same OPF like you. As far as I know there would only the possibility to damage anything, if you would hard wire the flaps to be closed all the time. The engine / exhaust should be fine with leaving the gases as quick as possible, because of lower pressure and temperature. Do you feel a loss of torque in the lower rpm?

Hi, I have driven my gt4 today... the sound is awesome but I can clearly identify a loss of power at low end... I can feel it. One at high rpm no difference btw. I think I will go back to original just because of this power loss at low rpm ;-)

How'd you get that M4 trunk installed? was it difficult? does it line up perfectly? where did you get the part? I really want to order and install one for my 440i
If you have the 4 series coupe you can easily exchange the trunks! Everything fits perfectly and lines up very well. You can reuse all parts from the original trunk on the M4 trunk. The only M4 parts you have to order are 2 springs wich open the trunk, when you push the button to open the trunk. With the 440i springs the trunk won't open well.

My understanding is that when the car is not moving it lets you rev it and keeps the valves open and doesn’t override and close the valves like it does with the car moving. You need to do this demonstration with the car moving.
Thats wrong. I'm 100% sure that if you coldstart (!) the car the vales are both open only for a few seconds in the warum up period. If you rev the warm car valve always closes around 2k and opens around 4k. (even PSE activated) The sound above 4000 rpm is exactly the same like before the mod, because both valves are open anyway with PSE active. You can see the before mod video I posted below.
@@filmeschieber Yes, everything you said here is correct. Valves are only open for a few seconds for coldstart, and valves are close below 4k rpm. This info has been posted so many times on rennlist and my car is the same too.

The valve control unit is still stock and here is no third party valve controller installed. You can simply disconnect the vaccum lines of both valves, or use a wire to mechanically fix both exhaust flaps in stock position. (If the cars ignition is off both valves are always open.) Both valves are always open now no matter if the PSE Button is activated or not. Its a simple option to check out if the costs of a valve controller are worth the sound improvement. (absolutely!)
that is why, an f30 will never look exactly like an f80 even after the crappy bodykit done
