Thanks for the advice, and will check them out. Unfortunately the City will not do anything since it's a major throughfare. Hopefully the residents band together and demand better from the city... I'm just trying to highlight that 30mph signs are not really stopping people from driving fast... Thanks for your support.

@@StopTHESpeederss so you have no parking signs on the street? If not you and your neighbors could do a bit of actionism and just start parking a car in the right lane. If there is one car every 300ft or so, nobody will use the right lane and you can continue to record data and see if it makes a difference with speed. If it does and there are also no traffic backups, then you have a good case. If you get all your neighbors in this fight with you, get your local city council involved you may have a fighting chance.

NO parking along roadway, but other Major Throughfares in town allow parking. This is keep traffic moving FAST, in a 30mph zone?

@@rob123456hawke The city thought of that and placed no parking signs along both side of the street... Funny thing is other places in town with more traffic can park, even along this roadway a mile or two from "here" allows parking, not sure of the traffic counts but very similar. City wants this roadway to move traffic fast and no real concern about the neighborhoods along the roadway, IMO.

Thanks for your support! How fast is too fast in a neighborhood? Did you look at the size of the truck, what is his stopping distance? So he saved less than half a minute (1/2 minute) traveling at ~30% higher than the posted speed limit? What is the tradeoff for safety?

Thanks for your support.. Yea, I try... But it's hard to make jokes when people speed and threaten the lives or joggers, people biking etc. in the neighborhood. Just trying to document to show the City the problems..

thanks for your support ** stopTHEspeeders **... Agree - but there are families (children, dogs, cats and goldfish?) living along the street, some even walk along the road with there strollers. Also, as you pointed out it was designed for 30mph, faster speeds and you can see the cars/vehicles "bounce" due to the overall "level' of the road lacking at higher speeds.

Your chances of death when hit by the average sedan at those speeds are 75% but is even higher since this is an SUV which is far more dangerous because of their high ground clearance. Your more likely to go under the vehicle, hitting your head on the pavement in the process.

@@rosamerlujan5510 Well I can't say I agree, WHEN IS 12mph over the speed limit in a neighborhood ever safe? Not talking about a freeway per say Kids playing in the yard, people crossing the streets with their dogs, or just wanting to go for a walk... I believe the safe speed is the posted speed, or even a little less in a neighborhood. But thanks for your support... Just a thought, Perhaps you could talk to your neighbors and see how they would like cars speeding 12mpg over the speed limit down the streets you live on?
