Matt Serra was butthurt because Marc criticized the Gracies while Serra is a devoted Gracie nut swinger. Fast forward 15 years and it turns out that Marc was absolutely correct about the Gracies. There wasn't much on the internet back then and everyone still believed a lot of the Gracies bullshit. Now that the truth has come out, the Gracies have been exposed.

Well, let's analyze what Matt Serra said. He critiqued Marc Laimon for not being an MMA fighter, when Marc was brought in as a grappling coach, as the previous seasons also had other specialty coaches who were brought in for their specific craft and also non MMA guys (Pete Welch for boxing, Ganyao Fairtex for Muay Thai). Meanwhile, Matt Serra brought one of his coaches in on TUF 6 - Ray Longo who also is a non MMA fighter. He forgot to realize that one of his most successful previous training partners also not only fought, but never competed in grappling - John Danaher, who Matt Serra seemed to have no issue with watching coach MMA guys. Aside from Matt's own coaches and training partners, its been proven since the beginning that specialty coaches are common coaches for MMA despite them not having MMA fights on their records. Would be like saying an MMA guy shouldn't let Freddie Roach hold mitts for him. And if the counter is "Freddie Roach boxed", Marc had plenty of competition grappling matches and has won many titles. So what does that all say about Matt Serra? Does it make him a bad guy? Does it make him arrogant? No. He just said some things in the heat of the moment while angry, which is common amongst us humans. Matt has recently said some nice things about him on his interview with Ben Askren. Matt Serra 100% knows that Marc Laimon is a great competitor. Now the real thing here. What would happen if we asked Matt Serra about you? Would he be impressed by your world titles? Would he immediately recognize your name for all the things in MMA and grappling that you've done, and credit you as a major inspiration of his throughout his career? And for the record... Matt Hughes tried getting them two to grapple. Marc said yes, Matt said no. Have a great day.

@@9614cp how can you say not. His instructional videos on the early ufc website on fundamental bjj stuff, are by far the best I have ever seen.. and he is so skilled he beat a gracie.
