Let's travel America in my Jeep Wrangler, exploring and photographing the wonderful landscapes and experiences along the way. I'm going to show you how to improve your photography by sharing how I find locations, and my very own composition and editing techniques.
We might come across abandoned buildings and forgotten relics of the past. We'll definitely be navigating through the windy mountain roads, or driving endlessly through the desert in search of adventure. Well... let's get to it!

Arp synth jam with Moog Matriarch, Octatrack MKII, Moog Sound Studio, and Hologram Microcosm
I hope you enjoy this jam! This year I've begun my journey into the fascinating world of synthesizers and samplers. I'm using the Matriarch for my arpeggios, the Octatrack as a mixer and drum machine, DFAM for some percussion sounds, and the Mother 32 for bass. I'm also running the Matriarch through the Hologram Microcosm to give it some space.

Oh the Salton Sea… what a rollercoaster of history this place is! In this video we go explore Bombay Beach to look at the desert art, sculptures, abandoned buildings and more. This has the feeling of burning man, but surprisingly it’s not a well known location on the map. There are Burning Man art installations from previous years located throughout the area, and the Ski Inn is the perfect plac...
Playing HANDPAN in JOSHUA TREE National Park | Relaxing Handpan Music

I've been learning how to play, and am having the time of my life! Here's a quick little jam from Joshua Tree National Park. I hope you enjoy! Since I can remember, I've wanted to learn how to play the handpan. Before I set off on my Jeeplife adventures, I called a drum shop in Boulder, Colorado to see if they had any handpans for sale. To my surprise, they had a brand new, beautiful handpan ma...
I Was Wrong About Astrophotography...

One of the things I’d like to improve as a landscape photographer are my night photographs… especially the milky way. In this video I share the struggles I’ve had shooting the stars and milky way, a unique approach to solving my problems, and the lessons I learned along the way. It’s safe to say that I have been doing astrophotography wrong this entire time, and am grateful for the lessons I’ve...
This Was An Unexpected Fork In The Road…

You could stick to pavement to drive into Joshua Tree National Park… or you could hit the dirt roads that lead the way and have some fun. In this video we take Berdoo Canyon, an offroad trail into the park that takes about 2 hours. It is rated as easy and there are only a few obstacles that almost any lifted, 4x4 vehicle could clear pretty easily. Towards the end you’re rewarded with a beautifu...
Exploring & Photographing An 1800s Cemetery

Ironwood Forest National Monument has been on my list of places to explore in Arizona. After camping in a cactus forest earlier that week, I knew this would be my next destination. Giant saguaros, blooming ocotillos and dense clusters of ironwood trees scattered across the landscape as I made my way down a few dirt roads. I even stumbled upon a cemetery from the1800s and saw some cows. I ended ...
I Now Live Full Time In My Jeep Wrangler

Making a dream come true is such a wonderful feeling. In this case, my dream was to live in my Jeep Wrangler to travel around the American South West to focus all my time and energy on photography. My Apartment is now a thing of the past, my storage unit is full, and the Jeep is packed with only the essentials. And yes, I did manage to fit the handpan somehow. I start my travels by leaving Denv...
Installing Goose Gear, Dynamat and Armorlite in my Jeep Wrangler | Essential Overland Upgrades

I remember when I removed the backseats in my jeep 3 years ago… I had big plans for all that sweet, extra storage space! Dad and I built a custom sleeping and storage platform that worked great for camping. I feel like we were pretty lucky with how well it performed for our first time building something like that, but the time has come to try out a different setup. In a couple of weeks I will b...
Solo Winter Camping In My Jeep Wrangler In Canyonlands and Landscape Photography
Просмотров 183Год назад
As 2022 comes to an end, and the new year begins, I decided to set off for a week to camp alone during snowfall amongst the canyons in Canyonlands. It’s been a tough 365 days, and as I reflect on the experience I’ve had during that time, I can easily sum it up in one word: vulnerability. This week was filled with a lot of emotions and feelings. Most days were spent crying, drinking whiskey by t...

Exactly what I want to do but with 40% rear delete. How was the side cubbie install with the armorlite. I feel it might not fit due to the added thickness. P.S what was your total cost if you don’t might me asking
I didn't install the side cubbies since it didn't provide much storage space. It wouldn't surprise me either if the side cubbies don't fit because of the added thickness. Here's a breakdown on cost: the Armorlite cost $1000, Goose gear was $2000, and Dynamat was $500. It's well worth the investment!
Oh Yeah~~~!!!!!!
Looking fabulous and the beats are awesome! Love it! We want more!
♥Moog Matriarch ♪♥
It’s so amazing! ❤️
Love it! ❤
Thanks!
This honestly takes me back to the high school days hanging in your basement just watching you jam lol
Those were some fun times!
❤
I heard about a guy that set up his tripod on that same pedestal spot. He was blocking all other photographers view and he argued that he was there first. He refused to move. Was that you?
Nope, wasn’t me. When I was there, I was the only photographer around.
@@ChrisLimbrick 😊 Good
I LOVE that jacket! Listening to this just makes me want to get up and move. Keep the jams coming!
Thanks! This jacket is pretty awesome!
nice boss
🥰
Heading to Canyonlands soon, helpful video. Love you walking through the process of the failed compositions and why they didn't work.
Really glad you enjoyed the video. Have a great trip!
I'm late to this but man the jeep turned out fantastic. Great job man
Thanks so much! I definitely got it dialed in and it works so well.
My wife and I did a Colorado colors run last week (Vail, Ouray, Silverton, and Durango). We both agreed that we were a week too early for the pop of the colors. But blo and leehold, this week it's snowing/storming in some of those areas. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our time and the colors available. As for photography, I was OK as a wedding photographer, but my wife is better at landscape photography. And then there is our adult daughter, who knocks the socks off landscape photography with her Canon18-135mm. Thanks for the video!
Glad to hear you were able to get out last week and see the colors starting to change! hopefully y'all got some nice shots. I am going to try to make it out this weekend if weather cooperates. 🙂
sounds great!
Thanks!
May i ask drone is allowed in this area?
I have seen many people fly drones here. I don’t think there are any restrictions but I’d recommend double checking to be sure.
would we get the same light affect for sunset you reckon? how long does it take to reach the viewpoint from the carpark?
@@MrVinThang you’ll only get this light for sunrise because the sun sets behind factory butte off to the right and the light cannot reach the rim.
@@MrVinThang check out the location on google maps satellite view, you’ll see that it’s literally 5 feet from parking your car 😁
I can’t find it on the map. Anyone know the location?
I gotchu! I created photo notes for this spot that shows the location on the map: www.chrislimbrickphotography.com/photo-notes-penguin-rock-in-joshua-tree-national-park/
Very unfortunate that yt does not recommended ppl with low following, I believe the thumbnail and video quality is enough to be viewed in millions. I believe maybe if u want this to blow up or ur channel, you should advertise ur channel a bit more.
I really appreciate your comment, that means a lot!
I loved this!! Thanks for the trip!!! I didn't even have to sweat. Makes me want more. Such an interesting place.
Glad you enjoyed! It was quite toasty that day…
That was awesome!!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!
The movie salton sea is great too.
Yes it is!! I watched it after making this video and wow, such a good movie!
Dude w/ nose ring ...I'm gone Cali turd....
Surprised nobody grabbed that shipping container yet
Odd seeing it called the "anti-burning man"....I'm a burner and have participated in some of the events in Bombay Beach and see a lot of cross-threading between these communities. One inspired the other I'd say.
Thank you for your perspective! It certainly has a lot of similarities (and art installations from previous burns). I was talking to an artist there who called it the anti-burning man, which I thought was interesting.
Looks kind of interesting but also sadly a lot of litter and garbage. Would rather see it in a natural state.
It would be interesting to see it cleaned up, but I think it would lose part of the charm.
It is so stinky and toxic there. I used to go fishing there like 40 years ago. I don't really get the anti Burning Man concept in the thumbnail? One is rich people on drugs, glamping and swapping STDs. The other is poor people who reject the mainstream society and who want disappear and be left alone. Both are toxic in there own way. 😮
Very cool and worth the watch!
Glad you enjoyed!
Really cool place-thanks for sharing
You’re so welcome! It is a neat place!
Jammin with you!
Wooooo!!
Really appreciated your video - I'm headed to site 18 for two nights soon so I can get Penguin Rock and the Juniper tree with the Milky Way. Seeing the area beforehand helped me get an idea of how to set up for the image I want to take. Thank you!
This makes me so happy! I’m glad you found my video helpful. Be sure to post back with a link to the image, I’d love to see how you captured it!!
There is some internet confusion about the name of this one and the other spire that is half a mile to the southwest. One is "Long Dong Silver" and the other is "Angel of Death". GAIA GPS map names them as you did but I've seen the names reversed. To me the spire to the southwest, which is essentially round, would be more fitting of "Long Dong Silver" and the spire that you photographed, being thin and dramatically pointed, would be more fitting of "Angel of Death", and I've seen them named that way by other sources on the internet.
You know, I noticed this after I explored the area and released the video. Very fascinating indeed!
Great!!! Love the videos 🎉
Thank you!
Love everything about it, especially the music!!
Thank you!!
Just found you in my recommended feed, I'm absolutely astounded by how small your channel is! Keep it up, you've really got something here - glad to see another 5 vlogs I can binge-watch!
Thanks so much and glad you enjoy the adventures! I’ll be posting another one soon and hopefully it’ll give you a laugh as I run around trying to find a composition for a photo. 😊
Wow! Amazing job! No way I could have done that in the cold! 😂
Yeaaaaaaah... I'm renting a heated garage next time I do something like this haha
Sweet!
Hell yeah brother!
dude that looks awesome! great work. That is going to be a sweet set up to live out of.
I am very very excited!! This week I am having a custom shelf built for the area next to the fridge. I guess it's about time I do a rig walk-around video! 😀
We are taking a trip here in July, really appreciate the detail, hope you do more videos like this!
You’re welcome and I hope you have a lovely trip!
Yep, that would be hanging on my wall in the office…. For sure. Great stuff, keep it up!!
Glad you enjoyed the journey! Prints are available if interested. 😁
Chris, how are you enjoying the Ursa Minor? Mine was installed a month ago and it is a game changer! Enjoying your vlog...stay safe!
I've used it for the week I was camping and it really is such a game changer! I absolutely love it and comfortably fits two people. It'll be nice when the weather is warm and I can unzip the fabric to see outside while I'm up there.
I'll be in the area in October, every year i come this way and never heard of this until now. I will have to see it and the Angel of Death tower as well
Enjoy your visit, it's quite spectacular!
Peaceful in the midst of such cold. Your photos are exquisite. You certainly capture the beauty of the earth.
Thank you so much!
Gorgeous overlook. Cozy fire. You are going to have a great 2023!
Awesome and relaxing video, Chris! Got a pretty sweet setup with the jeep. Also excellent image of the overlook!
Thanks! Figured I'd try the no talking, nature ASMR styled video... Might be making more of these! Glad you enjoyed the image of the overlook!
@@ChrisLimbrick yeah I definitely enjoyed that. I’ve been thinking about doing a few of those at some point.
@@jaredboazphoto I'll tell you what... they are much easier to shoot and edit hahaha
Another wonderful episode and a great adventure. You really know how to get along out there. Beautiful shots and a nice camping setup Chris!
So glad you enjoyed it! I haven't quite winter camped like this before, and was surprised how quickly I adapted to the cold. Can't wait to do it again!
