Thank you and totally support you're decision to stick with C400 as if I didn't already have the C500 MKII it would be as well! I'm still going to probably end up getting the C400 down but currently the Dollar$ saved on getting the C80 can go towards RF 24-105 f2.8 Lens and that will be more beneficial at the moment since I already have a camera with the FULL XLR's, SDI and others features I'll be missing from c400 ... And Yes Canon has made the wait well worth it and RED/NIKKON has already waved a white flag with them prices cuts LMAO!!!

@@KamalJones Ha. Love it. I have the 24-105 2.8. It kicks ass. That par focal (sorta) makes for some cool quick rack shots. Just really clean and covers a ton. Good luck.

​​⁠Sony Burano was Dud!!! I love red but it’s going be some time before they get back up to level pre acquisition. I’d anticipate Heat from Panasonic and DJI before others as they’ve been Active. Fun times for us all as it’s easier on the bank accounts 😂

For Shooters this is ridiculous but makes complete sense business wise as Canon try to sell off last of C500 mkii inventory which is a camera capable of those modes for anamorphic having an older, smaller and the slightly lower resolution than C400 6K when compared to C500 5.9k that some might laugh at but IMO 6K is perfect combination of resolution and file size. In short I’m confident these modes will be available in upcoming firmware update if not out box. I’ll also keep an eye for your disappointment when any cinema camera without built in ND’s, Triple Base ISO, Auto Focus and other features drop cuz clearly you’re going to let them know, fair game 😂

@@KamalJones canon & its business strategy are the best that’s why they survived, but there were no competition back then people had no choice but choose canon colours & interface or choose Nikon with its benefits, now there are options and that’s why we seeing canon falling down from being no.1 it’s sooo simple stop crippling cameras & make 1 perfect complete camera like z8 with mechanical shutter & lumix level video features that’s all it’ll need to be no.1 , all its camera 8bit video if not shooting log right ?? I hear you and agree with a lot of what you said but few things to address 1. Canon is still #1 and Similar to How U.S. Mens basketball team not having large margin of victory over international competition because everyone is evolving the same holds true hear. 2. You can shoot 10bit using HLG but Log is so user friendly even with beginners and in some NLE's like FCPX the Rec 709 is automatically added why not shoot Log and consumer products like Iphone & Action cams mostly have a 10bit log option so it's encourage for all levels of creators. 3. Trust me I hear you on let their be 1 camera but when looking at other brands like sony the have Burano, FX9, FX6, FX3, a7s3, ZV-E1 all in the same realm of the image you get out of camera so In full transparency my C500 MKII which is twice the price of c400, if it had an RF mount I'd probably wouldn't have the C400 on Pre-Order and would have more likely waited a month or so you pick up a used one. Yes, Sucks for me but I also understand it's the game and I'm happy that I'm not a RED Monstro owner for $50K that had to watch the release of Vraptor for Half Price $25K that's superior in every way!!! The game is the game we just got figure out the right play for us

@@KamalJones yeah I hear you too.. but then I am planning to jump system c500 no anamorphic 4:3, 6:5 c300 mk III no 12bit raw in high frame rates again they just keep Not adding these small things c500 with our dgo sensor c400 no dgo sensor, I am not awar that any of those do true 48p in 24 cinema frequency,. so clearly they want people to buy more of their stuff which is great marketing strategy leading but the market has changed income of professional in this field is not same CGI, AI imaging power, other camera like lumix giving almost everything in one body & people have many many options

@@dushyantbhatt9345 I know you’re not at war, we having Bar talk and I as well have Canon gripes. I just think strategy is making cameras specifically for different end users. C500 dropped prior to first RF cinema camera and currently there’s no Full frame cinema camera with DGO sensor as tech is NOT up to par yet to remedy the horrible Rolling shutter that would result from how sensor works. Finally every company has its strategy, when I think of Panasonic who probably have best bang for bucket in Lumix series providing internal Raw pro res, anamorphic modes, new phase detection that on flip side they using old sensors which is why when shooting high frame rates there’s a crop on sensor. The strategy is Canon wants to make better budget alternatives than Arri & RED, $85K Alexa LF >$50K Monstro > $16K C500mkii ….. Alexa Mini > Red Gemini or Komodo > C300mk3 or C70 …. In that viewport I’ll say Canon doing very well but Sony, Panasonic, Black Magic and Soon Nikon with Acquisition they are successfully pricing and Spec”ing” to out leverage Canon. Game is Game!!!

I"m not sure if this is Sarcasm or not but the AF on this Camera is insane!!! I never had an issue with my C500 MKII unless in low light and this tracks entire body and holds in extreme low light

I agree, Canon still have some work to do with AF. C400 is much better than the C500ii which was aweful compared to Sony's, but still not great.

@@KamalJones There is no space for sarcasm. AF aim to mic instead of human eye/head. It`s just podcast scenario... Jesus.

@@torsrive8920Because it was not set to face only. Set it to that and it will lock on every time and not focus on anything else. Tried it out, it’s solid. Also, touch tracking works great, touch what you want to lock on and it will keep it there.

All good!!! Sony AF over the last couple years have been industry leading and why I was so hopeful for Burano specs having IBIS but underwhelming based on price. The DPAF 2 is snappy as wish I could record but that whole “pre-production” thing applied. There’s small chance I get camera pre release for few days and I’m anticipating on shooting full movie and if that’s case I’ll definitely let you know what AF fully about and I’m not sponsored so I don’t have to 🧢 … Canon Menu system getting hefty like Canon so kind like the face only feature which eliminates hunting you have to set it correctly for best result and this camera definitely wasn’t user set as you probably can tell by then scrolling through features

I only shoot 4K because normally after I edit the footage I archive footage in 4K H.265 10bit file that's comparable to the native 1080p but with that said I think you can continue to shoot with FHD and perfect you work flow as some many editing softwares now have Resolution Upscalers where you can turn well shot 1080p into 4k or even 8K if needed. I'd advise sticking with Full Frame mode as it should introduce less noise and provide more shallow depth of field but if you're on vacation and shooting outdoors with alot of like and don't need shallow depth of field and extra reach in Crop mode helps I think that will be great choice.

@@User04143No problem, I’ll drop a video this weekend to illustrate but whether you’re using Final Cut or Resolve saying footage in H.265 mp4 format should reduce file by 1/3

APS-C cameras are great and have more compatible lenses but in terms of Extra Range most Full Frame cameras now allow you to enable crop giving you a Similar look of ASP-C if desired so you get best of both worlds.

LUTS definitely can contribute to faster workflow by cutting down time you might spend on color grade but ultimately a faster workflow IMO is achieved through consistent editing which leads to you developing a workflow that suits your current skills and Audience. I'm always looking for a way to be more efficient but the keys are always revealed through editing and editing.

Thank you and in terms of getting Clog3 right it’s Trial & Error to figure out your perfect recipe but some starting points will be to use ISO 400 as base even though 800 is native, I also over expose by half a stop to minimize noise and if I think highlight are too blown out I use Pro Mist 1/8 to soften … don’t let the challenge of perfecting your image frustrate you, instead understand your separate you’re self by mastering your technique and when it’s finally solved it’s automatic!!!

@@KamalJones I’m on autopilot with everything but clog3 cinema gamut, shadows are so noisy. I’ll try ISO 400

@@GMRiverBoys let me know how that works out also what NLE you’re using? I mainly use FCPX out of familiarity but Resolve is in my workflow for batch export with applied Luts and Noise reduction for individual clips which makes footage look clean so I can minimize file size and optimize image quality

Canon is Horrible at Marketing and there Reps do a horrible job promoting the true value of cinema cameras. Canon C500MKII has superior image quality and the C400 improves on that so check 1 ... Internal Stabilization sounds good in theory and with the new VCM lenses I anticipate a beautiful pairing but more important with the camera 10% smaller than C500 MKII and more boxy design with DJI RS4 having stronger motors that's the move to make ... RED Komodo is not even in ball park but Komodo X maybe but outside the global shutter I don't see any advantages that justify KX being worth twice the price of c400 to match it right out of box. Real world footage is out and based on previous releases I'm confident it will hold up when released to masses.

@@KamalJones Sorry man, throwing this box on an RS3 or 4 is too heavy, I'm going to wait and see what the R1 has to offer first before jumping on the C400.

Or we can look at as a better alternative than the Red Komodo X which is more Expensive and besides global shutter outshines in every way. There’s a reason why Arri is the industry standard with a Max resolution of 4.5K in any camera. IMO 6K is the perfect resolution giving you reframing and future proofing capabilities. If resolution was a Top Priority the black magic 12k would have been more popular option among cinema cameras.

Yessir lol! Definitely a great day as Triple Base ISO and New Sensor Tech for the price a welcomed release. In my research a DGO Sensor in a Full Frame camera is going to have a Negative impact on rolling shutter based on how it operates which is why it's reserved for Super 35mm cameras. Canon could possibly copy follow a similar path as Arri by making the Flagship "Alexa 35" a Super 35mm camera with improve DGO sensor with 17+ Stops of DR but the if I had to guess the next High End Cinema camera would be a replacement for the C700. My wallet is closed after this C400 Purchase, as for now lol!!!!

C600 that' s a. nice guess but if I think it would probably have to be a C800 as successor to the C700 FF is long overdue. The C400 hits the sweet spot for me as well and to be honest if my C500 MKII had an RF mount I'd more than likely skip Pre-Order and purchase camera $1K off via Open Box or Used. I just feel my RF 24-70 f2.8 Is is waisted on my super 35 C70 and the possibility of selling my my RF 15-35L & RF 24-105L for the new 24-105L f.28 to live on the C400 is Game Changer Setup as I shoot f2.8 and higher 95% of time.

Thanks bro and I’ll have to say IMO the c400 beats Komodo X out in every way besides having Global shutter, unless you’re doing whip pans and fast action shooting regularly or in your market you can charge more for Nikon Cinema camera formerly known as RED it’s a no brainer.

@@KamalJones Yes but the sensor/processing is so fast GS is not really a thing on the C400 from what I've seen.

Totally Agree as it's rare situations that you would need GS

Nothing loses value quicker than a Red. Nothing holds its value longer than a Sony or Canon

I would put c70 and R5C up for sell and see which one gets better resale value. C70 price might be dropping but the value of camera is going to hold up for sometime.
