      @brendasewandsew3634 The border on the square shown is just a simple single crochet border to even up the edges. 😊 So, I chained 1, turned and placed 1 sc in each stitch across. Then I chained 2 and worked down the side, placing 1 sc in the side of each row. Chained 2 and worked along the bottom of the chains, placing 1 sc in each chain along the bottom. Chained 2 and worked up the last side, placing 1 single crochet in the side of each row. Then, finally, I chained 2 and slip stitched to the first sc made in the round to close. 😊

    I was given a Merino wool yarn (4). Will that work for this bag?

    • @theloopholefox2878
      @theloopholefox2878 9 месяцев назад

      You could use Merino Wool but I wouldn't recommend it for a couple of reasons. First, wool stretches more than a cotton yarn does, so the bag would end up stretching out significantly faster. You could line the bag with fabric to avoid the stretch. Cotton is typically more durable for usable items and can hold up against the wear that bags will take better than a wool or acrylic will. With wool, you might see a lot of fuzziness happen or "yarn halo". Merino is an especially lovely wool which I have used for items like beanies and scarves. Wool is fantastic for projects like that. I know this likely isn't the answer you're looking for but I hope it helps! 💕

    I cannot get the pattern to work out to 128 stitches on the full blanket count. I'm always off by 2. I have watched the video twice and made a swatch that works out but not on the full blanket. What am I doing wrong?

    • @theloopholefox2878
      @theloopholefox2878 10 месяцев назад

      Where do you lose the 2 stitches? When you chain 129 and then work Row 1, do you end with 128 stitches? Is it in Row 2 that you end up with 126?

    • @theloopholefox2878
      @theloopholefox2878 10 месяцев назад

      @kateapostalon8356 Okay, it may have to do with the stitch placement. If you'd like to send a picture of your work, sort of close up so I can see the stitch placement, I can help identify what's going on. If you also could also send pictures of the start and end of the row, that would be great! My email is shannon@theloopholefox.com. Hello! I am obsessed with this stitch! You explain it so well. However, I am having a problem with losing stitches on each row. I can not figure out what I am doing wrong. Any idea what could be going wrong? Also, where did you get your hook? Love it 😍

    • @theloopholefox2878
      @theloopholefox2878 10 месяцев назад

      Which row are you losing stitches on? The crossed double row or the single crochet row? That will help. It's likely coming either from missing putting a single crochet in the top of the turning chains on the crossed double row, which count as a stitch. If you're losing stitches on the crossed double row, it may come from skipping one too many stitches. You can email me close up pictures and I can take a look. 😊 My email is shannon@theloopholefox.com. My hook is a Furls Streamline Swirl! It is the Cookies N Cream colorway but they've discontinued this color. There are a ton of gorgeous hook colors, though! 😊

    • @kellydavis1125
      @kellydavis1125 10 месяцев назад

      @@theloopholefox2878 it seems to be on the first row of the double cross stitches, sometimes the second. I seem to lose a stitch per row. I have started and restarted about 5 different swatches. I’ll snap some pics in a few. You can see one side start to recede due to the stitching. Love the stitch, one side edge is killing me! 😆

    My stitches look like v stitches!!! Help!!!!

    • @theloopholefox2878
      @theloopholefox2878 Год назад

      If the stitch is worked properly, the second double crochet (which is worked in the skipped stitch) will wrap around the post of the first double crochet. Because of this wrapping, the crossed double crochets can look sort of similar to a V stitch because this wrapping of the post is low in the stitch. As long as you have skipped 1 stitch, placed a double crochet in the next stitch and then gone back and placed 1 double crochet in the skipped stitch, it is a crossed double and not a V. If you're a tight crochter with a tight tension, they may look more like a V stitch, as well. With some practice getting used to the new stitch/technique, the tension will likely loosen a bit and they'll look more like X's as well. I hope this helps! 😊
