I could not find set of bearings or their types for this particular differential - E9x 330d X-drive. So here you are, order everything in advance and then do it all at once in one day.

Repair of VM Motori (Detroit diesel) 2.8L turbodiesel engine. D704LTE. Pushrods jumped out due to bad hydraulic lifters and worn out valve rocker arms. Requires heads removal to change these parts. Injectors were checked and found bad so also fitted with new nozzles and pressure reset.

This engine was probably once cooked trough proper. Developed missfire which turned out to be burned head gaskets between multiple cylinders due to warped block. So it was repaired as complete unit since decking the block required total dissasembly anyways.

DPF in place. EGR switched off. Engine was completely overhauled prior to modification, at this mileage its just a matter of time till crank bearings let go even under stock power. Estimated at 160kW 500Nm.

Stage 1 tune of rather rare AMG diesel. Not slow by even todays standards even though acceleration is greatly hindered by aged 5G-tronic transmission. Estimated figures: 190kW 660Nm.

I have followed and replicated your modifications. I think now in the 2024 revision they have done a better calibration in the factory,but I can see the same improvements like in your case. For sure I can tell there was not enogh thermal paste under the LED chip, so I'm glad I checked and applied some Actic MX-4. Thank you.
My NHK 2.5 Pro Plus came, but there was no wiring diagram in the box. Can you share which cable color is for Low and High beam + and -. Thanks a lot.
Hi, red is positive, black negative. Shutter for high beams need to be tested, there is anti-paralel diode to the coil so measure with a multimeter.
I went through your other videos, didn't see one on the NHK M5 plus yet. Did you ever get around to dissecting that model?
Laying on my table for more than a year, no kidding. Just briefly looked over it, didnt have time for more. It is constructed a bit different, question being if for better or cost cutting. Hopefully I will get around to do it soon since these are meant to go in a car after.
I saw this video just after purchasing the NHK Pro Plus 2.5 Bi-LED . For sure I will open them to check the mounting and to apply some thermal paste. Do you recommend using CPU thermal paste like the arctic MX-5 or Noctua NH-D5 ? Do you think it will dry out ? CPU's can go up to 300W so I think it should be okay.
Ive used MX-4 I think.. Chinese use generic white compound that is used in anything from LCD screens to welders. Nothing fancy but it gents the job done.

Same issue here. Does your steering wheel turn to much just to make a turn? Mine does. Cars stiff handling does not exist in my steering no more. It cant be the rack cause if it was it would be hard to steer. Im experiencing the opposite. I dont get how my steering wheel turns so freely with hydro power steering. Rack is not electronic or servo.

Hey buddy, did you tighten the torx bolts on the intermediate shaft or did u welded the steering column?
welded the spline joint inside. Bolts were of course tight, they are also glued.

What size socket did you use to get the pinion gear nut out?y 30mm seems too thick to fit

Hello! Seems like everyone has problems with noisy front diff, but there is little information about how to do it right. The partlist helps a lot. How about the preload for this differential, did u measure it or just torqued down the pinion to some Nm? Any information would be appreciate! :)
Hi, there is nothing to preload luckily. You just torque the pinion nut to the same exact position it was before as there is crush sleeve under it that had set the preload at factory. It you would crush this sleeve further by too much torque, you've done messed up!
How do you know if you bought the latest generation NHK V and why is it better?
Come again? This is version IV. I´ve version V sitting on a bench now. Very different, I plan on comparing the two. Just need some spare time lol.

Sorry I didn´t compare them to those cheap ones you can get from 30USD up. However soon I am getting latest gen V of these, thrilled about what they´ve changed, if anything and their light output. Mediocre build quality aside, these light up the roads like crazy!

Yes of course and a stock clutch. These engines dont have agressive torque profile.
@@75L48and how about the pump and injectors? I'm wondering what's the limit on them, I think that cranking the pressure on the turbo must be an easy way to gain power
@@Lucas_sGarage Stock 10mm pump, stock refurbished injectors - you don´t get bigger nozzles for these anyways as in direct injected engines. As you said, crank up pressure on the waste gate and modify ECU to get power. In this case however there were supporting mods on exhaust and intake side as well, ported head etc. Wouldn´t get such power by just remaping!

Did it myself. These ECUs are very primitive in their contents as well as in a way you write them. Any EPROM progammer will do.
Stock?
No, of course not. This is pretty much maximum you get out of it with better turbos and free exhaust.
Did you have problems with cracked head?
No problems until the next owner overheated it so bad doing donuts the head and block warped to the extreme and oil started to seep out from the side. :)

@@fabriziopandolfi1857 1.6Bar, thats pushing it already. Any more from that turbo is just stupid. Ive seen many boasting they do 2+Bars.. Yeah, maybe try to measure IATs. :)
@@75L48 yes i will stay 1.6 bar max with stock turbo, maybe with a 2260v i would stay higher but I don't want to put strees in the cylinder head...

exact same thing happened with my f30. Gave it to mechanic and he said engine rebuild needs to be done. should I go for it ? Can i take my car on track after engine rebore ?
Depends on how bad it is. If main bearing spun it damaged block. In that case I would go for good used engine instead of repairing this, only few people do required machining anyways. Before you put it in the car be sure to change timing chains and crank bearings. Then I see no problem in future.
Stock turbo?
Yes, everything about the car was stock, except for straight exhaust.

Hodně pěkný! Dělal jsem teď kamarádovi e36 tds stage 2 chip a jede to taky slušně video zrychlení mám na kanálu, taky tlačí 1.6 a na sériovým čerpadle s větším IC s dovolím říct že to je hodně podobný.
Bez prezvarania vstupu na sani to nebolo ono. Predsalen ten ubohy menej nez 40mm vstup nemoze na nejakych min. 160kW stacit. Toto auto prekonalo 2x smrt v rukach hlupych majitelov. Pred asi dvoma rokmi sa tam komplet na novo postavil motor, nakolko tento na videu predosly majitel uvaril tak, ze z pomedzi hlavy a bloku tiekol olej. :) No, kazodpadne reci bolo kopec ale na brzdu nesiel ani jeden. Standartne nacipovanu 150kW E46tku 330d to ale spolahlivo na sprinte porazilo vzdy. Takze hadam tomu tych 160-170kW, tak ako je na videu. OM606 to nieje ale dost slusne.

Very interesting, cheers. I'm about to buy a 2.5" version of this light because it's the correct size to replace poor standard unit in my car. Unfortunately I cannot find a brand other than the NHK... and wonder how many units I the market are real NHK and others a just poor copies. I don't have the ability to change chips and adjust fan wattage, so it looks like I'll have to just see how it goes.
OEM projectors exist like the ones from morimoto used in some Toyotas I think. Output is much lower though. Build quality should be better. Then there are Valeo and BOSCH parts which exist in their catalogues but are impossible to source. So I guess it is as you said, take it and hope for the best!

Does somebody know about the newer updates version of the V generation? I got myself a pair of projectors and they don't look like the ones in the video. The lens are further away from the body (about 0.2mm), the led chips are positioned different, the body and the radiators are different. Does somebody know something? Thanks.
