Melchester Model Railway

Melchester is the name of my 00 gauge loft based model railway. Set somewhere in Wessex, it was the name given by the Author Thomas Hardy to the Market Town of Salisbury. Melchester is a Southern Region steam era railway set sometime in the 1950's. I also occasionally operate Diesel and Electric locomotives from the BR Blue era of the 1980's.
INTERCITY 125: Installing "Maglight" in Hornby's new Mk 3 coaches - Night-time running session.
In this video I assess my coaching stock for the Intercity 125 set - a mix of old Lima and Hornby's 1999 moulding. I compare the old Lima and the new Hornby power cars; install the new "Maglight" system and some passengers; concluding with an evening running session on a dark wet evening.
I also include my own re-composition of an old InterCity 125 advert, which I played on the piano and spoons!

I visit the Netley Marsh Steam & Craft Show 2024, which is near Southampton in Hampshire. Traction engines are on display, along with steam operated equipment; Classic Cars and Trucks; Fairground Organs; Shire Horses and lots more.

All three former episodes of "Going Bananas" rolled into 1, in a nearly hour long episode with some additional commentary added. If you like shunting, this is the video for you! Featuring two Dapol B4 dock tank locomotives, and Hornby's Bullied West Country Class 34001 "Exeter" fitted with lights, sound and a smoke generator. All enhanced with the addition of some digital smoke and steam effects.
