Why didn't it being built in the heart of London. It's a waste of money if it built on the edge of a small town, at the beach. And does it's foundation strong enough? Looks like sand is its foundation base. It's a high structure but with a small diameter body like a rod. That doesn't seems safe.

It’s nice that they solved Brighton’s critical housing shortage then used the leftover government funds on this unprofitable glamour project.

Low visitor numbers were initially blamed on unreliable train services and poor weather, and covid has hit takings even harder. The council borrowed the money from the government’s Public Works Loan Board (PWLB), at an interest rate of 2.78 per cent. When the loan was agreed, the i360 agreed to repay the money to the council at a rate of 6.53 per cent, allowing the council to invest about £1 million a year in regenerating the seafront. But only a handful of repayments at this rate were made before the i360 started to default on the loan in June 2018. The council is now being asked to agree a restructured loan repayment, slashing the interest rate to 3 per cent.

Too small, nothing to do, inadequate seating and facilities, non-UK materials and construction and too expensive for what is experienced. The diverted Victorian sewer and ruined West Pier are, separately, better engineering and more aesthetic.

Well I delivered a lot of the parts. Driving through the tourists in an HGV wasn't much fun. I delivered the electric motors which make it work, one of them was faulty so I had to bring another a couple of days before it was due to be opened so it opened a few days late.
