We did this last week but got spooked by the no trespassing signs at Lochiel. I don’t understand how they could have bought the road. Did you have permission to proceed or just ignore the signs? Or did we read them wrong? Maybe the lands adjacent to the road are not accessible but the road is?

I did this in 2015 with a couple of buddies. I was in a 76 Suburban with a 4” lift on 35”s no lockers just the rear factory limited slip. My buddies were in a stock base Wrangler with street tires a stock F150 with AT tires a stock Silverado on factory AT tires and an Xterra on 35”s. Only problem I had was my shitty edelbrock carb flooded going up hill on a cold morning. We camped out in Turkey Creek. Look up Madmike495 carpet hill. My buddy posted a video on his channel.

  • @reshephyisraaldawnoftheawa7990

Must add another comment. At 22:55 when you crossed the bridge over the Verde River, there is a ranch to the right the owner of which the road you were traveling was named, Perkinsville road. He established a small trading post there but he was especially known for the beauty of his daughters. They never married, but not because cowboys didn't try. These ladies were exceptional entrepreneurs and they surely could fill out a pair of Jeans and knew how to sit a saddle, but they just didn't like being roped. We're talking 30 some years ago when I first saw them. BTW, had many wonderful picnics with my wife and friends under that bridge

  • @reshephyisraaldawnoftheawa7990

Driven this road several times both ways. I'm glad you weren't really driving that fast, At time slot 23:50 where you crossed the cattle guard there is a small pinnacle to the right called "First View AZ. If you had stopped there and climbed it you could have seen nearly all of the Verde Valley. A magnificent view!
