Making a Fantail Goldfish with Polymer Clay
How cute 💗
Thanks!
I wish I had seen this video last year! I would’ve saved myself a whole lot of headache and wasted supplies, after the fine art acrylic paints I used on polymer, turned sticky!!
It's a constant struggle of trial and error!
For the record I still think the violin is adorable even as burnt!!💕 just think of it as a violin that suffered a house fire lol ALSO definitely make that a Graduation bear that is the cutest idea ever!!
That's one way to reframe it! Haha, thank you! I think I will turn it into graduation bear! <3
This is absurdly cute. I'm sure your mum will deeply appreciate your card.
Thank you! I'm so happy you like the figurine!
Oh my goodness is so cute! Reminds me of a stuffie and my twin has called Mama Bear❤
Thank you! It was a fun project to do!
AWWW This is adorable!! ( I also don't drink coffee lol)
Thank you! (I drink decaf coffee haha!)
This is so cute and sweet ur amazing❤❤
Thank you!
@@nanakos_world your welcome ur gonna be famous I believe in you🌺🌷🌹🌸
@@Angeldeary Wow! Thank you for the kind words! That means a lot <3
@@nanakos_world your welcome anytime😁
Oh this is good to know! When I paint on polymer play I use Mr super clear to seal it that usually seems to do the job!
Ohh I'll have to check out Mr Super Clear! I've never tried it. Thank you for the information!
@@nanakos_world yes I highly recommend! It Also helps with painting! When the surface of your sculpture is no longer catching paint you can spray a layer of Mr super clear and the surface should become easier to paint on! It also seals things like watercolor pencils and chalk pastels~
he's so cute 😍😍😍
Thank you!
Also you bake it in a toaster oven? Does that work the same
For me, it hasn't worked the same as a regular oven (sadly). I switched to a toaster oven a few years ago. I burned LOTS of projects so it’s been a series of trial & error. But here’s what seems to work so far (subject to change lol). 1. use an oven thermometer. 2. run the toaster oven first for 5-10 minutes to “preheat” it. 3. where you place the figurine seems to change the outcome too! I once put a figurine too close to the edge and burned my poor bear's ear. 4. covering the figurines with aluminum foil The size of the figurine is key too. My figurines are, and always have been, small... but if I were to go bigger, I’d imagine I’ll encounter other toaster oven woes I haven’t experienced yet! This is just what’s worked for me so I can’t speak for other toaster oven polymer clay artists. If you do switch to a toaster oven, I highly recommend doing experiments with scrap pieces of clay first to find what works! If you have any other tips and tricks with baking, pls let me know!
@@nanakos_world wow these honestly are really good tips and good to know about toaster ovens! I just use a normal oven but still encountered some problems like this cuz my oven at home is not evenly distributed I guess lol but I don't really have any more tips I think you covered it I had no idea about the aluminum foil trick! I think I'll probably use that in the future thank you💖 I'm learning a lot from this thank you I hope your account gets more attention!!! Because you deserve it
How long do you bake it for each time?
the time varies depending on the figurine! But for these bears, I baked it for about 15-20 min each time and let it fully cool before touching it and seemed to have no problems :)
@@nanakos_world thank u so much!!
Wait really??? I have been baking mine more than once but not like this... I figured that the clay would burn if I put it back in- does it not burn?
Yeah! It partially cures the clay, so you can add details or additional components, and then bake it again to complete the curing process! You shouldn't have any issues if you follow the recommended temperature and baking times. (the only time I burned my figurine was when I switched to the toaster oven!) What your method of baking if you don't mind me asking?
@@nanakos_world I use a normal oven!^^ but I have burned things in the past I think only because it unevenly cooked in my not so great oven lol but I use colored clay rather than painting it soooo I'm a lot more worried about clay burning. And I've noticed with the colored clay that the longer you cook it the darker the color gets so I am not sure if this method would work for colored clay? but I will definitely try it with clay I'm planning to paint!! ( the worst burnt piece of clay I've ever made was only a test and it was because I mixed up Fahrenheit and Celsius because for whatever reason my oven has both of them haha the clay was white and went to Brown- surprisingly though burning the clay doesn't make it any less strong from what I've noticed. just discoloration)
Very cute. You know, for some reason I thought that you couldn’t bake polymer clay more than once… guess that’s not true!
Yeah! Adding a bit of Sculpey Bake and Bond is great to make sure the raw clay sticks to cured clay.
super cute, i like this video ^^
Thank you! I'm glad you like it :)
What a nice bear
Thank you!
🐻
:)
what kind of clay is this!!!? also the bear is so cutee
Thank you! I use Sculpey. For this bear, I mixed Super Sculpey Firm and some scrap pieces of clay I had from other projects.
@@nanakos_world thank you!
He adorable 🥰❤❤

AWWW, thats such a cute project😭
It's a fun project :) I'll keep posting until it's done! Thank you!

Love this 🎃has all the feels
In a time where "instasocial" only shows off the best/final take on things, it's refreshing to see a process of misses and failures, and how you overcame them - or not even and just flowing with it. Thanks for the brave exposition!
Thank you Erwin, it was a lot of fun to make! I hope to make more of these videos over the winter season - thanks for the comment!
👏👏👏
You make it seem so easy 😀 Great video!
I needed this. Making my own Nendoroid.
Hello thank you for the comment! I am so glad it helped you!
this was so cute xDDDD
Thank you Linda <3 I'm so happy to hear that!
Love your video! This is too cute. I didn't know your hands shake when you are hungry :P haha. I would love to see you recreate the king crab and the goat too! PS: Alex's response to watching the first minutes of this video was "Am I busakawa?" lol
Thanks Aya! <3 I usually don't notice my hungry shaky hands, only when I am working on small details haha. I can picture Alex saying that ahaha! I hope you are both doing well <3
Will be anticipating the Dream House Friends party: Will Dream Nanako + BF be living there too?
Lol! I will make sure to have some ballroom music ready at the party :P
Love to try these two cute little guy 😉,thanks for sharing.
