      Hey! Thanks for your comment. I’m playing with the new butterfly harimoto innerforce super alc with dignics 05 - 2.1 on forehand and Dignics 80 - 1.9 on backhand. I like it overall and will stick with it for some time.

  • @lngjzs7020

    I played with boll alc and want to switch to the harimoto salc. Since the viscaria and boll alc are similar, can u compare the viscaria and harimoto? I feel like the boll alc has to much catapult and therefore is hard to play above or near the table. Is the hatimoto more controllable?

    • @tampabaytabletennis
      @tampabaytabletennis 18 дней назад

      Hey! Thanks for your comment. Yes I find the harimoto super alc more controllable in general and specifically on more passive and control shots. There is a little more hold time of the ball so you can guide it a bit better. A little easier to add spin on opens and other shots. Overall I’m very happy with the blade. Most people have liked it when trying too. See ya around!

    • @lngjzs7020
      @lngjzs7020 18 дней назад

      @tampabaytabletennis thank you so much. Would you say the catapult when countering or playing underspin is manageable?

    • @tampabaytabletennis
      @tampabaytabletennis 18 дней назад

      @@lngjzs7020happy to help! Yes I think it works well in both areas. My opens feel spinny with good control and countering is nice because it grabs the ball in the racket (at least feels like it). Part of this is me getting used to Dignics 05 on forehand though because I wasn’t playing it normally on viscaria, only trying it sometimes. It sounds like it could be a good option for you. There are always some tradeoffs but I’m very happy with the blade and bought a second as backup since I plan to use it for foreseeable future. Lmk if any other questions and I can give my opinion

    • @tampabaytabletennis
      @tampabaytabletennis Месяц назад

      Hey there! Thanks for your comment. Yes I switched from my viscaria to the harimoto super alc and I’m really enjoying it. It works well for my game because I have more control and time with the ball on medium or passive shots and I can get a little more spin on my opens and serves. I am using Dignics 05 2.1 on forehand and love it but 1.9mm could be sufficient too with slightly better control. Backhand is Dignics 80 1.9 and it works well for my style, better for blocks and punches when compared to 05 but not quite as aggressive with the forward spin shots. Overall very happy, lmk if any other questions. See you around!

    Harimoto ALC how does it feel like do you like it 05 on both sides?

    • @tampabaytabletennis
      @tampabaytabletennis Месяц назад

      Hey! Thanks for your comment... I love my new Harimoto Super ALC. It has helped me control the ball on passive/medium shots due to slightly more dwell time and I can spin the ball a little better now since there is more grab/bite into the softer outer wood plies (this is in comparison to my Viscaria). I have Dignics 05 on FH and Dignics 80 on BH. I like it but yes, I think Dignics 05 would work well both sides too. 80 is a little better for blocks and flat hits/punches, D05 is a little better for aggressive spin over the top. I think it is a very good blade and worth considering. The normal Harimoto ALC is also well-established and popular. LMK if u have any other questions and see you around!

    How's the speed spin and control ? Are you using D95. Oth side ?

    • @tampabaytabletennis
      @tampabaytabletennis Месяц назад

      Hey! Thanks for your comment. I am using Dignics 80 on the backhand side. I like both rubbers a lot but Dignics 05 definitely feels good on this blade. I have been playing with Viscaria for a couple years so in comparison, the Harimoto has a softer feel with more dwell time (helps with spinning ball and absorbing some powerful shots) which makes it a little slower/less reactive on slower shots but the inner carbon Super ALC has nice catapult on top-end with some flex. Harimoto has a bigger blade face so it is slightly head heavy. I am happy to have it and will use it for some time, although I am not necessarily giving up the Viscaria completely. With Dignics 05 on forehand of Harimoto, I have a lot of speed and spin to work with but it still feels mostly controllable after some practice. My backhand feels a little more secure with the added dwell and spin for safety. Depends on what you are used to and like using I would say, but it's a good blade!

    • @tampabaytabletennis
      @tampabaytabletennis 4 месяца назад

      Hey! Those Dignics 09c were 2.1mm and I had it on both sides. I use Dignics 05 on the backhand now in 2.1mm and like it a lot. I think 09c is the gold standard for hybrid rubbers right now and Dignics05 is really good medium-hard normal style rubber. Seems most top players are using some combo of dignics 09c/05 since they both work for forehand and backhand (and also still a lot with Hurricane 3 on forehand). Depends mostly on what you like but I think 2.1mm is most common sponge thickness for the Dignics.

      @@tampabaytabletennis H3 too slow

    • @tampabaytabletennis
      @tampabaytabletennis 4 месяца назад

      @@snzX Yes I think it depends on what a person is used to and how they swing their forehand. I used chinese rubbers as a beginner on a slow blade and moved away from them for a while but H3 on the Viscaria does not feel overly slow to me. I like the control on touch shots over the table and since I have a large swing it works well on my power shots and for spinning up at a later timing. If I just medium power a semi-high ball it definitely gets blocked back more often, but I can add spin/speed or adjust placement and find success. Short and half-long serves are much easier for me with H3 than bouncy rubber. For people who have a more compact/wristy stroke I can see how other rubbers like Dignics/Tenergy/etc. are a better choice. I struggle to control those types of rubbers on my full power shots but they certainly make it easier to generate consistent speed/spin with less input due to their design. I could play Dignics 09c or 05 on FH too but H3 is most fun at the moment for me.

      Thanks! I was using that combo last year around this time and it was good. It worked better for me in training and against conventional topspin opponents but I struggled with it in matches against random types of balls. I have been using Rakza Z both sides since it has similar characteristics but is slower and easier to control than 09c. I hope to go back to Dignics (09c or maybe try 05) later in the year or next year maybe. It should add speed and power overall once i can control it better. I like the rakza Z though for now.

    • @tampabaytabletennis
      @tampabaytabletennis 6 месяцев назад

      Thank you! Yes, that is good advice. I am working on it. Right now I think I am contacting the ball too early in stroke and then follow-through is too long as you said. Need to get racket back faster and closer to body so I can contact ball more in the middle of swing path and then stop myself from extending stroke too far to improve recovery. Also have received some advice about using wrist more and firming grip on contact more as well. Working on it. Thanks again! : )
