dawg we are disordered AND different in your neurotypical society don’t even start with that implying that we’re different but not handicapped in this world like you didn’t just start an abusive neurodivergent school for the sake of supporting specifically ASD type one kids because we’re handicapped in this society

I was at Heritage for almost two years. I witnessed and experienced extreme bullying, cruelty by staff & students, sexual harassment of female students by male staff (for instance, a male teacher loudly ordering a girl in class to cross her legs because she was “making the whole place smell like tuna”), inappropriate use of serious psychiatric medications, mental health issues treated as behavioral problems, blatant homophobia and racism, denial of medical treatment, forced “confession” of drug use that never happened, and children leaving far more damaged than they arrived. And always the cloying Mormon atmosphere in this supposedly non-religious school. Some people seek employment in these places because it’s easy to get hired. A few people want to help kids. Some people want to be *seen* to be helping kids. Many people want access to children who lack credibility. I still have nightmares about my time there and it has been decades. I’ll never shut up about these abusive scam “treatment” centers who prey on parents’ desperation.

hey dude im sorry you went through that :( i was a kid there from 2022-2023 (i was lucky enough to get out fast) and i had a terrible experience too. it doesn’t feel real until i’m getting nightmares about being back there. just, a year of disassociation and faint memories when it wasn’t so long ago, and then nightmares. i’d never had repeating nightmares until i went to spark academy, and that’s supposedly the better program. thank you for sharing your experience. one of my old programs (Open Sky Wilderness Therapy) had to be shut down because nobody went there anymore because of its reputation. hope that happens here too. by sharing your story, you’re doing great. 🤍

All the kids i knew from this place are on drugs and homeless. They were high level in the program but once out of it the pressures of their real life got em back into being bad people. If your a parent thinking about sending your kid here your probably not a good one.
