Is that Alramont Road in the foreground?
I think that you are referring to the dirt road that branches off of Altamont Rd., continuing down Stowe Creek a short distance.
@@railpanoramas9221 Cool, and thanks. I'm heading that way next year, and it's difficult to tell the quality of what Google Maps says are roads.
@@theimaginationstation1899 No problem, beware that Altamont Rd. is blocked a short distance to the East, preventing access to the tunnels. If you have 4wd there are two ridges which provide a good vista to the valley.

Great, keep going 👍🏻
Steve Ewing, a member of the team that’s helping rebuild 4420, said the group is working with experts in train restoration, including the Federal Railroad Administration and Union Pacific’s Heritage Train Operations Manager Ed Dickens, who led the team that rebuilt Big Boy 4014 in Cheyenne. “He (Dickens) came here to view our project and said, ‘What a great locomotive to restore,'" Ewing said. “And we were blessed with a sponsorship of travel to Cheyenne just last weekend, with an invite from Dickens and his crew, to help us with our efforts. To sit down and discuss some of the processes that go into steam engine restoration.” Ewing said that has yielded a “bevy” of information that will be used to guide their efforts in restoring 4420. It also gave them insight into sources for the parts they’re going to need. They have acquired a number of the big steam tubes they’re going to need, some of which are no longer made in America. cowboystatedaily.com/2024/05/25/engine-4420-helped-save-evanston-wyoming-100-years-ago-now-its-4420s-turn/

I cant get enough how beautiful that machine looks

Wow. By far the best trainspotting/editing video piece you've done so far. You really went the extra stepping mile on this one. Unbelievable. You put some forethought and footwork into this collage.
What a fantastic location(s) you scouted here! A+ !
❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤
Where was this shot from? It's a great location
It's on private property but the guys at the truck repair shop are friendly if you ask, some other shots nearby are not private.
@railpanoramas9221 thank you. Fantastic video. Makes me want to go. Been through evanston once best Mexican food I've ever had is there
Both the bi-level and box car are sitting in Cheyenne as of 4/1/23. Is 65663 used as a power car, generator inside, or is it just gear storage?
Both units have been moved to Grand Junction as of a few weeks ago. Would love to know more about these units and what their purpose is...
Thank you for that information
i just happened to find the one for portland, or at the up yard in portland while i was looking around on google maps. not a ton of info out there about these, but the portland one is red and white.
I saw this one recently (2-23) in Evanston, WY, it had a flat car in between the bi-level and loco with snow removal bulldozers on it.
These have some soot now and then. Awesome!
Hi! Great scene, video and camera work! New subscriber. Greetings. Stefano
Very nice video. Great combo of motive power and love tribute to fallen flag.
I don’t know what I love more. The scenery or the audio! Great catch. 👍🏻🎥💯
Thanks Brandon, much appreciated, I like the heritage unit also!
@@railpanoramas9221 you’re welcome 😉
Is that line busy all day
approximately 10-20 trains per day
I think that’s a really cool shot at 4:04 as those two EMD’s are digging in headed up the hill. Very nice 👍🏻
I wonder how the middleloco is being unfailingly operated? Wireless by radio?
It can be wireless or wired, if it has electronically controlled pneumatic brakes (ECP)
You spelled 'Wasatch' incorrectly. I grew up near these mountains.
Oops, I can't believe you're the first person that noticed it!
I believe the location of 'Wahsatch' is spelled differently than the Wasatch Mountains.
@@railpanoramas9221 😊 I really enjoy your channel. Thanks for the nice content!
@@railpanoramas9221 yeah, I actually found this: Though Wasatch is the accepted spelling for the mountain range and a county east of Salt Lake City, there once was a town named Wahsatch located along I-80 at east end of Echo Canyon about 24 miles southwest of Evanston, Wyoming. I learned something new today! 😅

Wow this is so awesome!!
Thanks
Rolling thunder!
The engineers don't wave from the trains anymore not like they did back in 1954 only for cellphone cameras
It's a wonder that the legendary Wasatch Grade is still in use today.
Apparently, the original transcontinental route was well located.
Incredible footage! 👍🏻🎥💯
Awesome sight!
Why do they run 844 with it 4014? 844 could pull this train at 100mph by itself. They could be running two steam trains around the country for a similar maintenance cost.
I guess we will take what we get and will like it!
@@railpanoramas9221 😭
Those two helpers were called up from the Union Pacific Yard in Sparks, NV for helper duty up to Donner Summit to shove the train up. Probably didn't have enough power and stalled out. That happens from time to time.
Thanks Dave, that was a long train, and the two rear locomotives were pretty dirty also, another clue they were helpers on Donner Pass.
Stack trains from Verdi , NV elevation 4,900 ft. Must climb up and over Donner Summit at 7,200 feet in about 20 miles time so its quite the grade maybe 2% , most trains usually consist of a 3 Locomotives on the point 1 or 2 dpu mid train helpers and one dpu Locomotive pushing on the rear. That one train had 5 locomotives on the point 💪🏼
In the second WB intermodal freight can you tell me what the other two trailing locomotives numbers
It looks like after 5682 is 8552, 2601, and 5684
I was operating DC6 when you took this video!
Udah🤒🤮😷

The should just bring back steam all the way
DPUS on the rear? Was through there 2 weeks ago. That’s a steep grade and long.
Yes, a lot of trains are reduced to a crawl here, sometimes they keep helpers in Evanston for emergency use on the Aspen Tunnels grade also.
Anyone know how the mow locomotive is operated?
Not exactly sure what you mean but the lead loco is a rebuilt SD40-2 with a custom looking body, and it looks like there is a control cab unit on the rear.
@@railpanoramas9221 no I just wondered if it was remote or had a regular control stand?
why is the train so short yet triple header yet they look wheelslip
Glenbrook is such a Golden Relic in my eye. A restored 19th century locomotive. Precious as Gold.
