I could be wrong though, but I'm very sure it's a lost piece of evidence to the second Goldwyn Pictures logo which was spliced several times in its restoration.
Almost a century after its release, _THE BIRTH OF A NATION_ remains one of the most controversial films ever made... a landmark achievement of filmmaking that undeniably demonstrates the deep roots of America's racist history. The film tells the epic story of two families, one Northern and one Southern, during and after the Civil War. D. W. Griffith's masterful direction combines brilliant battle scenes and tender romance with a viciously bigoted portrayal of African Americans. Upon its release, it was the biggest feature-length blockbuster yet to be produced in the United States, and the first to be shown in the White House. After seeing the film, President Woodrow Wilson declared it was "like writing history with lightning!" In cities and states across the country, the film energized the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), which tried to have the film banned, or at least the most gruesome scenes censored. The film also inspired African Americans to move into filmmaking as a way to offer alternative images and stories.

Wait…even mishaps like this exist in the 1900s?! That time of year… I just can’t handle having seen this. I always thought Pathé meant fart some odd reason. The Impossible Voyage? Just thinking this is normal is more than just an “Impossible Voyage”.
That shield looks like it could come out of the screen.
You’re welcome

Even though this movie was silent, and got destroyed in the 1965 MGM Vault fire, what did the original music sound like a long time ago?
The music is from the beginning of the overture of Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet
Fun Fact: In the Japanese dubs of *"The Wizard of Oz"* (1939), Judy Garland was dubbed by three different actresses: Mari Okamoto for the film's 1974 TBS (Tokyo Broadcast System) edition. She would later voice Dorothy Gale in the 1982 anime film written & produced by Yoshimitsu Banno, and she also dubbed for Jessica Harper in both the 1979 TBS edition of *"Suspiria"* (1977) & its 2018 remake. Keiko Oginome for the film's 1987 NHK edition. Emi Shinohara for the film's 1990 DVD edition. She's best known to anime fans as the original voice of Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter in *"Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon"* anime and its film trilogy, as well as voicing April O'Neil (voiced in English by Renae Jacobs) in the 1993-1995 TV Tokyo edition of the 1987 *"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"* animated series.
BTW, NHK stands for "Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai" which translates as Japan Broadcasting Corporation.
