This is really beautiful and hearing your commentary highlights what I love about watercolor. Sometimes what you think is a disaster turns out to have some really pleasing moments. I also found your commentary encouraging as I'm pretty new to watercolor and have a difficult time letting things happen, so thank you for sharing. Again, it's lovely.

It reminds me of a moor landscape at sunset. That was the first thought. I was amazed by the colors you used. The purple or red, I thought oh if that would go well. I was really thrilled with the result. Once I tried something like this with many brown and gray colors. Even with scratching the back of the brush. But then I was unsure whether I should continue. Then I stopped. A very great video, thank you for that.👍

I'm a beginner, and a perfectionist, so I often get bogged down with trying to make it look perfect which then leads to frustration and a poor painting. I wrote down something you said in this video and will be putting it in front of me: "... it's all about creating an atmosphere rather than a replica." My painting is slowly becoming looser, but this definitely helps my mindset! Thank you! PS: You offered a few suggestions as you painted that were also quite helpful. Beautiful scene!

Really like the painting, and the new sketchbook is an interesting size. Not sure about the new camera angle though I’m afraid, think perhaps I prefer the conventional view, but full marks for trying something new.

I like your watercolor painting so much. Since I also use small sketchbooks, I can learn so much from them. I prefer small sketchbooks that I can take with me on the go. Sorry for my English, it's not so good but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.👍
