Call me crazy...but this is the way forward. Simple machines that can be repaired with hand tools in basic workshops. I'm not talking about replacing modern saloons for long distances. More for cities and urban routes. Cars like these, but powered by modern electric motors. More weather protection than a bicycle, but not so fast you need airbags etc. The Citrien Ami comes close...but you can't really fix them yourself.

i wonder if anyone at the Festival of Slowth knows more about this folding 3 wheeled electric(?) car. It looks like it would fit in very well at Festival of Slowth (see: Folding Electric (3 wheeled) Car from 1920s ruclips.net/video/dENBYI3j3eE/видео.html ) my favorite shown in the video was the yellow and black 3 wheeled vehicle.
