Based on a description of the exercise from David Weck on several podcasts. We use this a primer for a number of our Littauer Strength Athletes.

Do you recommend going heavy on this one? Like in the 5 rep range? Or is it better to do it with enough weight to do 10 - 12 reps?
i need another barbell
Thoughts on adding a press to it? I've been doing them as a xbody clean and press.
genius
Hey, excellent guide! Do you have any tips on blance because I keep almost tumbling after every press?
Excellent application for boxing and even judo.
nice
Great alternative to normal sissy squats cheers
I'm definitely coming back to this channel
Thank you for this video.
Benefits please
this or explosive push ups? for basketball players?
Yes, they have some potential for upper body power for that
Any advantage in switching legs as the lead leg? Or no différence
I've seen people do either. If you need to work on getting more hip internal rotation, I'd do inside leg forward. If you needed more hip external rotation, I'd do outside leg forward
Amazing
Nie rób jaj!
What the exercise where you do this but switch stances called?
There's a Landmine Pull to Punch (I have a video of that one on this channel), but there's also a Landmine clean and a Landmine Split Jerk (I have a video of the second one on this channel as well). Both involve the switching of some stances
Thanks will check out
High quality video and good explanation, thanks!
Very cool. Louie would want you had resistance with bands!
Great ROM!!
is it your ideer of a safety helmet? 😀
Thank you for this vid! Straight to the point for a guy like me who has nothing but a trusty book bag as equipment.
What part / parts of the body does this affect??
This is a full body movement, training the body to move fluidly and powerfully through the transverse plane of motion. It'll use quads, hamstrings, glutes, obliques, pecs, triceps, and even some lats and biceps.
Thank you
I suspect this might actually be useful in a series for combat sports conditioning.
It's actually something I took from a coach who trains a lot of wrestlers (Zach Evenesh), and put into conditioning for the combat athletes I train. Is a great variation
Avoid the lasers. Crack the safe.
What is the breathing process?
Breath in before pulling, and breath out as you "punch"
How would you load this
Just add weight to the end of the bar that you're holding. Weight actually makes a nice little rest for the shoulder to lean into as well. I have all the people I train just record the weight added to the bar, since the bar and it's angle isn't a full 45lb.
It actually feels more balanced with some extra weight!
Bigup brother keep keep grinding
Why? Lol!! Just lift weights little buddy
If you're referring to the athlete as "little buddy", he's an endurance runner, so getting big is far from being a goal. You're also looking at a rehab/activation exercise used prior to actually lifting. RUclips is devoid of context, as is your comment
I recently did a 4-Jump RSI test. I’m a D3 Collegiate Sprinter/Horizontal Jumper at Millsaps and I tested a 2.95 RSI with a max height of 21.2 inches and minimal GCT of .21 seconds. Are these numbers consistent with that of D1 athletes and would I stand a chance at potentially transferring to a Division 1 college with this data? Obviously not this data alone but does this athleticism translate to the potential ability to achieve the required marks for a D1 school? My current marks are 21’ flat in Long Jump, 41’ in Triple, and 23.1 in the 200.
I don't know much of standard norms for RSI unfortunately. We use it for tracking improvements in our high school athletes, over time. And you're right success at any given level isn't 100% reliable on data analytics. There are great D1 athletes you'd smoke on an RSI test, and there are probably plenty of fellow D3 athletes who'd blow your numbers out of the water yet lose to you on the track. Best way to figure out that transfer (IMO) is to find comparable distances and times for your events and data if it's available
Nice 👌
I like this one too!
Awesome man
Thanks for the demonstration I Just learned about this in Tools of Titans book by Tim Ferries
how we stand with another hand ? ( Left hand )
Great
I still don’t get why does being fat help cause all the weight lifters are fat
when people say MY TRUTH it screams entitlement and a lack of self awareness. many people nowadays lack agency and will run full speed ahead to aoid self accountability
Why the twist with the dumbbells I’ve seen other videos with them doing that
@Littauer Strength Training but what about the other arm? Reverse it or keep your boxing stance?
Reverse it or mirror it on the other side
I’ve got that sled, I’ll try this tomorrow
mark wildman, stuart mc gill, lebestark, wow, nothing to say more ;)
Yes bosu balls are so pointless
lucky it didn't go off
not so good for a long healthy back pain free life tho
Hi! I'll recomend to not transform this snatch variation to a Wide-grip clean and press (and for sure this can be an interesting exercise) in order to add weight. This should imitate the snatch turnover, which ends with a rotation.
