Must have been a nice experience for the kids. One thing I wonder: why did you go both up and down via Tengboche when there is a much more impressive high trail on the opposite side of the valley going via Phortse? All should go up using the Mong La - Phortse - Pangpoche High Scenic Trail and only come down via Tengboche. Vastly better views high across the valley, lots of wildlife and practically no other trekkers.

By clipping the safety line into the ascender doesn’t that counter the safety line? If the ascender failed both would fail.
