The Ultimate Paddle Showdown - Backhand Drive Edition - Austin, TX
It's time for a showdown to see what paddles are the best. In this episode, we'll compare each paddle with backhand drives. This isn't a review on each paddle. Viewers should vote on which backhand drive looked the best with which paddle, or does paddle even matter? Comment down what you think and if we should keep this series going!

Sheeshhh, I'm a 3.711 DUPR and registered for a 5.0 division.... hear me out. Rico and I registered kind of late so 4.0 & 4.5 divisions were fully booked. Plus there's a 5.5 open division. So I figured most 5.0's would just play in the open division since there's a $1,700 cash prize. This is the annual 002 dink and slam tournament at the prestigious Horseshoe Bay Resort in Texas. It’s crazy to me against that first team that you guys recognized you’re losing hands battles and that she was good, but kept dinking to her and popping up middle balls instead of targeting the guys backhand. He played the whole game over the center line to poach cause he knew exactly where you were going

    • @jkgabes
      @jkgabes 3 дня назад

      You also pop a lot of blocks high and long because your paddle reset during firefights is down at your side, making this sweeping motion up and across your center where you should have a backhand attacking block. That being said, it’s easy playing armchair quarterback and your games are fun to watch besides all the apologizing lol

    You (the guy) need to trust your female partner more. She's good. You try to play her side of the court too much and leave your side open. They took advantage of that. Your team did best when you let your partner play, and got beat when you went for balls on her side and got beat on your side.

  • @vighneshramesh2569
    @vighneshramesh2569 7 дней назад

    Bro couple things. You’re talking too much and diverting your attention from the game. You gotta lock in and value every shot and not worry about what your partner is doing, hyper fixate on every miss and change your strategy constantly. Stick to one game plan. Hit drops and move your feet on defense. Be consistent on your drives and take high percentage shots. Then you can make some small adjustments if needed. Secondly, trust your partner. I know it’s a mixed doubles and you stack and the guy usually ball hogs but in your guys case I think she was actually playing better than you were for more of the games yet you were trying to cover 70% of the court and missing easy ones. You gotta read who’s hot and let them thrive. Lastly, you have to more aggressively target the women opponent. That lady was clearly worse than you guys yet you were letting her off the hook. Drive hard at her, hit dinks at her constantly, fast hands and force her to play. If the guy poaches doesn’t matter then wrong foot him when it’s safe and he can only poach so much.

Do info gathering in the first 4-5 points and not halfway through a game. Cause then you can make quick easy comebacks. 😅 great work guys! Keep up the awesome work. Loved the replay hands battles

      If you thought she was "amazing" then you don't know what good pickleball is. If he didn't poach, they would have gotten blown out and lost most of the games. He was fighting to keep them in even though she was popping up so many balls and creating attacking opportunities for the opponents.

    You two needed to have a plan at that level. If it's not working simply saying dropping more isnt the thing. You should have been noticing that you were setting up the poach and started hitting and testing out his backhand. All your returns seemed to be hitting their forehands. Need to practice at keeping the ball lower to the net on all your shots. I think in mixed people get to focused on isolating the female. Test him out, get him a bit unsure about where you would be hitting the ball.. Nice video quality! p.s. trust your partner more.
