Yay, you’re back! Hello sunshine! It’s great to see you, you’ve been missed! Your Darla dress turned out beautifully and it looks absolutely gorgeous on you (and you know I love that fabric 😉). The bra hack was a 100% success,. The 7405 dress is beautiful on you too - that neckline really suits you, shows off those sun kissed shoulders to perfection. The tshirt dress is such a great staple make for the summer, it looks lovely with both belts and it’s quite remarkable how just changing belts gives it two different looks. Hehe, love your market fabric finds - why pay more when you can find such lovely fabrics at great prices. What a lovely blouse too - I love the sleeves. Sadly I can’t wear that type of close neckline, it does nothing for me - I overheat just thinking about it, but on you it looks gorgeous! It’s so good to hear that you’ve taken time out for yourself this summer and prioritised your health and well-being. Sewing is a big part of that for so many of us isn’t it. A great mindful activity that takes our minds off our troubles and helps us relax and become absorbed in ‘the now’. I lost my sewing mojo and didn’t do much over the summer, for various reasons, but my sewing mojo has returned now and I’ve made an All In Easy shirt (Pattern Emporium) and a Simplicity 6766 waist tie top in the last 2 weeks - it’s feels good to get back in the sewing saddle again. Lovely makes as always Anita. That red fabric is so striking against your dark hair, it does have an oriental vibe for sure. I love the way you added darts to make the design work for you. Your pale pink blouse is so pretty too - a totally different vibe but just as lovely and I think the way you handled the cuffs looks great. Those shorts are super cute - fabulous for summer days. So sorry you’ve been feeling this way Anita! I hope that the HRT will continue to make a difference. I think it’s good that you’ve mentioned it on here as it will resonate with a lot of people, especially us ladies who do go through the mill with our hormones. Sending you a hug. Hi Anita, I too have been suffering anxiety, lack of sleep, brain fog etc too and just started HRT. I’m hoping it kicks in soon! A lot of my friends think it’s wonderful and I follow the menopause doctor on Instagram who is fantastic. I hope it helps you. Look forward to seeing your Darla dress xxx

Hi Anita, I love you video as I am currently making up the Emma dress and having similar issues to yourself, how did you remove the chunk from the neckline? Is there a tutorial you used? My neckline is far too wide and gapy and hence causing bagging around my armholes too

Oh Anita, hearing you talk about what you’re experiencing in your body and emotionally brought a lump to my throat and made me want to send a big hug through the screen. I’ve been there with anxiety and so forth, amongst other horrid symptoms, I’m most embarrassed at the sudden overwhelming rage that came upon me at times - it’s scary isn’t it! Don’t want to burden you with my story, so to cut a very long story short, I had BRCA2 breast and ovarian cancer which ended up with a double mastectomy and total hysterectomy and an early menopause with horrific symptoms - just as you’ve described. I couldn’t have HRT, so the only way was through. I’m so glad you’ve sought help from your GP though and I really hope your HRT provides you with some relief, once it thoroughly kicks in! You’ll need no reminder to keep up your yoga practice and meditation too - they are literally life savers during that time. Re your dress - the shell fabric is gorgeous. Please can I ask if you bought it online? It’s going to look gorgeous. I found a You Tube video of a dress that looks very similar at the back - the lady inserted bra cups into the dress - might be worth a look if you haven’t seen it already ruclips.net/video/Fhc28PAUGyI/видео.htmlsi=CfN0cFz2vk_5SLF7. I feel your pain with the rubbish instructions for the Amelia jacket. They could definitely be done better. I had a few struggles with mine too and the whole zip teeth pulling is a bit of a nightmare isn’t it. Your robe looks lovely!! Xx

Anita, so sorry to hear about your friend. I love the green jumpsuit. Could you unpick the back waist seam and add a wedge of fabric, maybe an inch or so. That might be just enough to make it more comfortable. Suzanne

What a treat to see you back Anita! I'm so sorry you've been having such a rotten time - in particular the passing of your friend - what a horrible shock that must have been. I'm glad you didn't feel compelled to make vlogs whilst you were going through all of that, you're human, no apology needed for your absence whatsoever. I hope you find peace in your yoga practice, it's an absolute blessing at times like that, isn't it. You've been busy behind the scenes haven't you - loving all the makes - the garments and the accessories too. I particularly love your jumpsuit - you look amazing in it and that green satin looks so luxurious. I didn't think the crotch looked too 'bum hungry' at all - but you need to feel comfortable in it. Those cuffs are amazing! Satin is so slippery and difficult to sew, but you've made a fabulous job of it. Ahhh ... you made me smile when you said you'd made a top to go to a rave in. Those were the days - my other half and I used to go to raves 25 years ago - back in the day of Carl Cox and Paul Okenfold (I think they're both still DJing.. not sure!?). I still dance, but these days it's much more sedate - just jive and west coast swing ... haha! Anyway your black top is gorgeous and I love the little ties on it. I have a few Tiana's Closet patterns downloaded - you've reminded me to give them a go. The colour of that Ariana top is truly your colour - it looks so lovely on you! I know what you mean about the glitter shedding though - I don't mind it too much, at least not until it ends up in my eyes - which irritates like mad. Yes please - if you ever find the time to do a little tutorial on your jewellery roll that would be fabulous - it's so pretty and like you say - it would make a terrific gift.
