I have the newer version. A drawback in any flashlight where the batteries are arranged in two or more rows is when change it in the darkness is needed. I made a "+" mark on the body of my Pelican 3610, using a heated head of a Phillips screw. It allows to me, only by the touch, to know the correct position of batteries, even in total darkness. This improvised marker created a perfect "+" symbol inside a circle in high relief. The original factory marking of battery position is impossible to be "readed" by the touch.

I just bought one of these today at Goodwill for $1.99. It even had batteries in it and it works great! Nobody knew it was motion activated and sells for like $40 at a store! Pretty cool find today!
